  1. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/34-arcanum-unbounded-seattle-signing/#e5720 So it's pretty up in the air, depends on who's fighting who. Atium gives at least several seconds. It also gives you faster reflexes so that you can act on that knowledge. I don't know if we've seen someone with atium dodge bullets, but coinshots can get their metal projectiles moving fairly fast. I can't think that even a Shardblade would move much faster than that.
  2. A transcription of the reading of Silence Divine. Silence Divine takes place on the planet Ashyn, which is in the Greater Rosharan system. Please note that this story is Unpublished, and therefor non-canon at this time. An OB spoiler: Some discussion of it in this thread here:
  3. His visions weren't like that, though. They were of specific events, not what a person near him is intending to do. So it wouldn't help much for him to be having a vision of Jasnah while Malata tries to kill him or something.
  4. I have a theory that the Iriali and the Alethi both have Nalthis Returned blood. There's also this thread that has great research, quotes and WoB behind it.
  5. I think that would be very difficult. The person sees themselves as one being. They'd have to see themselves as two separate, identical beings at the moment that they're split, strongly enough to change their spiritweb. Seems unlikely.
  6. It happens Have a little pie.
  7. One of the other Arcanists found it for me. I think it was Jof.
  8. Well, nothing you said exactly contradicts what I said. It clarifies it. And I do agree--he doesn't see the old man as himself at all, so it's unaltered. But when it's himself, just without scars, he unconsciously changes it.
  9. Their image of themselves doesn't have to be that specific. They see themselves as tattoo'd so the tattoo and the injury would stay. It seems to only take a short while for an injury to become a part of someone. Near the end of OB, there are a number of people Renarin can't heal, because their soul has already accepted that they are injured.
  10. This is mostly correct, but the highstorms aren't a straight wind, so to speak. They twist and spin and deposit things in a pattern rather than a straight line. The entire continent of Roshar was formed deliberately by Adonalsium, probably by using the highstorms. If you look at a Julia set (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/transcoded/0/04/Julia_set_3d_slice_animation.ogv/Julia_set_3d_slice_animation.ogv.480p.webm ) you can see how the continent was formed. And some WoB on it. https://wob.coppermind.net/basic_search/?query=julia
  11. I am a stick.
  12. Nah, it'd be whichever part managed to hang on to his spiritweb.
  13. There's a lot of great speculation in this thread too
  14. A Mistborn burning atium is basically impossible to defeat.
  15. Probably want to make the title more generic per the spoiler policy at the top. There're a lot of spoilers in that title. Also, the KR get their ability to draw investiture from the bond, but they don't draw it from their spren. So I'm not sure how Melishi, if she were bonded to the Sibling, would have caused the Sibling damage.
  16. It has to do with how they view themselves. Kaladin views himself as scarred and so nothing that tries to hide them will stick, and they don't heal. The other bridgemen don't feel their brands are part of them any more, so their tattoos stay. They do feel that their brands are SOME part of them, though, otherwise the brands would just fade.
  17. His disguise dropped. I assume it has something to do with him being a surgebinder, and the way he sees himself (as Kaladin-the-branded) over-riding the illusion. Kind of like how the tattoos wouldn't stay.
  18. Question @PeterAhlstrom I just redownloaded the kindle version of WoR, and it still has the original text (where Kaladin stabs Szeth). It's definitely a new download because I had to reset my phone a month or two back. Do you know if there's something going on there?
  19. In the revised version, Kaladin doesn't kill Szeth.
  20. Yes, I know who Chow Yun Fat is. He's a great actor and a really good man, too. The thing about Sadeas is that he's not much of a warrior, even though he has Shardplate.
  21. I found the perfect Sadeas. This is my Dalinar from now on. I don't know who this guy is as an actor, but dem eyes for Kaladin
  22. Also, it requires someone to die...
  23. You're giving me WoT PTSD here. Stop it. *shudders uncontrollably*
  24. What kind of quotes? What subject? Like, BY the KR, or ABOUT the KR? Why they abandoned their Oaths? What they thought during that time? Details, man!
  25. ...I actually did not like Perrin Aybara. His personality grated on me every time he had a PoV, and his choice in women was abysmal. If I had any kind of romantic interest in anyone in WoT it would most likely be Lan. All the other characters make me want to slap them too often to feel any inclinations. If I had to read another reference to him liking to take his time before coming to a decision, or how people thought he was slow, or that Rand/Mat were better with women, I might have crawled into the book just to box his ears. Also, GRAIN BREAK! (Argh)
