  1. I'm fairly certain that Kaladin's roll in the next book is going to have a lot more to do with struggling as a leader, going by the fact that as a Wind Runner that's where his Oaths are heading. It's not that his other issues are just going to go away, they'll just be less encompassing because he has other things to do, and he has started to at least partially work through them.
  2. Dalinar absolutely mentions his armor having a skirt/kama in the first book.
  3. Looks like we can expect Shadows of Self in November 2015. https://twitter.com/BrandSanderson/status/512475101594263552
  4. It's funny that nobody has brough up this comparison yet. But really if were talking about Elhokar's worthiness of being a Radiant then how has he not been compared to Dalinar yet? Remember the person Dalinar was for most of his life was NOT worhty of being a Radiant, he was a brutal warlord who lived for the Thrill. More then that he was basically Gavilar's attack dog, he thought about killing his brother out of jelousy and when Gavilar first made contact with the Listeners he wanted to destroy them. What part of that past indicates that he could end up the leader of the new Radiants? Not only that, but Dalinar didnt start to become a better person until Gavilar died and he read WoK. Which he did when he was in his fourties. It took something horrible happening to him to finally start to grow past being a pitless killer. Basically If Dalinar can live the life he did, and be that person he used to be and then still become worthy in his fifties when most of his life is still stained with blood, and the thing that FINALLY pushed him onto the right path and to actually grow as a person only happened seven years ago then Elhokar definatly has a chance. It doesnt have to be soon (Remember there is a 10 year time skip after book five) but something tramatic enough happens to wake him up? Absolutly possible.
  5. "Hey Elhokar you know how you have massive self esteem and adequacy issues? Yeah well get this, you're also basically the ONLY world leader who actually isn't important enough to assassinate. That'll help your sense of self worth right?" There is no possible way him finding out just how little he actually matters in the eyes of the rest of the world could help in anyway. Even if he suspects it himself (which he probably does going by his talk with Kal) having it thrown in his face that he is literally not important enough to kill could only end horribly.
  6. Depends I guess, honestly Adolin is looking pretty possible as well as maybe Elhokar. Bu I really doubt Navani and even if Shallan marries in I wouldnt quite count her as a Kholin. That said five Kholin Radiants is quite alot but honesly I'll wait and see. I think at least part of it depends on application of importance. We know for sure that Renarin and Jasnah are gonna be POV books in the back half so they will probably survive past the time skip, and while Jasnah will probably be important throughout maybe Renarin wont really step into the true center stage till after one of the others, (Dalinar or Adolin most likely) Is gone. If that happened then I think it'll work fine.
  7. Eh, the Kholins being somewhat superior doesnt really bother me. I would say that so far it's balanced out by people like Kaladin and Lift being the one who do most of the absolutly incredible stuff. Besides that Elhokar and his wife are not exactly anything spectacular. Not to mention that for most of there lives Gavilar and Dalinar were just good conqurors, not shining examples of morality and honor.
  8. Jasnah for sure. That said I love Kal and I can't wait to see what goes down with him in Heartstone and after, it's just we have seen way less of Jasnah in comparison.
  9. Yeah that's what I was thinking of when I wrote the comment, I was just wondering who he DOES get along with.
  10. I wish someone would ask him which of the Cosmere main characters Hoid would get along with best. I mean aside from being a cryptic troll he seems to get along pretty well with the SA mains...But I always imagined him and Lightsong would just hit it off great.
  11. Funny he actually took a step UP for me and he was already my favorite. Mainly cause his arc has a lot of parallels to someone with depression seeing therapy. The end of WoK was basically Kaladin having his breakthrough like a patient making a breakthrough in therapy. But then in WoR he backslides. Which is a very common thing with real life depression where people make a breakthrough but then backslide because they become frustrated that having a breakthrough does not immediately fix everything. So he has to keep working at it. Anyway I think he defiantly COULD be the KRs future leader. The Wind Runners are all about protecting and leading and as of the end of WoR he mostly has the protecting thing down and his last two oaths are likely going to be about leading. Which ties in perfectly with the next book where he is probably going to have to lead the people of his hometown and Kholinar to survive, thus molding him to be the true leader the KR's need. It could even tie into Dalinars development by having him finally acknowledge that he has to relinquish power over the KR to someone who is just better suited for it. Which could help him along his own path as a Bond Smith.
  12. Thanks a lot for the help. Feels good to not have that gnawing at the back of my head.
  13. Thanks, I hate asking because I just read it but books like WoR are so big stuff like the flashbacks and small things like this just all start to blend together or separate themselves so I can only remember a specific quote but not the chapter it's from. (Like when Kaladin asks if Honor is dead and Syl says "yes but i am apart of him.") Not being able to find that chapter again is driving me up a wall.
  14. Where id the God Beyond mentioned in Words of Radiance?
  15. The prelude in Way of Kings take place at the LAST Desolation Where the KR had already existed for centuries. Besides that when the KR formed in the first place they where aware of the Heralds and named them Patrons which means the Heralds had already been through desolations and used there powers in ways that the spren then decided to imitate. Also sense both Honor and the Heralds were surprised by the KR that means regular people having bonded with spren before them couldn't have happened, as then they would not have been surprised by something like this happening. Finally Ishar forced them into following laws because he realized what there powers could do unchecked . If Surgebinders were around before this then laws would have already been in place about them. Sense surgebinders are mentioned in Nohadons flashback I'm willing to bet that his desolation and it's aftermath is when the bonds where first formed and by the time the Heralds returned they had organized into the KR.
