Its also worth note that Brandon has stated that Feruchemy does come from somewhere in a similar way to Gaining Allomancy via lerasium beads. IE it can be acquired, Its just that at the time the story starts its inherent to the population of Terris in the same way that Allomancy was more likely in Nobles.
-
Yea its very useful even at 2 for one charges sense you can tap as many charges out of it as your tapping out of your other metal mind. Essentially doubling your rating. Nicrosil Compounding in the AoL also gets Ridiculous as they can make charges at will of anything.
-
He is assuming that the Baseline in the MAG is correct on how the Fmetals work. I happen to agree with him but most people don't
-
This actually brings up a thought of mine. We know that Sazed changed Allomancy so that snapping was easier/not as painful. Could he have changed Hemalurgy so that the charges in a metal did not deteriorate as badly? Otherwise after 300 years who knows where and being melted down I doubt an Inquisitors spike would still have much of a charge to give.

I agree that there should be paired opposite and that they will be more complicated than just pairing. I came to the same conclusion after looking at the Almatic chart (The nature of something like relmantics make repeating patterns a thing, I would not be surprised to find out that there are 6 more surges on Roshar that are "Void" surges controlled by odium ) That said the actual intents of the shards become harder to determine. It could be argued that Odium should have an opposite that is Strictly Love and yet there is not one so far. That Pairing would be strong enough that they would have to be in the same system at least. How ever if you were to split the concept of love between several shards and mix with other cognitive functions..... You would end up with things like Preservation, Cultivation, Endowment, Devotion, and Honor. So we can assume that while they are Paired like the Alomantic table a Perfect pairing is impossible. This is actually something I have been thinking on a lot as a MAG villain of mine in AoL is at least Slightly cosmer aware. Some of the Allomatic Pairings such as physical internal pulling vs. physical internal pushing do not make as much sense as I feel they should for their effects if they were tied so well together and yet perfectly opposite.

Good Catch. No Idea to draw from it yet. Let me stew.

I Assumed that this quote has something to do with that one. "I began life as a thought, a concept, words on a page. That was another thing I stole. Myself. Another time, I was named for a rock.” “A pretty one, I hope.” “A beautiful one,” the man said. “And one that became completely worthless for my wearing it.” It actually made me think that maybe he was offered Adonalsium in some form and refused it. Causing it to shater as a result. But it was not somthing I thought was worth sharing as an Idea till now.

The only Problem with this is that the magic system is influenced by the shardworld its on as much as the shards present. I personally think you would see New/Stronger Metals. Metals Invested with ruin would be better for Hemalurgy, Metal Invested with Preservation would give stronger Alomancy. Both would do something cool and or strange to feruchemical charges stored in them. You're not going to have seons, Spren, or any of the other effects from a splintered because the Shardwords makes Metal the focuse.

Carefull there. "No matter the cost" is how you get Assassins Creed Unity.

Really hard? Try Near impossible. Without Hall-Heroult Electrolysis a good 70% of aluminum ores is Useless chunks of ore. So its a Big Deal to be unable to use electrolysis to Produce it.
-
Aluminum was Integral to the development of our Non Magic enhanced world. As a thought experiment. Imagine how ballooning changes with an Iron compounder at the helm.

Before Ruin Puppeted him Marsh and Sazed were friends. It could have just been wanting to keep a friend around that he could talk too. While we know that the afterlife is a thing we do not know much else about it. On the flip side it could also be future site showing Sazed that he will NEED marsh as a Hemalurgist later...
-
Raw Aluminum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bauxite) is an Earthmetal or Metaloid meaning that even with its impurities its hard to justify Steel/Iron Allomancy effecting it. Its also worth noting that apparently they have not learned much about electrolysis yet and are not using the Hall-Heroult Processes Which is why we have so much cheep Aluminum. So yes. Expensive.

In my case double Electrum Look's amazing. Your self Confidence is something others will notice.and It part of why all the big names are big. Confident leadership. Being able to see my own future is iceing on the cake at that point.

Who's influencing Scadrial in Alloy of Law?
Lord Tavash Shar replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Mistborn
It would help if we knew whether there is an Unmade some where other then Roshar. The Thrill is reminiscent of Ruins Puppeting and so far the unmade are the only thing we have seen similar in any way to Spiking Some one. -

And the Set Bought the ENTIRE Tekie's Business. Thats a lot of money. Think buying out Microsoft. This also does not include the possibility of Private Bendalloy Mines out in the Roughs and other things that villains tend to have. Using your math you could theoretically Compress all 10 months down to 37 and a half days at the cost of 108000000 notes per run, This is assuming of course that your buying the Bendalloy from other people and that Bendalloy Savant hood does not do what it does in the MAG Giving things like a x3 there strength as a mistling instead of x2 or slow burning giving them the ability to double the time it take them to burn a charge while maintaining the same effect. In short the Set are actually pretty well set up to Cheat in something just like this. It may or may not be what they are doing but hey, We will have the book soon and be able to RAFO. BTW that is good maths. I approve of them.

Well yea. That was the point of the whole vanisher plot though. Make a lot of money buying into houses when there "Stock Price" was down due to the No confidence caused by the vanishers then Return the merchandise raseing confidence back to normal levels. Instant Profit. And as long as you had a skilled Bendalloy Mistling, Possibly a Savant, You could stick several people in the bubble with him/her at the same time and reduce the time on several pregnancy's at once. If you shave 2 months off total and then allow for the last 4 months to be rest in the year you could safely have a woman do a Baby a year for several years. As Long as you don't mind being a sick monster that needs to die. Really good villain, I knee Jerk hate him/them with a Passion already..
-
I just try to think of things I would have a villain do in a Campaign. Bendalloy is beautifully game breaking for most of my villains.
-
Honestly? Bendalloy Bubble accelerated Child Breeding with lil Hitler youth program.

No That about covers it.

Thank you. I look at the whole Cosmere from the perspective of an experienced and avid Gamer. Both Player and DM/ST. And I have noticed in a few cases it makes me blind (A love triangle between Adolin, Shallan, and Kaladin was not something I picket up on in my first two readings of the text. Only a theory post here made me even notice it.) I like to think it helps me notice things others miss because Brandon is an Avid gamer and not everyone here is. Good storytelling means you never throw anything out as impossible. Your players will figure out how to do it and abuse it if you think like that. Borrowing from that line of thought. As a writer I do not see how you could throw anything out. Even "Broken" things. Sooner or later everything is relevant.
-
The 2008 quote is that they are broken for now but could be resurrected. I always read RAFO as Read And Find Out Meaning that there is now something going on that will be explained. IE they matter.
