If Kaladin ends up being the Envoy that goes with Shallan and Adolin to meet with the Honorspren, his swearing could happen in Shadesmar. How would that work with the powerup? We've only seen a swearing of an Oath/Ideal on the Physical Realm and not the Cognitive. Would he somehow manifest plate there?
-
I think it is two part. First is Kaladin saying the 4th oath. Second is Rlain bonding his Spren. Kaladin reaching the next Ideal shows humans can reach that level of "commitment". Also, with Rlain it shows that the humans and Singers can unite together against Odium and they aren't necessarily using the power against each other.

This is also the first place they mention Dalinar as the King of Urithiru and not a Highking anymore. We missed a bunch of politics during the time skip.

Spiritual Illumination and Dawnshard evidence
paperstones replied to LightReader's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In regards to Dawnshards, I'm wondering if by Dawn they mean Adonalsium and by shard they mean one of the 16. If that is the case could Dawnshards be related to Odium? And those original Fabrials be connected to him and his spren?- 9 replies

I think this is foreshadowing Kaladin eventually fulfilling Jezrien's place as a Herald and Patron of the Windrunners.

So was Syl created by Honor or the Stormfather?
-
We know Syl was one of the original 10 Honorspren created by the Stormfather. Do we know if the other 9 are still around and “alive.”

I understand the KR came after. The quote below is how I see it. Tanavasat, as Honor, was the original Bondsmith. Humans referred to what he did as a Bondsmith. He then creates the Heralds AFTER he helps move them to Roshar. Either that or Ishar became Honors Avatar and did all that with part of Honors power.
-
Completely aware of this. That is along the lines of what I was thinking.
-
I agree with them being tied to Ashyn. We don’t know the process yet on how they made the trip but there had to be some Cosmere awareness for those who travelled. They were a whole people who I’m going to safely assume had a diverse culture. I’d doubt they were all just one group but multiple who made the jump. We know the Heralds became Heralds after coming to Roshar so a lot was going on at the time. I’d guess this time period is where they were established.

That is kinda my point. Of course he was greater than just a Bondsmith. This is just one part of what he could do as a Shard that was emulated after. I’m also curious if Ishar could’ve been an Avatar of Honor. Granted I have read Whitesand and don’t know much about how Avatars work but there has to be something more than a mere human who became invested with the local investiture bound the gods.

After rereading Syl's Interlude I'm starting to get the feeling that Tanavast was the first Bondsmith. That one of his powers as the Shard of Honor was a Bondsmith. Syl said, She never once mentioned Ishar. She referred to it as "A Bondsmith." If it was Ishar, who I take it was the first human Bondsmith, at some point in that paragraph she would've referred to him as the one who did it. I take that to mean Tanavast, the Vessel of Honor, was the first Bondsmith who did all of the above. If it wasn't Ishar that did it the only other option would've been Tanavast.

I feel there has to be something with the way the Honorspren were created. The Stormfather created them but most died during the Recreance. He then created 10 more which created more after that. They are also oath bound and try to follow Honors path. Honor is now dead and their created has since bonded to Dalinar. Do they feel that Dalinar and the Stormfather are moving Honors Intent away from how they perceive it to be? Does this violate their oaths they feel bound by? This is complete conjecture but I feel this may play a role.

This makes sense. We know he fills a surgeon role soon and this could help him come to terms with the death around him. He doesn’t create those deaths and it does no one any good, especially the one who passed, to assume guilt over said death. Accepting that will allow him to move past guilt and truly accept a leadership role.
-
I would assume so. I can only imagine that when all the bearers of the Shards took off after the Shattering they probably went to their worlds. I know they have moved around but I don't think, and I could be wrong, Leras and Ati moved around before creating Scadrial. There intents would've taken over too much by then and they may not have been able to work together.

Do we know where the humans from Ashyn arrived at on Roshar? We know the Singers gave them Shinovar but where did the "land" or "appear". Was it the Shattered Plains or Aimia perhaps?

This makes me wonder how Cosmere aware the Ashynites were and not just the Heralds. They had to have some knowledge if they were able to move planets. If that is the case, how much of the Cosmere has subtly influenced the cultures here that we haven't put our finger on yet? The original inhabitants had to know.

I agree, Taln or Ash could definitely come in. There is also the Mink on the ship and how they need to go and get his soldiers.

I don't think Venli will be in part 1 at all. IIRC, Brandon said part one is the "end" of what happened in the in-between time. I bet the first chapter of Part 2 is Venli. It doesn't really make sense to bring her in now with the arc that is happening.
-
I really think Formless is the "original" Shallan. Shallan was created to deal with whatever trauma brought Pattern to her. That is why Pattern is wanting her to tell her last secrets. She isn't who she thinks she is. I can't even imagine what it is that caused it.

With Renarins lumination I could see Moash finding redemption. There is the 1 other Honorspren that hasn’t bonded yet. I could see it bond with Moash. Maybe Kal “saves” Moash and that is what gets him to the 4th oath.
-
We know that Stormlight was a part of Roshar prior to Honor and Cultivation arriving. So did Honor “take over” the existing investiture or did he tap into it? If so, could the Winds be a true form of Honors investiture? This could be why Kaladin has a relationship with them outside of being a Windrunner and also him being referred to as Child of Tanavast.
-
I think this refers to those that worshipped Honor. If Odium turned them away from him and corrupted his worship that may have weakened him enough for Odium to kill him.
-
The Stormfather was there pre Honor. It was when Honor was Splintered that his cognitive shadow merged with the Stormfather.

We had Radiants before Honor was splintered therefore we had Honorspren. What if after Honor was splintered that power infused the Honorspren and made them more powerful?
