Turning 'round, I find a friend

They stand with me, 'till the end.

Or when our bodies refuse to mend.

I know they're there, alive and alight.

Hand in hand, through the night

And the night will end, despite our doubts

There will be respite.

Soldiers fall, soldiers die

The sun descends, the darkening sky

Thick with smoke and blood and flame

Turns black as ash, thick as soot

Holding, tripping underfoot

A warrior rises with the sun.

A warrior brave, a warrior true.

This warrior could be you.

Step up to the task, create a fate
