Well. I voted Megasif mainly to see what reactions there would be, and I don’t know what to make of the results. On the one hand, this: Feels like an elim hoping that Megasif might get lynched, especially with her being in danger as well. On the other, a train built up on Elk rather strongly - I doubt he’s evil, and I suspect there are eliminators in that vote, but I don’t know whether they’re trying to protect Megasif or Zillah or just didn’t think they could get away with lynching Megasif or what. This also reads evil to me, not sure I can explain why. So I think Zillah and Kidpen are my current suspects. I doubt it’ll make a difference at this point, but I’ll vote Kidpen (since I’d rather not lynch Zillah immediately after she came back, which is something that should be encouraged). More likely to vote Zillah next cycle though.

It’s not a poke vote - I’m not just going to take it off if Megasif posts or whatever. It’s also not strictly random (but isn’t backed up with reasoning nearly as much as I’d like, thus saying I’ll come back later with more analysis, which I do intend to do) HAH I TOLD YOU FURA

Uh, fyi, y'all... I just accidentally merged cycle 2 into the long game instead of this game. >> Oops. So I'm hoping Wilson can fix it, but until then if you're looking for it that's where it went. EDIT: Okay, it'll be fixed within the hour. EDIT2: All better now. Whee, inactivity. Sorry for not being on yesterday. I wish I felt like I deserved to be in that list. And the elims clearly agree, at least with BR being a useful villager... I'd rather not lose Sart next, so if anyone has a medikit I'd recommend him as a target. I'm growing somewhat less suspicious of TGK, I think. (The tunneling part of me says 'he killed BR because he couldn't put enough suspicion on her!' but I'm pretty sure that's just the tinfoil hat.) Which is annoying, as I don't have much to replace it with. I'm currently not very suspicious of Aman - I think were he evil he'd be a little more active / would be using the activity he has to try to guide the thread more. @The_Archivist Yeah, that's basically right. Poke votes are generally votes that you're doing to make someone post, rather than out of genuine suspicion. That said, I'd recommend if you can finding a vote which is genuine suspicion, because we're late enough in the game that we kind of need that. Striker said, what, five cycles until LyLo? We're a bit better off from Rae's death (and not having a lynchee this turn), but we're still getting along - just doing the rough math in my head, we've got 3 or 4 more cycles assuming no inactives die. Which in fairness none have yet, but... Even of the people who've posted again several have just been like 'hi I'm here' without adding much content, which makes the game an easy elim win if they end up being the last ones left alive. Blahh there's not enough information to figure out what to doooo. I'm going to throw a vote down on Megasif almost entirely at random and try to come back later with something. (I'd also consider voting Fura, but that's more because I can't read him than that I think he's suspicious.) EDIT: RP!! Crepuscula had always hated her name. It sounded like an obscure genus of birds, or maybe a human body part. And it didn't shorten well either - Crep? Creppie? Scula? Puscula? There was no combination that made it better. She still stuck with it, but she hadn't told anyone but the leader of this group her name. No need to subject herself to even more embarrassment. They just saw her as the weird girl with knotted hair and a bow as tall as she was, and that suited Crepuscula just fine.

While we told y'all the cost of your tuition last turn, we didn't actually... subtract it from your totals? I'll send you your actual current money shortly. Oops.

This is incorrect. Fae Lore is an action which you can use, and will roleblock a Skindancer if that is your target. It is not passive. (I also had this misunderstanding, though, so I apologize for not going back and making the rules clearer on that point.) EDIT: Also, Kynedath was brought on the Horns and charged with Undignified Mischief. Whoops.

LG65: Term 4 Month 1 - Drink With Me Lin Wa stood in front of the other Masters. He stared at the robe being held out to him. I’m not nearly put together enough to be a Master! I can’t even remember my notebooks. He took the robe anyway and put it on. He didn’t want to upset the Masters. Maybe it’d be interesting? The days were warming, now, winter snows melting to slush. Bright green grass was revealing itself from beneath the snow, and the air smelled of change. Also, it rained. A lot. A lot. The rain poured down almost every day, flooding the streets in a few less-than-well-drained locations. Students tramped about miserably, doing their best to protect their precious papers and books. Even the Fishery sprung a leak, which was caught quickly but nonetheless became the talk of the school for a few days. The chemicals inside were volatile enough that had the water not been caught... well. Bad things could have happened. Catalan especially hated the rain. It was horrid and muddy and got all over his clothes no matter how much care he took. He felt like it was slowly driving him mad. Maybe I am, he mused. Seems to be at least two students in a term, and we haven’t had the second one yet... What if it is me? What if this rain is going to slowly drive me insane until I go to the Crockery? I’ve been feeling weird lately, been all scattered... His heart rate started to pick up. Maybe something got into the rain - no, but then everyone would be affected, not just me. Maybe it’s my drinking water? Catalan tensed, looking at the glass of water sitting on his desk. Was it poison? Or maybe it was something in his food - he got it from the innkeeper, it’s not like he made his meals himself. What if... what if... Oh no, and if they realize I know they’ll come after me. Silence me. But I can’t stay, either, or I’ll go mad. I have to get out of here! He ran out of his rooms, not even looking where he was going. Rushing down the stairs, he- bang “Ow,” he said weakly. “Are you alright?” said someone. “No! Get away from me!” Catalan wriggled away from the thing coming his way - maybe a hand, maybe a weird blob of flesh. He still couldn’t see well enough to tell. “Get me out of here! It’s not safe, they’re poisoning the food!” “I think you need to go to the Medica.” “Or maybe the Crockery...” “Come on, get the lad up, he clearly needs the help!” “Poisoning? I haven’t felt anything odd.” “Poor man...” The voices overlapped and spun around Catalan’s head, bouncing off the walls and getting louder and louder until he blacked out. Catalan (Coda) went insane! Maern (Xino) was brought on the Horns, but the charges were dropped! Vol (Devotary) was brought on the Horns and charged with Undignified Mischief! (again) Cadici (CadCom) was brought on the Horns and charged with Conduct Unbecoming! He will be lashed! Lyoan (Fura) was brought on the Horns and charged with Conduct Unbecoming! He will also be lashed! Kynedath was brought on the Horns and charged with Undignified Mischief! These students were elevated: Kendel (Elkanah), Straw Altiora (Straw), Lord Silberfarben, Lasko Veitch (Karnage), Vol (Devotary), Cadici (CadCom), Lyoan (Fura), Amila Tays (Zillah), Rath. Lin Wa became a Master! Okay, I see where you were coming from, and that's not what I intended to convey. I was not trying to say that the meta is correct (I think it is in this particular case, but certainly think it deserves to be challenged in general); I was trying to point out why Fura's comment felt like a jab to you. Which is because there's an obvious answer to this debate in our particular meta, and he's been around long enough that he reflected that by saying 'yeah, obviously thread would be better' or whatever. Maybe the comment could've been phrased better, but it wasn't at all trying to offend or annoy you. And, like, I do think you're sounding like an elim and I do want to lynch you. I made a whole post about it. I just don't think that PM was an indicator of suspicion - it's my opinion that it didn't help the village, but that doesn't automatically make it an elim ploy. Lots of villagers do things I disagree with all the time - Fura brought up some fine examples in his post. I disagree and here's why was all I was trying to say. I'm sorry that it came off as condescending and I can understand why the comment about the meta might've felt that way. You're perfectly entitled to disagree, and I'm decidedly not trying to stop you from doing so. I just want to explain my side and try to convince you because - obviously - I think I'm right. I hope that helped. Actual content to come later, when I'm not spreadsheeting. Bye for real this time! (probably)
-
....??? I specifically said that I don’t think the PM means you’re evil - it’s actually what’s swayed me most towards you being village! And I also said that voting for your own survival is fine and normal: I don’t understand how you misinterpreted my post that way. I was just trying to say I disagree that PMing was a good choice and clearly explain why. I’m not trying to say you can’t disagree - you totally can, I just wanted to point out that the meta of this community makes me think most people won’t agree with your reasoning. The only part of that post that involves my suspicions of you is my comment about your vote on BR. I’m actually signing off now, but I sincerely didn’t intend to make you upset nor accuse you of anything in that discussion. I hope this post makes that clear.
-
I do not have the time to go do that, so I'm not bothering. Oh, I don't at all deny that he supports them - I remember the bussing incidents he talks about, and they weren't very fun at the time. If he'd had the ability to move the lynch off Rae, I'm sure he would've tried to. I'm just not sure that he did have that ability. And I'm not presently planning on voting for him just because Rae poked him. But I do think it's exactly the sort of thing she'd do if they were evil together. And more broadly, I try to look at circumstantial evidence not from the player's own mouth really carefully, especially when it comes to people I can't read well like Aman. So this is me noting one piece of that for reference. meta stuff that isn't really about this game nor alignment specific On survival and discussion: I'm of the opinion that being hyper-analyzed is good if you're village! Not only because hopefully you'll be able to convince other people, but because then lots of the thread will have commented on you. Getting opinions of players about each other is basically the whole way we solve this game. > And maybe that results in you dying. I think that's where you're diverging from my opinion here - you're focusing a little too much on survival, imo. Voting to break a tie off yourself is one thing, and fairly normal for either alignment, but trying so hard to not be suspected that you PM the people who voted on you? That feels like a bit much to me. If I were in your position, I would try to get as many opinions about me as possible, and try to avoid my own lynch by proposing a different candidate. And if I died, then the village has loads of information! > and note that while I think trying to survive is something more common to eliminators, I'm not trying to argue here that that makes you evil. I'm just trying to explain my genuine disagreement with your actions if you're a villager. On miscommunication and defensiveness: I understand not wanting to die from miscommunication, but I a) don't think there was any miscommunication in this particular scenario, and b ) don't think you're more likely to work out a miscommunication in PMs rather than in thread? > On the defensive bit, I mean, I certainly think that PMing the people who voted on you and going 'hey can I help explain away your suspicions' is pretty defensive. I don't read it as evil, but if you're going for 'not defensive' that really doesn't help your look. everything else That vote. Does not make me less suspicious of you. Also, do you have any response to the rest of my post beyond what you quoted? I can't speak for him, but my impression is not at all that Fura's trying to pick a fight. He happens to agree with me that using a PM for the kind of discussion you did instead of the thread was not a good choice for a villager - but I suspect that that opinion will be true of most players in this game, and just seems like the obvious conclusion to him. (If I'm mistaken, please let me know!) Lynch discussion is valued, and I don't think that trying to take it to PM instead was useful, as I've explained above. I understand that you don't feel the same, but my guess is that most people won't agree with you. Let me know if anything in here doesn't make sense, or if you take offense to any of it - none of it is meant to be taken as aggressive at all, I'm just trying to explain why I disagree. Also, I'm about to head into KKC rollover, so I will be online but likely not responding much for the next few hours. Cya after that! @BrightnessRadiant I definitely think the PM thing felt village to me, which has me conflicted, but it's still my best suspicion by a long shot. If you'd like to suggest someone else, go right ahead!

Hello hello! I've finally managed to read through everything! I'll try to keep this short and succinct but it's me so we'll see how that goes. Cycle 1 Item passing is after the lynch in the cycle, probably to avoid this exact scenario - otherwise the elims would effectively have a silver powder (I could see 2 with 5 players, even?) until the end of the game and the shade roleblock would be completely useless. This way, if the one(s) with the silver powder die(s), the powder goes away and roleblocks can be a useful mechanic. Yup. That was fun! I mean.... that's less powerful than a standard Lurcher role? You get one (1) successful protect at most with them, and protects have a pretty low rate of actually working. So I'd say... at least 2, I could see 4 (or even 5 depending on the number of Knives in the game). D'aww, thanks Cycle 2 I think that's a fair critique. I'd note that I intended to do that disclaimer before the game so as not to be alignment-indicative, and honestly I threw the lynch on almost as an afterthought. I would've minded a lot less if I'd been lynched, because I can see that coming / try to argue people out of it, and it'd be on the basis of suspicion and not just me seeming like a good kill target. (I also mostly focused on the elims because the context for my request was when Wilson got killed C2 of QF40 and was Unhappy, and I didn't want that to happen in what might be the only game I play for the next month or two.) But hey, it's C3 now, so I don't care anymore. Go nuts. I think that's fair, but the lynch was fairly late in the cycle and your only post to date had been 'hey I'm here give me a sec to catch up' - I believe that you would have tried to get the lynch off of her if you had the time to be aware of the situation and write up something that wasn't blatantly just 'I trust Rae let's kill Fura'. I can't know whether that'd have been the case or not, so consider my point unchanged. this bit is the important bit just read it and ignore the other stuff k I think being concerned that one of them is evil is still valid, but people aren't saying they're more than soft cleared at best - not enough to trust blindly, just to be non-priority lynch targets for a while because the balance of evidence favors them a lot more than most people in this game who haven't done anything yet. But I'm also wary of anyone trying too hard to put some suspicion on them - if they are village, then the elims don't want a couple of trusted, good villagers running around. And it feels like you're trying to go 'no, don't treat them differently than anyone else, they're just as likely to be evil as anyone else!' - and yes, I'm aware that's not what you're saying exactly. But you're pushing back against them being soft-cleared and I don't like it. And furthermore, I don't like your reasoning - or at least, until now I didn't get the impression that your main focus was just a straight bus, and not something to do with the dead doc. Because elims wanting to be in the dead doc is.... very much a stretch to me, given how the mechanic is both nerfed and more useful to the village anyway. It feels a little bit like you're just searching for possible reasons they might be evil. Can you see why that rubs me wrong? However. FYI to the thread, TGK PMed everyone who voted on him asking for concerns / questions to try to clear things up. I'm saying that here because I think PMs aren't the place for that - that kind of discussion is exactly the kind of thing we want to see in thread for anyone to see, and contribute to / analyze later when we know more about alignments. Sure, @The_God_King, you might get more suspicion that way. You might also get more people on your side. Probably both, and that's valuable discussion. That said, that PM didn't feel like an eliminator thing to do - it really did feel like a villager acting in good faith to try to clear up things. So.... I don't know. I think I'm still going to vote one TGK, but I'm (even) less certain now than I was last cycle. tl;dr TGK is maybe suspicious for casting doubt on BR and Sart as village, Aman is Very Mildly Negative for circumstantial evidence, Sart/BR/Megasif are mildly village to varying degrees, everyone else is pretty neutral right now (getting weird conflicting reads from Fura but that's nothing new >>)
-
yo if you can’t tell from that first line I decided to go with the Stink style posting because I don’t really have the time to take this game seriously (Note: I still haven’t read C1, I will tomorrow but it’s late and I don’t want this to take three hours so you’ll get what you get) @Mist pointed out that Rae poked Aman and then took it off; that makes me lean very mildly towards Aman being evil, because if you’re going to vote on a teammate it’d be him (because he can talk his way out of Any Lynch low key still exasperated about LG61 but whatever) Haven’t gone back and read the posts though so dunno. @Kidpen If I wanted to actually prove my identity I’d just share the doc with myself but that’s boring so let’s not do actual like confirming stuff because that’s not the point @The_God_King I super disagree on the elims going after the role block. Because 1) it’s a lot easier to find more elims once you’ve found one, like a snowball effect or something 2) the roleblock just... isn’t that useful for them? Villagers can go after their suspicions and try to hit the kill but elims... they could try to hit someone with a knife, but that’s only useful if one of them is being hit anyways - a knife hit on a villager is good for them! And being able to block a protect if you know who has it is nice, but protects succeed rarely enough that it’s 100% not worth dying for. Aand I had a third one but I forgot it so moving on I guess @Furamirionind you’ve been hanging out on MU too much, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else use “sheep” as a verb on here Someone mentioned that Sart and BR are probably not both elims. I officially endorse this statement with my Seal of Approval (Elproval? There’s a better wordplay in there somewhere) Oh right @The_God_King if you think the villagers need an elim in there mucking things up in order to not be effective, I think you haven’t seen enough villages sir @Mist Encoding and decoding for every single line in a doc would take so looong my head hurts thinking about it @Karnage so basically for some people (absolutely including me even though I haven’t actually used it that much in this post) is kind of an indicator that the thing is said with a smile? So not necessarily a joke but tongue in cheek or light hearted or something like that? Whereas things said without it are Serious and Meant. Idk if that made any sense but it’s a thing and hopefully you’ll get used to it I guess? Assuming I don’t have another Unexpected Sleep (tm) I’ll be back on in the morning to post and hopefully go over C1, but for now uhh God King for trying to push the idea that the elims wanted one of their own dead for what is in my opinion a mediocre prize at best and using that reasoning to push suspicion on the villageriest players in the game right now. (I’m not saying they’re confirmed good or anything, to be clear, but “they’re soft cleared and we should probably look at other people for lynch targets for the next couple cycles” feels like enough said on that topic) Who will come back for my next post, multiquote!El or casual!El? Who knows? Certainly not me! EDIT: ALSO PM ME I WANT TO TALK

The writeup for Term 3, Month 1 has been edited in! The one for this turn will come later, since the last took ages (and also I had an unexpected nap earlier, which didn't help). Enjoy!

Hello this is the only post I've read. I assume the quote was talking about the anonymous docs after death, and unique identifiers are boring. I'm just going to be me and I dare anyone to try to copy me. Other than that I had an unexpected nap when I was supposed to be doing the KKC writeup, so I'm gonna go do that. I might be able to get a proper post together by turnover but don't count on it - something about this time tomorrow is the soonest I'll have time to properly sit down and do anything with this game. Oh, also, something I forgot to mention when I signed up - elims, please don't kill me for a couple cycles? After C2 ends go nuts if you like, but I haven't played in ages and might not be able to again before Championships start, so a C1 or C2 kill would suck for me, especially with the little amount of time I'll have to spend during those two cycles. Same goes for getting lynched during that time, but at least that I can see coming and argue about it with whoever tries - besides, I don't want to stop anyone from voting on me if they have genuine suspicion. If there's anything else important, @ me or PM me please! (Actually regardless of whether you have something to tell me please PM me. I love PMs and will probably make them with everyone when I have the time to so might as well get ahead of the curve or whatever) ....low key feel like doing a Stink esque playstyle this game now anyway bye! EDIT: OH ALSO I NEED TO RP someone please remind me to RP eventually because I can't right now but I want to

Attack attempts would not distinguish between sabotages and kills. The count is correct, though I'd recommend adding 2 Bard's to Elkanah's vote rather than leaving the reader to infer that the second vote on him is also Bard. Note on Artificery: If you create an item over two turns, only the second turn will confer the relevant insanity bonus.

I spent tonight fixing spreadsheets and going through old games instead of writing, so you'll get the rest of the writeup tomorrow. But I do have some clarifications (again): 1. Past iterations have consistently revealed who was attacked in the writeup, and we have no idea where the section in this one that we wouldn't reveal them came from. As such, Bard was attacked, but survived. 2. I just want to emphasize Wilson's statement above: unless you have consulted with us, do not put anything in cells which are blacked out. Please. 3. Note that Zillah shouldn't have been brought On the Horns last turn, and that has been retroactively corrected. 4. On flavor contracts: Our decision here is that flavor contracts are purely flavor. You may put in flavor actions to complete them, which do not use an action period. You will not get a tuition reduction for finishing them. You will probably get included in the writeup, though. 5. We'll probably be adding in a tuition calculator to all your sheets tomorrow, for those of you who don't already have one. And more generally, note that the Money tab is for your use: you can do literally anything to it and it won't change your actions, so put whatever you want in there.

The writeup has been edited in! (Or at least part of it; I wanted to write more but this took me like two and a half hours to get done and I need to sleep. If y'all want something else to RP, though, someone set a fire in the Stacks. Signs point to Bryn. ) Don't forget to put your lodging orders in so you don't end up on the Streets. No comment, I could but I won't, no. RP actions do not affect the game mechanically in any way. If Fae Lore activated for them, for instance, Skindancers would be incentivized to stop putting any in out of fear of being caught for doing nothing except a bit of fun. Total number of posts. High Quality Participation is not required (though it is, of course, encouraged ). Also! Clarification: Please make new PMs every month. I previously said you'll only have to do so every cycle, but we've decided that's way too much of a headache. Label your PMs with the current term/month and the names of the players in it (unless it's a group PM). Thanks!
