The rain of eels was convenient, and she made quick work of wrapping the eels in flows of Air and sear-peeling their skin with Fire. Perfect, she thought, and cut them quickly on a slab of stone. Fresh unagi sashimi. All she needs is some seasoning, which she always carries around with her. Rummaging in her bag, her hands found and touched a small miniature of Leftinch, and she smiled. She will give this to him soon. She took out some wasabi and Japanese soy sauce and started walking to the bridge while eating, handing some sashimi to the group. This quest is one weird tunnel after another, and now another cave?

What's funny about it? I am a part of the Lords of Chaos, and you of all people should know of QuiteChaos. (Reminded of balefire, which in itself is ironic.)

Long Game 7: The Annealing of Luthadel
Quitecontrary replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Dear Shiv, you may have the name. After all, you created that House. I defer to you on this, and will change my last name accordingly if you decide to join. I did change some details (house colors), so I'll just choose another last name. Besides, if two people have the same last name, it would look like they belong to the same House even before it is assigned. And as our GM said:- 657 replies

Lord Ruler, that Google admonition is just going to haunt me now, won't it? Scholar, your sarcasm is duly noted. I'm hurt that you treat your Mistress so.

Long Game 6: Daes Dae'Mar, The Great Game

Fantastic write-up, Gamma! Rishi tiredly looked around at the remaining villagers and looked in the direction of the hut near the former inn. Her hair and face were covered in soot, and her arms were riddled with scratches and cuts. She tried to limp towards her house to check on her brothers, her left thigh bleeding from a deep wound, when she heard them cry out her name, "Rishi!" Her three little brothers ran to her, and to the small circle of gathered villagers, and she hugged them fiercely, tiredly, relieved that they were still alive. "We stayed in the cellar, like you told us, Rishi...I'm afraid...", the youngest of the three said, putting out her arms to her so she could carry him. She did so, cringing at the pain in her thigh, and smiled encouragingly at her 3-year old brother. Light, he was too young to be witnessing this horror. "You're a good boy, Reyan.", she murmured to his hair, savoring this moment of respite. She couldn't understand why the shadowspawn stopped advancing, nor why they are even giving the village time to recover, when they were just a handful of people who can be easily crushed. She thought of the valor of Leas...wait...where's Leas? She looked at the faces of the remaining villagers and couldn't find him. She walked unsteadily towards Douza who was leaning on his huge hammer, and asked him where Leas was. He looked around and said, "Trimat..." under his breath. She felt a chill then, caused not by the wind, nor by the Trollocs waiting to ravage the village. They had one more job to do. To kill a Darkfriend. Trimat, who should be buried under the crap he tried to sell.- 503 replies

Long Game 7: The Annealing of Luthadel
Quitecontrary replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Quitania Elariel née Raisaal stepped into the ball fanning herself slowly, and walked almost gliding on the shiny marble floors. Her teal gown embroidered in dark crimson and silver diamante swished softly as she looked at the guests who arrived. She was early, and originally didn't plan on attending the Heron House ball, but duty called. These were dangerous times, but to speak of the danger made one appear weak, and that, Quitania was not. She had been widowed twice, and rumoured to have killed both her husbands, but nobody could prove anything since both of them died behind locked doors, and during the time she was away from the keep. Too young by far, she was still in a position to make a good match. But that remains to be seen if any of these fops were even worthy of her ambition. She nodded to her steward to go and took a drink from a roving servant and put it down without drinking. She sat in a corner with her back to the wall, to see who else deemed it necessary to answer the summons. EDIT: Name and house colors.- 657 replies

"Anyone hungry? Eels make me crave for Japanese! I'd love to have some unagi sushi right now.", she said as she fished in her bag for portable cooking equipment. "Hey Scholar! Catch me some of those unagi will you?", she yelled at the Scholar being circled by the eels, no care whatsoever in her face for his life.

I actually did Google it and nothing spiritual came out of the results. Thank goodness we are not on Roshar. The idea of a nahel bond with you, Scholar, is worse than being tied upside down while flames singe my hair and my skin peels off to be eaten by waiting Trollocs below. You must be quite joyful at that image though. -- My apologies to the thread creator. We have grossly digressed from the profile pic discussion.

As they rounded a corner, the sound of running water assailed them. "How?--", the Mistress turned to the Raven King, who just shrugged as if to say there are mysteries beneath his castle that even he is not aware of. Big river rocks started appearing beneath their feet, and soon, they saw a lake with a small waterfall, and at the end of the lake, is a set of stone steps leading to a plateau. "Do we swim now?", the Mistress asked the group, pointedly looking at the Scholar who started the quest.

You are bound to me because of the Wafflerasium, Scholar, not because of my sdna. What does the S stand for, btw? Special? Sticky? Sick? Sexy? He definitely is very contrary to what a Scholar Slave should be. Bad slave. If there was a contrarinessspren, he would be it.
-
Which is why all new members should read the Welcome to 17th thread that includes how the site is laid out, what are the rules, etc. It's very helpful in figuring out stuff around here. It is awesome like Fight Club.
-
I would like to request for one, but seeing that my slave, Leftinch is patterning his profile pic from mine, am reluctant to do so. But I would like some suggestions.
-
This is a fair point, and I didn't wish to antagonize anyone with my criticism. I was going to quote examples of what I considered "lazy" questions and "curiosity" questions, but then thought it might be overkill. Again, the point I'm trying to make is that it is easy to find information here. The Coppermind alone can suck you in and make you obsess about the Cosmere.
-
Child, instead of asking questions whose answers are easily searchable, you may try and do two things first: 1. You can google it. Let me Google that for you. 2. Or more preferred here is to read the Coppermind which was so painstakingly put together by the best minds of 17th shard. We wouldn't want their efforts wasted now, do we? They have a whole section for Elantris which you can refer to should you need to know more. I am compelled to admonish you on this fact since I have observed that you have taken to simply asking questions that you can answer yourself at a click of a button. There are a lot of helpful people in 17th, but there are also a lot of resources that you could have used to answer most of the questions that you have. Note that I am not bashing you and this is not a hate post. I just would like to see more effort in terms of actually reading and appreciating the information available to you here, instead of just being lazy (yes, it is laziness) and asking the question. RP: I understand that my Scholar Slave has the most helpful soul and will keep answering your questions. But he is mine now, and I am tempted to forbid him to answer questions you can answer yourself. But I will not do it, because it might break his mind. Scholar, help the Child help herself, instead of always coming to the rescue like she is a helpless kitten. She is supposed to be a queen.

Are we sure that only Trimat is left of the DF's after we lynch Khamsi? I don't have to vote for her anymore so I'd be interested to know who is next.- 503 replies

As the Mistress walked with the group, she contemplated on her new slave's curious movements. He is hiding something from her. She can't go preying on his thoughts though, because he isn't fully hers. Ravenskeep is home to many artifacts and this may be the reason why her slave is finding it necessary to run around like a Tasmanian Devil. She decided to wait it out and see what he has planned.

I won't find anything in it, because I'm not going to experiment on a sample. We need you whole and conscious for these experiments to work, Slimy. *dumps the sample in a trash bin and washes her hands. Also, the laboratories are in a different place in the Kitchens. Quite far from the waffles, so Princess Delightful, you have nothing to worry about. Slime on waffles is NOT an example of a culinary masterpiece. Oh, beautiful. I so approve.
-
I only remember the Litany against fear.

Well done, Mat. Receive an upvote!
-
Very well then, Princess Delightful, I would like to ask for your permission to include Duke Slimy in our exclusive Wafflerasium tests. Note that the Wafflesworn will not be liable for any and all side effects incurred from the tests, which can on the upside potentially increase the Duke's powers, or or on the downside, reduce him to pliable goo forever and ever. What say you?
-
Such an honor to be upvoted by highprinces - the Highprince of Ponies, and the Highprince of Cutlery. So Slimy, how do you manage to move in NC? Ice and slime don't work well together so do you have to stay in just one place in the palace to stay gooey and warm? I forgive you for the downvote. After all, accidents CAN happen. Innocent things like pressing the wrong button, tumbling down the stairs, opening a door to the kitchens and finding a table ready for you. I'd love to experiment. Freeze you, cut you to little pieces, warm the pieces in the fire, and put you back together.
-
The Mistress was about to step in through the gateway and stopped when she saw the Duke Who Called Himself Slimy. Frozen Slime. She suppressed a laugh and let the gateway wink out without visiting. Newcago was getting more curious looking members by the day.

It looks like we are united in that we are both creatures of the dark. Remind me why you are my nemesis again?

Long Game 6: Daes Dae'Mar, The Great Game

Dellan took his time going. I think I spent most of my Dragon's Fangs scrawling it on his gut, but it never took. This result is so satisfying. And I'm going to get an RP in before all this concludes. The end is near. -- Rishi tucked her brothers in, and made for the stairs. She had taken to making them sleep in the basement now, ever since the killings escalated and the villagers were picked off one by one like hunters shooting off sitting ducks. She put a rug by the trapdoor, snuffed out the candles, and went to the kitchen to get a stool and a knife sharpener. Then, placing the stool near the door, she checked the locks and bolts on the door and windows to assure herself that they were secure. The hut they were living in was newly repaired, and she knew that no amount of bolting or knives or locks will keep Trollocs out. Trollocs were the substance of nightmares, and Rishi was scared to her bones. She sat on the stool, put the whetstone on her lap and started sharpening her knives. Being the eldest, and a girl at that, she had learned to defend herself well, but she didn't know how long she could manage against Trollocs. She thought about the mistakes they made, the accusations thrown towards innocents, and she sighed. Light, there were whispers of Darkfriends, but they themselves were guilty of killing off their own. She couldn't make herself go to work now, even if she can technically serve so long as there are tables and people who would like a hot meal and a drink. But her trepidation came from the new innkeeper, Mistress Khamsi. She trusted and supported her. And like everyone else, it looked like she'd been betrayed. As she ground the blade against the stone, she found herself thinking about tomorrow. If she survived the night, someone would get lynched by daytime, and it looked like that someone was the gleewoman. The thought of the Domani woman dying, after the wonderful recipe she shared, after rebuilding the Spruce Thicket, after finding a new friend, was such a waste that it truly upset her, and she lost her concentration and cut herself on the newly sharpened knife, her blood wetting the stone. She sucked her finger to stop the bleeding, and told herself that Darkfriends must die. Even Darkfriends who make wonderful waffles. Not minding the sting, she continued working, and mumbled, "Khamsi must die" over and over. When she finished, the stone was wet with blood and inexplicably, her tears.- 503 replies

Oh God, not Pandas. They're too cute. What will we do with them? Tickle them to death?
