  1. I also nod down. It just feels formal and natural.
  2. Aaah! Sorry! Okay, I have to go play piano for about five minutes to do a duet with my sister, but after that, expect it in about fifteen minutes. EDIT: For the wait, I'll make it extra awesome.
  3. Ok, well, I am aware of that. I've read some of the original Question. But that's with constant new material. This is just... madness. And I've already read the first ten pages, and laughed so hysterically that my sister thought there was something wrong with me.
  4. Well, I would just laugh at it and be done if it wasn't 235 pages long. How? Why? How is there that much randomness in the world?
  5. That. I do that with my sister all of the time. Or we just stare at each other as we walk between classes, like "I acknowledge your existence but there is nothing I particularly wish to say to you right now".
  6. Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! I'm so glad you've finally decided to make an account.
  7. Yeah, guess what we're learning about in US History this week... It's depressing.
  8. If I had one wish (and I didn't wish for world peace or something sensible), I would wish that Europe had been enclosed by an invisible barrier from around 1000 BCE, so that everywhere else could grow in relative peace.
  9. I'm here! Although, as Ookla the Overdone said, you did mix me up with Elkanah. The main reason I've been gone is that I've been away with family. I considered QF11 to be a responsibility, so I made time for it. I didn't consider LG15 as such, and so I chose to spend time with my family rather than work on this. It's also the last few days of November, so I've been working frantically on my novel, which has eaten up a lot of the other time. The secondary reason is that I was worried I might mix up the two games, and have alignment associations for the players in both games, so I decided to try and keep them as separate as possible. With that said, I'm done helping (not that I did all that much-- Hael did most of it, because he'd already done that sort of thing), and I've read through the thread. I'm getting the same gut suspcions of Araris, but I'm not putting much credence to them, as I don't have anything at all to back them up. Other than that, I'm basically free of suspicions, which is irritating. Everyone is so good that they fool me completely! One thing that I noticed is that I have less suspicion of Kipper right now, because he added Cow to a group PM. I don't really see a need for that to have happened if Kipper was also in that same group. I can kind of see him adding Cow in case he died, but I think it's less likely. So there's that.
  10. Well, if you don't want the title of writer, you could always say you're an "aspiring writer". And I definitely think you could do it next year. If you wan't, there's also a thing called Camp NaNoWriMo, which is a smaller version of the same event in a April and then June, usually. Though the months occasionally change. Basically, it's the same, but you can also set your own word count goal. It's very cool.
  11. I love that second one. It's not only really beautiful, but also looks really fun to dance. I really love dancing ceilis and such, with other people. It's so much more fun to dance with other people when there are set steps, rather than just going to a school dance and standing around awkwardly...
  12. Definitely! Although I've seen both recorded versions, and I like Feet of Flames better.
  13. I have also seen Feet of Flames, as a movie. But I just saw Riverdance live, which was even more impressive. I'm an Irish dancer, you see, and I am in awe of both their flashy moves and their technical skill.
  14. Huh. Well, that's interesting. I'm 16. I have been told in real life that I'm mature for my age, though. Also, I went and saw Riverdance recently, and it was AMAZING.And then I went and saw If/Then the next night, and it was also AMAZING. And then I hit 50,000 words. It's been a good few days.
  15. For some reason, I've always pictured you as a little older. 30ish? I don't know why. A couple people know, but I'd be curious to see what everyone else thinks of my age.
  16. I just validated! I am very, very happy and excited. Now I just have to write at least 75k more to actually finish the story...
  17. Hello and welcome to the 17th Shard! I really like your picture. Have you done NaNoWriMo, then, if you're a writer?
  18. Oh, good. Right... I forgot to link to that. See here for an explanation.
  19. Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! Are you reading Warbreaker or The Emperor's Soul right now? And how have you found them so far?
  20. Well, I'm not very good at them myself, but check out springhole.net, particularly here or here.
  21. I haven't thought of anything, either. I think they'll do fine.
  22. Well, a couple of people like Selea, anyway. And I'm imagining it as SelEHa, not SelEEa. And I also like Sela, but it always makes me think of Sel. So that's a bit distracting for me. (Says the person who named someone Tiel for the parallels to Tien... )
  23. Hey, one of my characters is currently named * until I figure out what I want. Hey, maybe someone can help! It's for the personification of Night, in a primeval, not-evil sort of way. My current four choices are: Sila, Selia, Sela, and Selea. Opinions? Which one sounds ancient and unknowable? Which one sounds dark and/or mysterious?
  24. Meallin was beginning to worry. The earlier fervor of accusation had died down to only murmurs. Everyone was drowsy, although they couldn’t completely sleep with the threat of death hanging over their head like a sharp sword. Several people had been missing for quite a while. Some had gone out to look for them, but no one had come back yet. A draft of freezing air reached him, and he looked up to see Borter Clams and AL stumble in the door, with a couple of the people who had gone out to rescue them. “Guess what we found outside, again,” one of them said, too encrusted with snow to be identified. “Three bodies.” “Who?” Meallin asked with idle curiosity. “Aim,” Locke said. “Remember that butter knife he always carried? It’s currently stuck in his heart.” “Citona and Seixa were laid to either side of him, frozen to death,” Merad said. “They looked like they had almost reached the outpost, but didn’t quite manage it. We tried to revive them, but they were too far gone.” Meallin sighed. “Burial detail, you know what to do.” Jain looked up with a start from where he was lying in a corner… was he scrawling on the floor with that claw? “What were you just doing?” Meallin asked with deceptive calmness. “Have you been carving my walls?” Jain grinned, but didn’t answer, instead turning towards the door. “Is he the one that wrote that message that I had such a hard time deciphering?” demanded AL. “Once you finish burying those bodies, why don’t you bury yourself, too?” Jain shook his head and waited for AL to open the door for him. He squeezed out of the door with some difficulty, as Meallin said, “It might not have been him. Stink could have written that message, and I’m pretty sure there’s a third kayana around somewhere. Speaking of which, if I find them…” He let his voice trail off menacingly, then went back to finishing off his pie. A while later, there was a scratching at the door. “That’ll be Jain,” said Meallin. “AL, can you open the door?” “Why should I?” she said defiantly. “He caused me hours of wasted work.” “It might not have been him,” Meallin repeated. “I say we don’t let him in anyway,” said Kaloo. “He’s been eating enough to feed the rest of us combined.” Everyone nodded in agreement, and AL didn’t get up to open the door. Meallin didn’t bother, either. There was nothing to be gained from a kayana panda who ate all the food, except strangeness. No wonder we’re not catching any Cultists. Everyone’s kayana! _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Bridge Boy was killed. He was a Regular Trader!
