Only Joe. Your quot is 2008. For more up to date info: IROTIN (14 NOVEMBER 2011) Kel said he ended atium production for a few hundred years. Will atium reappear in Alloy and such, or did Sazed move the Pits? BRANDON SANDERSON (MON NOV 14) RAFO. TAGS atium , alloy of law , harmony DOUGLASWhen Kelsier destroys the Pits of Hathsin in Final Empire, it is mentioned that they'll take something like 300 years to start producing Atium again. Do the Pits of Hathsin still exist in any form after Sazed reshaped the world, and is that timeline for them still valid? BRANDON SANDERSONRAFOTAGSkelsier , pits of hathsin , harmony , atium , mistborn So Yes the Pits Probably still exist though as its harmony now and not Ruin the Nature of the shard pool may have changed. there by changing Atium. Its also worth noting that Sized appears to have moved the caves people hid in so that they all opened up on the fields of rebirth (spook was in the cave at Uterau yet he came out to find Vin and Elends corps and survivors from the Hathsin cave emerging right next to his) and there are no rules about a shard moving there pool that we know of. I do not how ever think the Pits of Elantia and the Pits of Hathsin are the same. Simply similar naming conventions. possibly due to some kind of event or astetic at Elantia that reminded some one of the stories of Hathsin.

Were also assuming that " Some Wicked thing of Eminence" is not simply a lie that they discovered. Things like "The Parshmen are evil" or "They are responsible for X" would cause the Human not clairvoyant orders act. If they later discovered that they acted with too much has and not enough facts and killed the innocent by mistake I could see that Breaking the order. Especially if there spren justified it with "You could not have known, You acted with honor at the time." Humans would still blame themselves for the deaths they caused. They would not see that as having acted with honor. If It was bad enough then Like an Oil spill in the Gulf they would try to make amends and/or abandon the project. In this case Knights radiant orders. It could even be as simple as finding out that the Heralds Lied and left.

And those of us who are not retailers but totally need ten sets of dice are Sad.

I wonder if a Flute thinks of itself cognitively as a flute or as a stick.........

The Aluminum would need to be heated to melting by the Discharge and then not Cool back to a solid during flight..... Yea no. Thats too much for current tech on our level, No way they are doing that anytime soon.
-
So at best an Aluminum based poison "Might" deny a Bloodmaker or Pewter arm there supernatural ability to deal with such things and kill them the same as a non-invested human.

@Pathfinder http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1049 KURKISTANWhat would happen if you shot a Thug with an aluminum bullet or stabbed him with an aluminum knife?—[Note: Brandon initially misunderstands the question, as you shall see.] BRANDON SANDERSON Ah, that's a good question. And, um.. the wound would not be able to heal around the aluminum, but once the aluminum came out, and was gone from the system, they would be okay. KURKISTANWait, is that a Bloodmaker, not a Thug? BRANDON SANDERSONOh, you're talking about Thu— Oh, okay. Yeah, ummm... It would work similarly, but it really wouldn't really have a huge effect on them. KURKISTANAh, okay. 'Cause Peter was implying that there was some weird aluminum interaction with Thugs. BRANDON SANDERSONWhat was he thinking of... There is some weird interaction but— KURKISTAN< rudely interrrupts > In the wedding scene [in Alloy of Law] Wax thinks that they would have aluminum bullets to deal with Thugs and I was like "oh that's a typo" and Peter was like "oh no it's not..." BRANDON SANDERSONNo no... That would just be—it's like I said: healing it until the bullet is gone. It's just the same as the Bloodmaker. KURKISTAN< Various pleasantries from me apologizing for all the confusion > @King of Nowhere Aluminum poisoning starts at 100mcg/L how ever even doses of up to 330mcg/L have been used in animal testing with the animal surviving: http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp22-c2.pdf In this case the question is if aluminum above and beyond what is naturally in your body would interfere with your ability to Invest sense its in your blood circulating everywhere it goes in your body.
-
The main reason I'm contemplating that there is more to it is that Aluminum bullets cannot be healed by Feruchemical gold and it deny Kblooded and Allomantic pewter things like dense tissue and there extra health. It should do something to attempts to invest internally at the least sense its being carried around in there blood at that point.

So a question has come up and I wanted the 17th shards input. What would the effects of Aluminum be as a poison on an Allomancer trying to burn metals. As Aluminum poisoning is a real thing: http://www.med.nyu.edu/content?ChunkIID=164929 We know via hemalurgy that Blood in motion matters to at least on metallic art. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Hemalurgy And that Aluminum is "Allomantically inert": http://coppermind.net/wiki/Aluminum one of my Crew is postulating that an Aluminum based poison could be used stop someone from investing in any way. Thoughts?

Not sure what your saying here? For a thing that points to where I got my theory from though: Letter 2 which if you have not read it and want to know

4. The instructions for "sentient life in general" could be part of investiture itself and the human form could be the convenient/best form for sentience to take in each shardworld interpretation. Proving this would be simple to start: QA with Brandon "Can worlds that have not been invested develope sentient life?"

I'm remembering a WoB on the subject of Kaladin Killing Szeth that he actually wrote it and realized that he could not permanently remove szeth due to needing him for the rest of the story. So there was a little Deus Ex Machina there to adjust everything back on track. (Once I find the quote I'm referring to I'll edit/link it in.) For the rest I never thought Jasna was dead and thought Shallan's failure to recognise that after having become more familiar with her powers was odd.

Division and Abrasion. Because Releasers apparently: “Smoke curled from the occasional patches of growth or heaps of burning corpses. Even some sections of rock smoldered. The Dustbringers had done their work well.” I'm confident based on this fragment that the Releasers Break the bonds in materials and then ignite the base componets released

Breath and Stormlight (General Cosmere Topic)
Lord Tavash Shar replied to Mimiddle04's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I like this idea though I think its less likely as so far we have only seen stormlight in gems and living beings. Even breaths "Stick Better" when the awakener targets a human form. Here some literal food for thought. Could eating storm light infused plants & animals passively infuse him?- 24 replies

Breath and Stormlight (General Cosmere Topic)
Lord Tavash Shar replied to Mimiddle04's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Its also possible that his nature as a returned is similar in some way to a radiant in terms of special properties in his body. We already know that the returned can learn to mold their bodies and even suppress some of the aura of their divine Breath, it would not surprise me if there Soul web "Leaks Less" as part of their nature or that they can darken their eyes enough that the lightning from storm light balances out.- 24 replies

Champions (Possible Spoilers)
Lord Tavash Shar replied to Dakhor Savant's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't know if its Possible. As for why: If you could corrupt the Intent of a few pieces of a shard just enough then some one having the personality/willpower to force it back together seems like it would go from Astronomically hard to Incalculably hard. Insuring that no one can pick the whole thing up and rise to god status to challenge you. Edit: As I was. I do think its Possible for one shard to invest and or mess with the Investiture of another. As Examples I'm going to Site Hemalugy: "The spike, now containing a fragment of stolen Spiritweb, is then ripped out and embedded in the recipient, stapling the ability directly into their sDNA." No where does it imply that the stolen fragment is now end negative, Just the Donor/Grafting process Example 2: Spren: Most spren consist of the essences of Honor and Cultivation, or a mixture of both that leans towards either one Shard or the other. This strongly imply's to me that Investiture can be combine/spliced with other investiture. While that may be difficult on a Mortal level on a Shard level its probably a lot Less so. -
Champions (Possible Spoilers)
Lord Tavash Shar replied to Dakhor Savant's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This would be interesting as it could mean Odium could corrupt other shards intent without taking them on. That would certainly make sense for things like what we saw of the skybreakers in WoR. Invest himself a little in a shattered shard and Viola, Nobody can pick it back up. He becomes the only god once he does it 15 times so loosing a little power is not a big deal. -
As for The effects of the above post on the subject of being able to make a lot of aluminum. I have been wondering, how do aluminum projectiles Trajectories look leaving or entering a speed or slow bubble? We know that aluminum stops Feruchemical gold healing and that both kolosis and Allomantic pewter health and durability mean nothing. Like wise it blocks a/Feruchemical tin, brass and zinc. I would love to know how it interacts with time bubbles but in AoL wayne never shoots a gun and uses time bubbles to get out of the way of bullets. Meaning he is not paying attention to what happens as they pass that horizon.

“Three of sixteen ruled, but now the Broken One reigns.” I have been rereading Way of Kings after finishing a Reread of the Mistborn trilogy, Elantris, and Warbreaker and noticed something about this sentence. Are we sure this is referring to Odium? The Broken One could also depending on the language refer to the Shattered one, A shattered shard. And the storm father up until the everstrom was created was more or less the subject of almost all worship on Roshar that we have seen/ know of. Could the Disillusion of the Oath packed by all but one heralded and the surrender of the Knights Radiant actually have strengthen or changed something on Roshar to the point where the Stormfather was stronger than cultivation and Odium? We know from the letter that Rayes is actually comfortable with the power and nature of Odium so the argument could be made that he as a person is broken, but Odium it self is not fractured. Making the title of Broken one not fit him. In addition he is not on Roshar. His Presence is felt but the shard it self is on Braize. The Stormfather as the shattered remnants of Tanavast/Honor and currently the primary/only god of several different kingdoms on Roshar makes more sense for this Epigraph to be the one being referred to and, If this theory is correct, Raises some interesting questions of what is happening to cultivation right now. To really get an Idea of that I would love to get some more concreet quotes on what the eastern peoples of Roshar who do worship cultivation have to say on there godess.

Wayne is suspiciously good at imitation (Spoilers for AoL and SoS)
Lord Tavash Shar replied to LiquidBlue's topic in Mistborn
Its Definitely not out of the question for them to be able to breed with humans and/or each other since they were once Human and I agree that the excerpt certainly feels like there is something going on with waynes acting. That said I think it would make just as much sense for Wayne to have been "Trained" in acting by a kandara -
Night's cloak & heart of a beetle
Lord Tavash Shar replied to navybrandt's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was under the impression that the Greatshells used storm light to support their massive bodies and the spren they are in symbiosis with. Making their gemheart a very important organ for them. Also now that I think about it the gemheart could be touching there Moving blood.............- 14 replies

Allow Me To Introduce Myself
Lord Tavash Shar replied to DanTheSeamonster's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Welcome aboard. In addition to Warbreaker, Elantris was really good and I happen to like Alloy of Law enough to run a Mistborn Campaign in this time frame so I would highly recommend them both.
