  1. Beyond that, no, Brandon hasn't elaborated yet. Hoping we learn more in The Lost Metal, but we might need to wait until Era 3, or Secret History 2.
  2. Not yet, Hopefully it'll be covered in Nightblood, the novel that Brandon wants to write, someday.
  3. Note that I'm not against his being an agent of Sazed (or someone). Just that he's not a kandra. Also, that's a good point about Mrall. I don't insist on him being the kandra, just that he's always struck me as unusual. He's an accomplished bodyguard, he's close to the heart of the Diagram, but doesn't actively pursue it, he has no hair! and can turn his emotions on and off. I mean, he would have joined after T's singular day of brilliance, and might have realized that such a day repeating is nearly impossible, and thought that the risk was worth it. Or he's not the kandra
  4. A Connection medallion would do it. Alternately, Sazed could have done something. Yes, Felt is a scout, and definitely a worldhopper, and clearly adventurous. He's not around when Dalinar is making major decisions, when the Coalition meets, or anything like that, though. He gets some firsthand knowledge of exploratory discoveries, but has to reply on rumors and reports for all the political stuff. Not very effective. The kandra or Sazed wouldn't have had to torture or interrogate anyone. Depending on how far afield Sazed has managed, he could have gotten info about Roshar from Silverlight, or the Ghostbloods. The kandra would then be able to observe the chosen organization/role until they were confident enough to impersonate a native, dig up some bones, and go at it. Uh what? I have no idea what you mean by this? The Terriswoman on Nalthis is not a kandra. She's Asyldin, Demoux's wife that he met at the end of HoA, and is a member of the 17th Shard. So to summarize: 1. Brandon has said Felt is the third son of a minor noble house. Not was, but is. If he had been killed and a kandra replaced him in TFE, Brandon wouldn't have given his lineage the way he did. 2. Felt's features do not match Rosharan standards. There's no reason for this if he's a kandra. Even if he had to keep his own face and existing bones for some odd reason, he could easily simply alter the eye shape a little bit, and then he'd be a short Rosharan. 3. A spy should not stand out, and Felt stands out, at least a little. 4. Felt is a scout, and thus is not around when most major decisions are made.
  5. Romance, sure. Children, no. Connection would allow them to know the language, too.
  6. I doubt she cares, and I doubt Vasher is there to spy for her. We get some remarks from him about how he detests his homeland, and a WoB that Vasher is on Roshar because he can feed off Stormlight.
  7. ...No....Just..... no. Anyway, Felt was around during TFE, and there's no way there was interbreeding during that time It wouldn't take the kandra long to learn it. Reading up on TenSoon and OreSeur, they interrogate and study their would-be disguise very thoroughly. I think that Felt probably is special in that he is either Hemalurgically spiked or has a medallion that he is using to tap/store Connection. That would make others feel like he fits in with them, even when he doesn't quite. It would keep him from "standing out," exactly as Brandon says.
  8. I don't think so. There're some time dialation shenanigans that worldhoppers utilize to move forward quickly, but I don't recall anyone being thrown forward inadvertently. Time dialation isn't an inherent feature of the Cognitive Realm. He is in the right place to be a spy, and he has some unusual abilities (turning off his emotions). He isn't a pivotal figure, but is near ones who are, and is in the perfect place to watch the Diagram play out. He could be yes, but it doesn't make sense for him to be. I've said this a number of times: The fact that he stands out at all is a detriment in being a spy. There's no reason for the kandra to not look Rosharan-native. Why would the kandra want to take on the persona of someone from Scadrial, on Roshar? It doesn't make any sense. Why would the kandra take on a specific person, that we know is from Scadrial, that had a history that would be useless on Roshar? There's just no point to it, when being a Rosharan native would be much more effective and less noticeable. I mean, it's like... "I can look like anyone or anything! I'm on this planet doing important stuff. The people on this planet look this way! I'm going to....not look like them. For reasons!" It doesn't make any sense. Also, Felt is a scout, which means he's out...scouting all the time, instead of being where he can observe the important players. It makes more sense for Felt to be Felt, and for the kandra to be someone nearly undetectable. Like I said, remember the Terriswoman. If we weren't as obsessive as we are, would we ever have twigged to her? She had no distinguishing characteristics, was barely on screen, and blended in perfectly.
  9. From lots of WoBs. He's said that the current plan is for Era 2 to take place during or after the gap between SA 5 and 6. Yes, Felt is definitely from Scardrial. We know that, it's been established. Which is evidence, to me, that he would NOT be the kandra. Because he stands out, and the kandra wouldn't. The best spy is the one that is unnoticeable, unobtrusive, unimportant, unremarkable, but always on hand when important events happen. Look at the Terriswoman. Other than us being completely crazy, would anyone ever have spotted her?
  10. Era 2 takes place after SA5, yeah. Weren't Wax and Lessie together for years? It would depend on exactly when Era 2 ends up taking place, but that timeline is pretty sticky. And since SA takes place 300 years after Era 1, who would still be alive to recognize him? And if they were still alive, wouldn't they be suspicious that *he* was alive? Sorry, there's just too many stretches here for it to be credible to me. There's really no reason to think Felt is the kandra, other than that he's also from Scadrial. Which, to me, is a good reason for the kandra to NOT be him. And again, it makes no sense for the kandra to stand out in any way. Being noticeable in even that minor way would be silly. The kandra can literally be anybody, and decides to take on the persona of an off-worlder? Again, it makes more sense for the kandra to look Rosharan, and be someone who is always near important events, but isn't part of them.
  11. Wasn't Paalm Lessie at the time? And why would she keep that identity on Roshar, when becoming a Rosharan would be much more effective as a spy? Plus, I think you meant pet kandra My personal theory is that Mrall is the kandra.
  12. As Extesian said, Felt is the third son of a minor nobleman. I can't think why a kandra would want to imitate him, specifically, on Roshar, instead of taking the place of a Rosharan. I mean, the kandra could take on any form they want, why would they go, "I think I'll take on the appearance of this non-native that happens to be from the same planet as me, and make references as if I weren't from around here, who gets sent out to the middle of no where to scout all the time!" instead of "I'll take on the appearance of a native and blend in perfectly, and be in an unimportant position that lets me be near the center of events but not part of them."
  13. Yeah, with the Royal Locks, you have to cut them off first. With normal hair, you could probably use it to Awaken without cutting it, since really, it's already "dead."
  14. The point that I'm trying to make is that the reasoning is still fake. Sure, Radiants had light eyes, and that was the basis for the lighteyed thing. But that was Radiants, and they were powerful, sure. But their descendants having light eyes as well doesn't mean much, and isn't really what I would call "real reasoning." It's like saying, men are bigger and stronger, so the sexism that women have experienced in history had a basis in real reasoning. Just because A tended to be true (men physically bigger and stronger, Radiants having magic) doesn't mean that B had realistic reasoning behind it.
  15. Click the Edit link at the bottom of your original post, and change the title from there. Telrii died during the events of Elantris, and as stated, it was probably something like a thousand years ago, and Telrii had no indications of being Elantrian.

    Breaths

Actually, it just involves a couple of hoops. You Awaken something with an invalid Command, so that part of your Breath goes into the object but doesn't do anything (or I guess you could actually Awaken it if you want). That stores some of your Breath. Repeat till you only have the number of Breaths you want to give away. Give them away. Then take back the Breaths you put in the object(s).
  17. If you think about it, though, there's some specious historical justification for most forms of bigotry. Like men generally being larger and stronger justified them being more capable of....various things.
  18. Yeah. Actually, it's Brandon taking a normally not-particularly relevant, arbitrary, genetic physiological trait, like eye color , and running with it. Including the (normally specious) "justifications" of those that have the favorable trait that use it to claim some sort of superiority. While in reality, the light eyes just mean the person had Radiants or Shardbearers in their ancestry, and doesn't really say anything about that particular person at all.
  19. Brandon likes to take real world situations, turn them inside out, and put them in his books. He likes to be able to deal with them outside the charged context of the real world. I don't know that I would consider the lighteye/darkeye thing something justified myself. Rather a twisted representation of a historical trait. The lighteyes of course are referencing how people with Shardblades (Radiant or not) got light eyes. And that historical fact is true. But whether this actually justifies the caste system they have is something else again. @Llarimar question: Wouldn't you study the linguistics of a particular language or family of languages? Or do you study all of them? Just wondering, because I would probably ask that same question lol.
  20. I assume they could if they knew it was there, but given that they'll have to fight through the investiture of the living person in the first place, at that point, I think it'd be just as easy to simply soulcast the entire person.
  21. Yeah, most likely Cultivation.
  22. I really love this explanation! @Calderis This is what I was trying to communicate the other day.
  23. It's possible, but I don't think Brandon is going to go there. I think Brandon's going for Adonalsium is in everything, even galaxies that aren't in the cosmere.
  24. I was just to lazy to copy/paste it Thanks!
