Mine is vaguely decent, and what's not is full of things saying [Note: fix this by doing xyz]. So I'm pretty well off, considering. And I'm only a bit biehind, considering I wrote 8000 words in the first two days and almost nothing since then. I've been busy with a play, though, so that should change soon.

Long Game 15: ...The Shards Themselves...
Elbereth replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I forgot to say this earlier, probably because I could read but not post when you refuted his plan initially. I originally thought it would be a great idea, because it was something that the HI couldn't really use once he turned, and before that he could put together several people's suspcions. I no longer think that, mostly because you said "PUT YOUR SUSPICIONS IN THREAD" and I realized that that was the obvious thing to do. Also, I realized that the HI could actually use thos suspicions, namely to kill anyone who had gotten too close (but hadn't put their suspicions in thread, so no one knew that they had been so close). I should have thought this through a little more carefully. Sorry. On another note, is DeathClutch around to post how many Hemalurgists he contacted? One already died, obviously, which is worrying. A bunch of Mistborn? How many Mistborn can there really be? I assumed one (probably from previous RL games where there only was one), but I suppose two is possible. Obviously neither (if there are two) are on the side of the eliminators, otherwise two people would have died last night. Right? But even if there were two good Mistborn, wouldn't at least one of them have killed someone last night? Adavantos even asked them to kill him or Bridge Boy. Basically, I'm confused.- 1686 replies

I think that's what I have for Mythic Feruchemy, although as I said light is excluded, so if you want to shift it around please do. For Mythic Allomancy, it's hard to say because we only have seven powers so far (although on the fence about a few more). I do agree that the Enrichment quartet is perfect, though. For Metal Sight, I think it might do well enough on its own, but instead of lines pointing to the person's chest, the objects just glow blue. That way you can see the shape of the object in addition to its location. X-ray vision, in a sense. I also have no idea about Physical Allomancy. Swing V/H would fit in there, if they're parallels to Pushing/Pulling, so that's fine. But we still need two more. Swinging could also fit in Space, though. I don't know. It'll also be hard to do space. But time isn't much easier, so there's not much to help there.

Well, I see atium as fundamentally different from Nightblood, for instance. Nightblood is an object that people put a whole lot of Investiture into. Atium is the body of a Shard, expressed through metal. I would guess that it's not the same deal. Maybe the Investiture isn't as accesible or something? I don't know. They just seem very different to me.

Oh, Mashadar, I wanted to tell you but they closed the old thread. You also didn't need the ego (because it was implied by the nescio). So "nescio quid accidere" would be fine, and much less wordy.

*amice. Vocative./end latin technicalities Happy Birthday! I just had the most fun history essay test I've ever had. You had to write an essay that was a letter from the perspective of James Madison to Jefferson back in Monticello, when you had just found out through spies what Alexander Hamilton was planning on announcing to the Senate (his financial policies). But you have to be quick, because the postman arrives in twenty minutes. It was awesome! I used lots of florid language and nice handwriting, and got really angry at Hamilton. It was great.

I don't understand the Allomancy one. Are you changing your size? Increasing or decreasing the distance just sounds like pushing or pulling. I like the Feruchemy, though. It's potentially really interesting.

Maybe they would write KelsEEr, and just naturally pronounce those two e's separately.
-
Oh, that's a fair point. I hadn't thought of that.

Long Game 15: ...The Shards Themselves...
Elbereth replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Why are no-roles messaging DeathClutch? Haven't we talked about this? We are not interested in making the HI a hub of information, because he has a good chance of becoming evil. If at that point he has a list of people with no roles, the eliminators know who they don't need to kill. It may keep you alive in the short term, but it could very well result in a game loss because the eliminators woudl only be killing people with roles, every single night. Just... yeah. I was not very pleased to read this. Also, I don't think it's a good idea for any Forger to turn themselves into a kandra. If the eliminators have a Forger and we only have one, then they have dibs on all powers in the next two cycles. This does not seem like a good idea. I know that turning yourself into a Forger would guarantee the kandra's loyalty, but still. /end paranoia Edited for relevancy.- 1686 replies

Ah. That makes much more sense. The fixed point would have to be a metal too, though. And it might be a bit of a stretch. That's my thinking. I don't want there not to be a medium because that would be overpowered, but with one it's kind of different from the others. But I do like it because it has such interesting possibilities.

Wow. That's... new.Although, to me Jar Jar was actually redeemed by this comic, which has Star Wars basically as a DnD game, in an AU where there is no Star Wars. It's hilarious.

I'm still not sure what you're visualizing as the alternative to swing. How I'm visualizing the forces right now is a kind of tension force, like you're attaching a rope to the object and swinging it around. This isn't a perfect analogy, but it's how I visualize it. It also breaks down a little when you're moving yourself rather than the metal. I don't know how that is going to work. Also, I think I understand what you're saying. Correct me if I'm wrong: A quadrant of metals which switches any other metal you're burning to a different metal. I'm not entirely sure how well it'd work, but it's interesting. I totally forgot about ithildin! I don't know how much use it would be as a metal, though. Also, I've been looking at the feruchemy, because we have 18 powers now and 16 slots. I took out elements automatically, for obvious reasons. Then I tried separating them into four groups, and here's what I got. I've been thinking of thema s two mental quadrants, one physical, and one dealing with other people. Mental: Stability, Intellect, Sanity, Interest Mental: Creativity, Instinct, Language, Skill Physical: Density, Flexibility, Balance, Size Other people: Presence, Allure, Empathy, Voice These all make sense together. The other one left out is light, which I'm really sad about. I like light, I just don't know where to put it! It doesn't go with much. It would go best in Physical, but it wouldn't fit nearly as well as what's already there. Thoughts?

I really like the addition you made of being able to charge metalminds and spikes. Very cool.EDIT: What about the telepathy? I think it wouldn't be too overpowered if it had to be through touching metal. Also, this means that Mistings would carry around giant spools of wire to communicate with whoever they're working with. You could essentially have a radio system, almost. It'd be cool if you could somehos connect two pieces of metal like in Stormlight Archives with the two pens writing the same thing, so that you could talk to people as far away as you wanted.

Yes. My sister recently saw a "if you don't like this post you will get bad luck for however many years and stuff" post. She actually hadn't seen any before, so she spent about five minutes laughing and saying "that's so superstitious" while I just nodded like "how have you not seen this before". She is woefully naive about the internet sometimes.

Guess what I just found when looking through old notes: Apparently I took notes at the beginning of Way of Kings, before I really got into the story. This was at the bottom of those notes: (WOR spoilers)

Okay. I wasn't sure. I will keep that in mind.

I agree. I put it in because it was not exactly the same, but it is very similar. It is an AU, so we can make it as similar as possible, but the more different powers we have, the more interesting implications and stuff we can come up with. Well, speed is a little different. Pewter came with speed, yes, but strength was its main thing. Also, I partly put it in because it complemented mental speed so well. I like the idea of Mental Speed being more like Mental Abilities, though. (That's actually apparently kind of how Brandon visualizes mental speed: as instinct/intelligence, kind of.) Well, the idea I'm cannibalizing this from changed metal to stone, which worked a little better. Also, refining also works for communicating through metal, but I agree it's not particularly useful on its own. Then again, neither is being an Aluminum Gnat. Okay. I wasn't sure about those either. (As I said earlier, it worked earlier for stone, where you could walk through castle walls and such.) Thanks! It's one of my favorite. My system was based off of threes, so it was Push, Pull and Swing. I split it up into vertical and horizontal wo you could have a matching pair.Clarification: Are we visualizing this as a completely different set of powers in the same universe, or a completely different one? I like this a lot better. It's a little weird to visualize and I'm not sure how well it would really work, but it makes more sense this way. I really like this, but I have no idea how it would work. Maybe kind of like the Allomantic mental speed? I like this one. Weird, but it actually works pretty well. I've never seen Avatar, sadly. Interesting, though I think it might be overpowered. Also, it's the only power that doesn't have to do with metal, yourself, or other people. I don't know though. This does sound kind of like Determination, but it's different enough that I totally accept it. I like it. I think this would be hilarious. I don't know how useful it would be, though.Overall, good additions to the list.
