  1. Welcome aboard Luckat! I’ve added you to the red team.
  2. Is that a cinderblock in your pocket, or are you reading Stormlight Archive?
  3. @xinoehp512 you’re up.
  4. Your team hasn’t been given a clue yet, so there’s not really anything for them to discuss yet. That will change soon. Soeaking of which, @Steeldancer @Kered Last call to use your last guess, if you want to. If not, please say so so that the blue team can take their turn. Perhaps while making guesses in general, everyone consider indicating when you’re done. Something like:
  5. Uh... it’s been written. That’s the link I put in my last post.
  6. Be prepared for The Lord Ruler has been discussed. See page 1 of this thread. I think someone did eventually write it somewhere in the past 6 pages... also, there’s this gem:
  7. 1. Reod 2. Battle of Luthadel 3. Oathpact spreadsheet is updated You guys have 1 more guess if you wish to make it.
  8. You can make more than one guess at a time, but they will be answered in the order they are given
  9. Yes. At least, that’s what I was planning. In real life Codenames you have to discuss in the open, so it makes sense to do it that way here, too. Speaking of “mentions,” it probably wouldn’t hurt for the Spymasters to mention their teammates when they post a clue. I guess I’ll go ahead and do so now so poor Steeldancer isn’t left hanging. @Steeldancer @Kered @Jondesu also, it occurs to me now that we’ll need some way for a team to signal that they’re done making guesses and their turn is over. Often times the choice is made for them by making a wrong guess or using up all of their guesses, but many times they have simply made all the guesses they want to make that turn and wish to stop. In real life it’s a simple thing to ask if they’re done with their turn, but in an online setting that “simple” question could potentially take days to get an answer to. I’m open to suggestions on how to handle it, but right now I’m thinking a time limit might be the simplest way, though I have no idea what an appropriate time limit would be. Maybe have players signal when they’ve made all their guesses they wish to make this turn?
  10. This! I’ve wanted to try something like this since as early as LG2. The thing I love most about the anonymous accounts is there is no prejudices based on past games or whether or not the player is new. Players who have earned a fierceom reputation and players who are playing their first game are all on the same footing. That’s really cool.
  11. You’ll get the hang of it. Talk things over with your teammates, they’ll help you out. alright, Game 1 has begun! I’ve generated the keycard and shared it with Xino. A quick reminder to everyone to review the rules and stick to them as best as you can. Good luck everyone! The keycard indicates that the red team goes first, so here’s my clue: Events / 3 EDIT: some housekeeping stuff: first, for easy reference: Second, for anyone who stumbles across this thread, you’re free to join in at any time. Just post your desire to join and then we’ll assign you to a team
  12. Just looked over the grid again and none of the clues give anything away in a Oathbringer, so I think you should be fine, so long as you don’t read some of the linked coppermind entries (for characters from the Stormlight Archive like Queen Ausedan or Drehy or so on). I can’t guarantee that the clues given by the Spymasters won’t spoil anything though. As I said, play at your own risk. I will say this much (and I should anyway, regardless), for Oathbringer specifically, if any clues or comments might be oathbringer spoilers, then make sure to put them in spoiler tags and label them as such. Let’s all adhere to that Oathbringer Spoiler Policy banner at the top of the page, yeah?
  13. Nah, Kaladin is more mopey than guilt-ridden.
  14. adding you to the Blue Team! Welcome aboard! Okay, I went ahead and swapped out all of the non-cosmere references, as well as some of the more obscure/difficult codenames. Any last requests for codenames you feel should be swapped out? I'll give people a little bit of time to respond, but once we start the codenames will be locked in.
  15. Yeah it is, but that’s just part of the fun! Okay, adding you to the list. I do worry about some of the obscure words- before I generate a key for the Spymasters, should we swap out some of the harder references? Maybe reduce it to Cosmere works only? What do people say?
  16. No worries, I’m hoping that someone who has played Codenames before will volunteer, like @xinoehp512 or @Steeldancer...
  17. Well that was kind of the idea for posting the link there in the first place. Added you to the list. We now have enough committed players to start, we just need someone to volunteer to be the second Spymaster. Who wants it...?
  18. I’m going to make the cards available to anyone willing to make the effort to earn them, regardless of whether they were a backer or not. Sure, ask away! You could also try the forums over at Crafty Games’ website and/or boardgamegeek.com, especially if you need an official answer from the creators.
  19. Noted. Feel free to jump in and start playing whenever you’re ready.
  20. Come on, you know you want to... so, we nearly have enough players to start. In rereading the thread I realized that for some reason I was assuming @Extesian would be the other Spymaster, but now I see that we never actually talked about it. So really the position is up for grabs- preferably to someone who has played Codenames before. Who wants it? @Extesian ?@xinoehp512? @Steeldancer?
  21. You’ll get the hang of it. Adding you to the list
  22. Once we get enough players. I’m thinking once we hit 6 players (3 per team), and I get confirmation from Extesian that he still wants to play and be a Spymaster (or we find another Spymaster), then we’ll go ahead and start
  23. I’m also curious in where the AG signups are... But in other news, has anyone out there played Codenames? A couple weeks ago I started making an effort to get a game of Cosmere Codenames up and running in the general forums. It’s nearly gathered enough players to get going, so if anyone feels like joining come check it out. It should require significantly less of a time investment than SE does. EDIT: (apologies if this isn’t the best place to post this. I’ve long since wished that we had a proper off-topic thread over here... )
  24. Welcome aboard both of you! If @Extesian is still around and interested, then we have the bare minimum needed to play. hopefully we can recruit a few more players first. I haven’t made any effort to advertise it anywhere, so let me go spread the word a bit and we’ll see who turns up.
  25. Not to toot my own horn or to steal your thunder @The Harp Lady, but... link It’s funny how similar our lyrics ended up.
