  1. So, two problems I see. First, different types of investiture tend to interfere with each other, so it might be much more difficult to awaken an invested object like a shardblade. Second, awakening is easier to accomplish the more your object is similar to a human. A sword is not very human at all, so it would be much more difficult to awaken. I'm not sure to what extent that is true only physically or whether that translates to the other two realms. So if it is possible, I suspect it would require many more breaths than Nightblood did.
  2. 4th Dahn of the light eyes caste. But if he doesn't have light eyes would he still be in that caste? Let's separate this from kaladins actual circumstances with Amaram. Since plate doesn't change eye color, are you still considered light eyed if you win plate? Or do you just become 1st nahn (dark eyes).
  3. So, why didn't Kaladin take the shard plate and leave the blade? And if having shards makes you a light-eyes, how do they treat people whose eyes don't turn light because they only have plate? Do their kids not become light eyes?
  4. Hmm it appears to work now. Maybe it was just a circumstancial glitch.
  5. I saw this on desktop, not on mobile.
  6. I don't think so. The tone was optimistic, almost delighted at how quickly he was collecting right then.
  7. With the new quote system I can't seem to remove a quote from my comment after putting it in. Even if I leave page and come back the quote will still be there if I try to comment. Please help. =)
  8. Say what? Where did that idea come from?
  9. I assume Aimians are somehow physically connected to the cognitive realm because of the reverse shadows and the ability to rewrite their bodies with thought. Maybe they are a cross between humans and spren. As to how they are received, immortals tend to be disliked in literature and the Axies talks about completing his research in just a few more centuries. They are apparently as different from mankind as are the parshendi.
  10. I suppose that's a possibility, but the main problem I see is that it would all be one piece and he would be unable to move a centimeter. It's not like the shardblade/hammer/shield etc were flexible like spandex.
  11. You make a good point Maxal. Adolin isn't broken so there isn't room for a spren. I was just thinking though that maybe this thing with Sadeas will actually break him. Not that I'm convinced he will become a KR, but it's a possibility.
  12. If he's flying, and she's just pulling herself towards him (which would be difficult anyway based on the range) then she's essentially a sitting duck. He can fire bullets or flames or just drop stuff behind him and she'll get hit. If he's going straight up then there is not even any way for her to dodge except by shooting a coin-pouch to the side (of which she likely doesn't have more than one or two). He just needs to stay directly above her to avoid her having manueverability.
  13. I think the dawnshards were a heavy-metal band (world-hoppers from Scadrial) who turned up the volume too high when the Stormfather complained that the cacophony-spren were having trouble hearing.
  14. In writing excuses he talks a little about how when you break into full-time, or even part-time, writing you need to change so that you have an artist side and a business side. You can't be 100% about the art when it's your source of income unless you want you and your family to starve. It's all well and good for you to criticize him for not meeting your needs, but he does need to put bread on the table. Sure he has enough that he could live comfortably for the rest of his life (based on my quick googling) without keeping up his business side, but why should he? He's worked really hard to learn how to run a good business. Besides, if he alienates his fandom by not being present either at conventions/signings or in frequently publications, many will move on. Part of his energy comes from the fans, from the interaction, from seeing people enjoy his work. He always says that if he only wrote Stormlight that he would probably publish it at the same speed or slower than without the other shorter books to refresh himself.\ But have an upvote because it's sad to see people in the negatives and as a welcome to the forums. Also, have a cookie.
  15. Bridge 4. . Would you rather get marooned for two months on an island with only a Santhid for company or spend one month as a chull?
  16. I wouldn't say "certainly," as I think most of us are not certain of that.
  17. I totally agree Maxal. We don't need to make some sort of uber-powerful knight-radiant empire-faction which only includes one family. It's OK not to be a Kholin. Everybody say it with me. It's OK...
  18. Imagine what it would have been like to have killed your spren but still be carrying around the shard. The constant screaming... No wonder they dropped their shards.
  19. If Dalinar had family living in Hearthstone he would have paid a little more attention when a scumbag was exiled there.
  20. For the villain to repent there would need to be a catalyst, and by definition, the hero would be the one to bring about that change (otherwise they aren't really the hero...). But Sanderson doesn't really make preachy heroes. They don't go to the villains and teach them the right way of living, possibly because the villain would try to behead them before the second sentence.
  21. It's like that pricky feeling before a sneeze that is just slowly building and won't actually come.
  22. I've always thought the first ideal was focused on yourself and not on how you interact with others.
  23. With a recommendation like that who wouldn't agree with your theory?
  24. Wow... Just realized Wax and Wayne... Moon phases... Wow - face-palm.
