  1. I see. That is difficult. I haven't read the last two Alcatraz books, either, or Infinity Blade. But I do recommend at least trying to get the Cosmere short stories, because they are excellent. I think it's possible that Dangerous Women might be around somewhere, so you could maybe at least read Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. Sixth of the Dustk/Shadows Beneath might be a little more difficult. There are also some short stories online, which you might have seen.
  2. Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! Which books have you read?
  3. There are some short stories online for free: The Hope Of Elantris, a short story that takes place during Elantris (this is Cosmere, obviously); and then Firstborn and Defending Elysium (my personal favorite), which are both non-Cosmere. The other short stories are available in ebooks or anthologies generally, and two of them are Cosmere: Sixth of the Dusk, Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell (both Cosmere), and Mitosis (Reckoners short). I might be missing one, though... So there you go.
  4. I approve of your use of Avengers pics. Have you read any of the short stories then?
  5. Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! I do like your username. Which Sanderson books have you read?
  6. I would recommend at least reading the beginning (Ainundale and Valaquenta, basically the first two chapters) and then a few chapters of the Silmarillion, at the beginning (ch.1-3 in particular, up until Orome comes among the Quendi). Then Chapter 8 and chapter 11 would also be good. Those are the basic chapters involving the gods. If you don't want to read the ones in between (which are more about the elves), just ask me and I can summarize them. Those should be good enough, though you might also be interested in Earendil, way in chapter 24.
  7. You totally may! I would be glad to help. Have you read the Silmarillion? You're welcome, Mashadar! Melian is great.
  8. Here.My sister refuses to read any Brandon Sanderson simply because I'm obsessed with it. Argh.
  9. You're welcome! Sorry, I tend to recommend Broadway to people regardless of their normal genre. Also:
  10. Here! Have a song from If/Then! https://youtu.be/IiqiSEc1Msc
  11. I also feel like steph is innocent, but I have no proof other than the tone of her posts. I do think a scan isn't without merit, though, so I will vote for Steph to be scanned. I was not role blocked. I believe Wyrm PMs you.Other than that, I don't have much to say. I haven't PMed anyone for a few days, so I don't have any extra information or suspicions that aren't from the thread. Nor do I particularly wish to mistvote anyone, because I don't know anyone so suspicious that I think they should be killed. That's about it, I guess...
  12. Ooh, good luck! I'm doing a very similar thing, actually. I've signed up for DeCoDo (December Cool Down), which is basically NaNoWriMo a month later, and you can choose your own wordcount. I chose 40,000, so I'm planning on writing 1000 words every day until school's out, and then catching up at that point. Very cool! The first draft almost always sucks. And don't worry about ripoffs. My first story was a Harry Potter ripoff with a Mary Sue female MC and dragons. Also a lot more complications that were really unnecessary. Also, I would really suggest listening to Writing Excuses, which I've found to be extroardinarily helpful.
  13. Okay, Mashadar. I had to put priority on helping a depressed friend, so I couldn't get to you then. But I can now! I'm seriously considering rewriting random bits of the Silmarillion with memes... I'm not very good at them, but it is very memifiable.
  14. I suppose that's a fair point, but this is just random randomness. That is randomness on a topic. This is... ... ... vroom vroom
  15. Great job Venture! Who needs sanity when you can have SPARKLES?, the stars spelled out. There was a flash, and suddenly everything was completely covered in red and green glitter.
  16. Wow. That's really impressive. Also, Gabriele, I really like it. If you want to (no pressure if you don't), I'd totally be willing to read more of it. It's that good.
  17. Elbereth descends in a cloud of glittering stars, looks around, and disperses in confusion into a heap of whirling lights in the shape of a question mark. What even is cyclopean geometry?
  18. I'm sorry. It's my fault. I responded first.BUT I DO NOT REGRET IT.
  19. You might find Camp more suited to you, if you can't get to the full 50,000. I've actually signed up for an unofficial 40,000 this December, because I need to keep working on my story...
  20. Great job! You did it, however it happened.
  21. You pull it out of your pocket, hoping for one last bit of charge, but when you click the button to turn it on, it explodes into an enormous rainbow light display, and liberally sprinkles you with confetti and paint splatters. You are now confused.
  22. Aw, guys. I didn't do that much! If Hael hadn't set up everything the first day, I wouldn't have known what to do. I could write, sure, but I write all the time. The hardest part was more keeping everything organized in my head and not forgetting everything (which I did end up doing a couple times over, when I posted Cycle 6). But it was really fun to do, so I'm glad I got to, regardless of how much I actually helped.
