  1. Other surgebinders say a single sentence and Dalinar gives a whole speech, a little clarification won't hurt edit: Checked the thread about new ideals. Taking responsibility and not giving away his pain are stated as ideals, yet those two sentences are not sequential, so either he said more than one or an Ideal can be a essay. 'My glory and my shame' is also signed as an ideal and it wasn't even in the speech, but in in-world OB. If it's the same oath, writing it in three different ways without explanation doesn't help people come to the right conclusion especially when the first post is about a sharder who asked for new oaths and got two quotes from Dalinar. However, 'I am unity' isn't mentioned as a new Ideal.
  2. I imagine you'd need to put your mind towards summoning Plate, Blades don't appear automatically either. Granted, the spren tell the Radiant he can 'stretch forth thy hand' and get a Blade now, but if the Plate is made of mindless minor spren, they can't say anything. Back to how many Oaths - in WoR there were also speculations how many Ideals Dalinar said and if 'I will unite instead of divide' and 'I will bring men together' were two different, but Brandon later clarified those count as one ideal. This could be him yet again unintentionally confusing us. I think it's a fair criticism to say if we can't tell how many oaths Dalinar swore and what exactly is the Oath once again, Brandon should be more careful about these things in future books.
  3. Elsecalling is said to be imprecise, so may be portable transportation fabrials aren't feasible and only fixed ones like the oathgates work. Otherwise we should have seen Radiants arriving with those instead of flying in the visions. But it will be nice if there is something else, too.
  4. Like the Oathgates?
  5. Wait, is that even allowed? To say three Oaths in a row If Dalinar lived on Earth, he'd be a hacker We need a WoB on how many Oaths Dalinar said.
  6. Here are some relevant WoB regarding Shallan: Not exactly sure how both of those work together since Kal broke his oath and when he swore the next Ideal he became next third level WR. But Shallan should be level 4 at least, there were people speculating she could summon Plate, but has supressed that, too. There were some other hints, too, I don't remember the thread where I read them.
  7. Here. But I'm skeptical, I think people try to macth Ash to DB because otherwise we have two LW flashback characters and no DB.
  8. She didn't exactly enter before, just peaked with her mind. That's the difference. You need either Transportation or perpendicularity to physically reenter the PR from Shadesmar.
  9. This could hint towards firespren being DB lesser spren. Following that logic, Wyndle might be cultivationspren like it has been speculated, making lifespren his cousins as mentioned above, although I'm inclined to match them with TW because of the green color. edit: Shardplates glow in the respective Order color, but they are grey in present day Roshar, so either all lost their color after Recreance or it was the glow itself that made Plates colorful in the first place. So after thinking about it, lifespren being green might not be the best criteria to judge whose lesser spren they are.
  10. Ooh, so the spren has appeared to Szeth since he says it rarely shows itself instead of not all. I've missed that completely, thanks guys! I'll look for hints. Szeth is a SB then.
  11. I can imagine him negotiating to reschedule the Final Desolation for a more convenient time
  12. Hm, I'll need to re-read it, I was under the impression NB was who Nale referred, but I could be wrong. That's a good idea. Logicspren are likely inkspren's lesser cousins.
  13. Nice job! Malata calls her spren Sparks. I don't know if Szeth technically counts as SB, because he hasn't attracted a highspren, isn't he essentially bonded to Nightblood now? You can count Ym as a deceased TW:
  14. I just considered that option You are right, remembering the forgotten is where the similarities between Adolin and Lift end, but that's enough.
  15. Yes, that's what I said - they weren't copies of each other. My post is about Adolin fitting the little we know about them. I've been in favor of Adolin becoming ED and reviving his Blade for years, so there's some confusion regarding my post. Let me know how I can improve it, because we are basically saying the same thing.
  16. Adolin is so refined he wears cologne in prison. He is a deadly warrior with supreme fashion sense. All jokes aside, Adolin is a very caring person, whose main motivation is his love for his family. Only he stepped help the prostitute (Kal being the only other who thought about that), he is very friendly and caring towards his people and strangers. He fits the little we know about ED, surgebinders of the same order weren't copies of each other.
  17. That was may be because Tezim/Ishar sounded like a completely crazy person and Dalinar knows he won't get meaningful help from him, but yes, there should have been at least a sentence on that. Did he even mention this to the others? Anyway. What I found weirder was how he glossed over the mention of Adonalsyim. I mean... He's looking for something grander than Honor, SF drops the bomb and Dalinar doesn't react.
  18. But why the secrecy then, why not tell the other spren? Especially if they wanted to prevent new surgebinders arising in the future.
  19. There's a thread how OB compares to the others and this is about which one is your favorite. I wouldn't say it's the same.
  20. Odd options - either loved it, liked it or prefer to read about somebody else. Why isn't there a 'didn't like it' option?
  21. I'm underwhelmed, too. First of all, it's been thousands of years, the 'not native' argument means nothing at this point. Just imagine if in our world everybody had to rearrange borders to fit how things were X amount of millennia ago, it's ridiculous. Even if some Orders agreed, I find it hard to believe nine out of ten would be that shaken by this info. Second, there were way more elegant ways to disband if that was all the KR wanted to achieve. Ways without mass genocide. Considering how the SF still feels, I do not think the spren had agreed to what happened as has been speculated. Not only did the Radiants not choose a non-genocidal way, but they also left behind massive amount of over-powered weapons for people to kill each other with. Why? I don't think we know the whole story, but so far it doesn't make much sense.
  22. I like this. However, I have a question - after I upvote a post, a downvote arrow appears. Does this mean I can change my mind later and un-vote posts now? Does it continue, could I upvote it again after that? I am curious, but decided not to experiment on anyone's post
  23. WoK remains my absolute favorite, and OB didn't manage to beat WoR in my chart, so I chose the last option. I hope the trend doesn't continue
  24. Lift can't breath in stormlight, it's confirmed: lift
  25. He was commanded to by the parshendi, it was their custom to send assassin in a way he can be seen, so the targer knew what was coming. After that Vargo made him continue to wear white slaughtering to ensure everybody made the connection. As to why he still does it, I thought it was for our benefit in ED, or may be a habit at this point. Otherwise I don't know.
