  1. The same Should apply to Steel lines how ever we only have an Iron line example. The question of how powerful you have to be for this edge to manifest becomes my next question. Does it require a little practice, A lot of Practice, or Savant level to reach this edge?
  2. Many are Incline to think that it would though what that charge would hold is not something anyone can agree on. There are also several Theories on what fLerasium would be. The best theory I have heard on fLerasium was the idea that it will contain raw Feruchemy that anyone can tap to become a Feruchemist but Brandon RAFO's most questions on the subject of Lerasium's uses in Feruchemy and Hemalurgy.
  3. I can actually see this a valid component of the theory I posted. Past and insecurity bring on the change to an epic in some way as an overall theme actually makes sense.
  4. I was also looking at this after re reading Stealheart and Mitosis and was thinking along similar lines with a few changes I would like to run past you. What if its not hatred but Self Loathing that makes an Epic? I was not strong enough. I was not fast enough. If only I could see the future. If only I could run the whole band myself. Feelings of self doubt, Personal inadequacy, and regret as the baseline for an epics powers. With the use of those same powers specifically easing their doubts and personal pain or regret. This theory would require more information on the past of epics like Steelheart and the Prof. but it makes sense in regard to psychology. Many people after experiencing trauma deal with the stress of these situations by imagining how it would have gone differently If Only. This would also explain many of their weaknesses. If only someone did not fear me I would have an equal, If only I could step into the light I would not feel like a ghost, If only I did not hate this music I could play what I want. This becomes a personal issue for the Epic to overcome, Developing powers and abilities to compensate for trauma becomes the influence of an Entity trying to help without understanding human's and there nature. It tries to ease a creatures mental pain by easing the feelings that cause it. The human gains confidence and power. But looses the feelings that help keep them grounded in reality and stable socially. Megalomania sets in, and with the physical changes to compensate for what they lack they become 'evil'. This even explains gifters. Sometimes trauma is related to wanting to help others, Look at profs fast healing, physical damage shield, and Tensor powers. Now imagine someone like that in a disaster area like 9/11, He can help the trapped and pained. both himself and other rescue workers and even the victims. My only problem with my theory is that it ties everything up a Little TOO neatly. I do not think of myself as anything more than an ST or GM most days so the fact that it ties up everything so well feels suspect to me.
  5. Well as Hemalurgy only rips of and store's pieces of a spirit web maybe it would only store the Strongest part of some ones Identity? This kind of thing really needs a WoB to get any real concrete Ideas.
  6. That's possible. But it begs several questions that we don't have answers to as Hemalurgy's exact effects are still not all out there. Aluminum by the way steals Allomantic Enhancement Metals. Metals we don't know the powers they grab Are: Chromium, Nicrosil, Electrum, Cadmium, Bendalloy, Alloys of Atium, and Lerasium. Since Chromium and Nicrosil are Spiritual/Enhancement metals stealing Identity may be within there powers but I would have to wonder if that would be alright for the person using those spikes. Mood changes at the very least would be possible and its more likely that if the spike was powerful enough it would over power the host and replace their personality with its own. With a copper spike for the Doners memories...... *Shiver*
  7. Yes you would need to be a twinborn. And if you had some one else Feruchemical gold that they survived/restored spiking out and can compound infinite charges that you can use as its the same feruchemy source sounds a very useful way to make some horrible monsters. That said I Think the process would be a little more involved to copy Feruchemical gold. Things to consider are: 1) Can they still use the Feruchemical gold charges they made in any way prior to spiking out the trait? 2) Will Hemalurgy Spike out traits your getting from a spike and not your natural soul web? 3)Could some one else burn your Hemalurgical spike if they had Your allomantic power? They may need something like another Feruchemical gold spike with charges of Feruchemical gold from another Feruchemist or something else equally convoluted to make it work. That said once you had the first 3 Spikes made I see no reason you would have an issue making and passing this power on infinitely and compounding metal minds for others to use to pass traits back. All of that said this sounds both extremely evil and Highly world breaking, there is no way Harmony would not become involved.

On your specific instances: 1) Your correct on that point. 2) The rule for Duralumin assume you're going to only burn it with other metals and at that in an emergency as it will deplete other metals when used and not continually use it. Considering its burn rate is instant that makes some sense. 3) It was noted by Vin about Zane and even acknowledged by the Inquisitor Kesler fought that the ability to push/pull on metals at spots other than their centers of mass was a very High Level of Skill with Pushing and Pulling. @Incheoul No. And I did not say wrong. I said Incomplete and off base. Not Incorrect. There may be a way to use Investiture to Enhance Alloymancy. Considering the Many feats of the Lord ruler this is not outside the realm of Possibility. How ever at the Time of the Alloy of Law At least there are no mechanics that would allow anyone to do this. Alloymancy can be used to Enhance Fulcrimency easily as a Compounder how ever the situations where it goes the other way are Highly specific. Things like crasher twinborn where the strength of your push is altered by your weight.
  9. We have an example of someone raised on another world with different values coming to Roshar and doing exactly what your talking about with Vasher/Zahel being a Warrior Ardant.
  10. Granted, Your now a Mistwraith unable to become a Kandara even when Hemalugical Spikes are used. I Wish for any endeavor I undertake to make enough money for my families needs.
  11. Incomplete and off base. Nicroburst Allomancers are supper chargers for other Allomancers. Soulburst (Twinburn with double Nicrosil) are able to manufacture other types of Investiture and the only ones barring a full blooded Terrisman by the Alloy Of Law who can access several different types of Feruchemical charges. They can make any charge they have learned but not store it. It has to be used then. And in the rules its a 10:2 ratio to make with a 1:1 pool to enhance. Sense the burn rules only allow you to burn a Number of Feruchemical charges at once equal to your Allomantic rating and the max for that is 10 at most you can manufacture 20 charges of any Feruchemical charge and then combining it with with other storage come out to 40 charges. when most twinborn compounders can make 60 charges on a brand new character that sounds bad until you take in the utility of this ability by the AoL era. No one else baring Hemalurgy can access multiple charges and 40 charges of gold in the game is enough to "You lose all Serious Physical Burdens; instantly recover 2 Health; immediately overcome a debilitating illness like the flu; or flush a simple poison from your system."Its very powerful when used in conjunction with fNicrosils ability to destroy the charges that others have saved in there metal minds and aNicrosils ability to send Allomancy into over drive. While I know that the MAG is not the final word on this I personally expect a Soulburst to be even more powerful then this if still in the same vein because it makes sense mechanically with the underpinnings we have seen of Alloy of Law.

  13. I just checked my copy of the MAG and there is a note that the Enhancement Metal's are not well understood but there is nothing about this being where they went off on there own. I also do not thing that as Brandon is a gamer him self he would have let them Print anything that was right out WRONG. Scaled down power wise sure. But not printing things that are mechanically not how the universe works at all. This (Which was actually something you quoted Moogle) Makes it pretty clear that while its not easy energy from one source can be converted to another. So in the Rules from MAG of fNicrosil storing Raw fInvestiture processed from other types is probably accurate. The numbers may not be correct in there 2:1 ratio with a 1:1 spending limit but the actual effect described makes sense. If YOU have investiture of another type you as a Fulcimist can tap your Raw Investiture to Double the amount of a particular type of investiture available to you. Its difficult. requiring 3 separate powers that are hard to get in the same human but it can be done.

While its true that shards exist in all three realms I remember reading something that Implied that each shard Governed a specific one and that both Ruin and Preservation were specifically shards that governed the Physical realm which is why the spiritual and cognitive realms of Scadrial are so hard to access. I'm looking for the WoB on the subject and I'm not saying I'm right. What I am say is that Patterns like this tend to repeat and that while not all shards have opposits they may have..... Similarities that tie them together into groupings. Physical strengthening and physical sense are not opposite in Tin/pewter but pushing and pulling are. And they are all physical actions.

Even the most learned Feruchemical scholars don’t fully understand the nature of this ability, but some believe stored investiture is the rawest form of personal potential— the primal root of a Feruchemist’s ability. In practical terms, this exceedingly rare metal grants the very potent ability to transform a stored characteristic — such as weight, strength, sight, or the like — into a “generic” source of power called “ investiture.” The Feruchemist may then tap investiture to augment nearly any other tapped ability, from physical strength to mental speed and beyond. In this way investiture is the most potent enhancement available in Feruchemy, a reserve of pure, universal power that can amplify nearly any Feruchemical effort. Nicrosil’s promise becomes even more astounding in relation to the many sources of great power in the Final Empire (like the Well of Ascension or the mists). Theoretically, a character exposed to one of these might be able to transform and store its seemingly limitless power, putting near-godlike power at his or her disposal. Fortunately, no Feruchemist in known history has been in this situation, but if ever there was something for the Lord Ruler to strive for... While this is by no means WoB on the subject I take it to mean that a Nicrosilmind wipes out the characteristics of ANY investiture directed at it. meaning that they will just get Feruchemical nicrosil. That said the rules for tapping are also clear in that when tapped with any other type of investiture the charges of Feruchemical nicrosil become that type. Meaning that you might be able to Create breaths or storm light WITH Feruchemical nicrosil as long as you already have some........

Hello, While I know that there is not a WoB on specific shards other then those that we have met and that questions about them tend to be RAFO I was wondering if anyone had theories on the 7 shards we don't know. I ask because of a thought I had while reading the letter Where is love? We know that the shards are parts of Adonalsium and that this was a godlike being responsible for creating worlds. We also know that shards can exist in opposition to each other such is Ruin and Preservation and that there names are based of action or intent. While reading the MAG and AoL RPG books I was struck by how well each power complimented its opposite and some of the descriptions of shards and there nature. We also know thanks to Wax in AoL that the "Rule of 16" Holds true as a sort of natural law of the Cosmere The world exists in 3 plane. The Physical, Spiritual and Cognitive. We also know that the shards shape or affect these aspects. As such the pushing/pulling Internal/external tables and groupings should be usable to infer certain shards natures if not their abilities. Physical: Preservation Ruin Cultivation Unknown Spiritual: Devotion Honor Cognitive: Dominion Hybrid? Endowment Dominion 6 Unknowns This lead me to believe that there should be an opposition to odium. A "Push" to His pull that would exist some where in the Cosmere and that these as internal would have external members of there grouping. Has anyone else Though about this or have a WoB on the subject? With 9 filled out if these rules hold there should be a way to infer traits about the other shards......
  17. @king of nowhere Its stated that Spikes can only hold one Attribute at a time and that using an already charged spike to gain an Attribute removes the old attribute. I personally doubt that this works as Hemalugy steals attributes from your victims soul web via touching their blood. We know that removing a spike removes the Attribute so more then likely this just kills the victim sense the ability is Grafted onto them and not permanently a part of them. Even if it did work I don't think there is a good reason for it as Hemalurgy is an end negative art breaks down the ability it passes on and would weaken said attribute even further. Now if the RAFO on burning Hemalurgy spike's ends up with the theory of attribute transfer being correct..... That could be useful.
  18. We have a WoB some where that Hoid has not lived through the whole time sense Adonalsium was shattered. Some sort of Time skip or Hibernation effect. Its very possible that he was in this state while TLR was killing alendi and Ascending. Hoid Admitted to not knowing everything and/or being blind sided by events in WoR so its not a far stretch that he could have been asleep or elsewhere during during Alendis time.
  19. Its worth noting that the dynamically opposed shards actually make Sazed extremely terrifying. Fission and Fusion are Opposing effects in nature. But Star's would not exist without both happening within them at the same time. I expect that Sazed will work the same once he has it figured out. Being able to Sustain powerful effects over extended periods unlike other shards temporary bursts of power.
  20. MAG is worth it and so is Wrought of Copper. However I'm going to say that my personal opinion placed AoL above MAG because of how much more accessible it is to people who have never read the Mistborn trilogy. Trying to explain the Lord rules Scadrial takes a lot more time then going "Western with these Magics, We will get up to date on backstory after I have you in love with the world."
  21. I'm planning an AoL game with the villain the PC's are dealing with looking for the now "Lost" city of Luthadel. It stands to reason that even in the MAG setting there should be some ruins here or there that PC's could be encouraged to look for then explore. And unlike me you will not have to make a really powerful villain via compounding Allomantic nicrosil/Feruchemical nicrosil to make charges. Also consider the Piracy game suggested by Kurkistan. The Southern Islands are where many of the fine cloths and spices come from so its a great place for intrigue without having to be in Luthadel.

I have joined your illustrious group to pose questions on the Nature of the cosmer and its parts as I walk some initiates of mine through the realm of Scadrial during the Alloy of Law Era. Thanks to the nature of Hood and his companions in other Cosmer I expect there to be moments where I have to refer to the Errata you have gathered to make final Decisions on subjects relating to their 'Adventures' as they are so crass to call them. Hopefully during my time here I can contribute to this body of knowledge some small amount compared to what I take away. Thank you for your time. Good Day.
