A knife swung out at him, aiming for his neck.

Klave caught the knife, stepping back into the hallway. "Who is there? Show yourself."

A dark-clothed figure swung out at Klave with a kick to the chest, intent on knocking him away.

The person, face masked in black cloth, used the pull to swing past Klave, tugging away their leg and heading straight for the boy and his brother. The brother was now picking up Tacien again, who had apparently frozen upon sight on the masked figure.

Klave's hand burst into flames, and a wall of fire enveloped the attacker.

The attacker did not last very long in the flames, stumbling out and falling down the stairs with a horrible crash. They landed before the boy and his brother, unmoving.

Tacien looked horrified, and immediately began sobbing into his brother's shirt.

"What was that about?" the brother called. "Where are you taking that?"

"Sure thing." Fadran handed one to him.

Gone finds Fadran, and bear-crawls after him, following him wherever he goes.

Yes, Gone is his name. Yes, Gone actually has a good reason to follow Fadran around that's not just because I want attention. Also I meant to do this more, but then school and Drama happened and 7 new pages happened.

"Away from here." Klave put the body down outside, then walked back in and knelt next to Tacien. "Is there anyone else in your home that wishes you harm? Or near to your home?"

Rayvyn glares at the brother. “You need to tell us everything. Has this happened before? What makes you think you can protect him?”

"He can't answer you, you know that."

Tacien stayed in his brother's arms.

"No, it hasn't happened before. I don't know what that person wanted. Maybe they were just a petty thief."

"He's in shock, isn't that obvious?"

"...Hello?"

Gone draws back, seeming shocked to see someone acknowledging him. "Hello." he says slowly and distrustfully.

Gone looks like he has bruises on his face.

Klave sighed, standing up. "Yes, it is. I must be going. Rayvyn, can you stay here for now? Make certain that no other attackers can harm Tacien."

Rayvyn shakes her head, picking up the knife. “This knife is too fine for most thieves, and I doubt that there’s much of value in a child‘s room anyway.” Turning to Klave, she says, “Don’t worry, no one will hurt him while I’m here.”
