Katie took a deep breath. Relax, Katie, just be normal. There is no reason to be weird.

Jared listened to Ben’s enthusiasm for the past and then nodded at the newcomers. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Katie and Anmil. I’m Jared.” He tried to smile as warmly as he could, to mask his earlier embarrassment.

"Well, I wouldn't know," said Ben, "as I still didn't start learning it. You're a freshman too, right? From what I heard, side effects can be weird dreams, and you get weaker while reanimating corpses, since you send a part of your soul to another realm. In theory, contacting long dead people is a possibility, which I find intriguing."

It's just me being impatient and her misunderstanding everything in the weirdest way. I guess it's just that my mindset with Ben is very philosophical, and Katie is... Not, to put it mildly. And it's not helping that basically all my characters are some sort of avatars of me. Right now, I think Ben is mostly baffled by her.

She'd screamed when she got the letter, but ever since she had been too busy with preparations to actually think about it. She was here, now, hours away from her first day of classes. The excitement from when she got the letter came back in full force, and with it a wave of nervousness.

"Well, I know we just met but I hope we can get along from here on out." Ilia said, yawning. She should turn in early tonight.

Crawnly Keep is a very wide, very square, and decently tall castle building that is near the center of the campus (I should make a map of it soon...). It looks like it was built centuries ago. When you walk in, there'll be a man at a desk who will get you checked in and will assign you a group number. So y'all get in line for that, I suppose. Your order in line will just be the order of who RPs arriving there first.

Tessa woke up to the rage-inducing beeping that was her alarm going off. She shut it off and rolled back over in bed, until she realized she wasn't at home. She was at Greatowl University, and today was orientation.

With excitement, she jumped out of bed, and with an enthusiastic energy that often evaded her in the morning, quickly got dressed and ready for the day. Deep blue jeans and a clean, fresh turquoise button-up shirt. She grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder, then ran to the door of the dormitory and slipped her shoes on.

Ben stayed  on his bed with his eyes closed, listening absently to his alarm clock. Then he remembered where he was, and his eyes flattered open. He rose instantly and turned his alarm clock off. He turned to apologize to his roommate... When he recalled they each had a bedroom alone. It felt almost empty to him, after years of living with his siblings in the same room with him.

The time was 7:00. He dressed up swiftly - with a many-pocketed pants and plain grey-blue shirt. He snatched his backpack and went to the exit - then hesitated, waiting for Jared.

An old bearded man stepped out of a door into the hallway behind the desk, then began approaching it slowly, looking baffled. "Oh. Uh. Student? You're early."
