This was not my theory, someone mentioned this on some other site and I thought it deserved to be brought up if it had not already. The theory stated that Amaram would take over the role of Highprince in the aftermath of the death of sadeas as he was now essentially an enemy of Dalinar. Does this sound feasible to you guys?

If the everstorm wipes out Shinovar then what will Szeth and Nale do? Poor guys, I hate it when a storm cancels my plans for the week.

I think for the overall Kelsier rebellion vs Lord Ruler in the first book do Re-education by Rise Against The Well of Ascension can have Satellite by Rise Against The Cursed city of elantris can have Dirt and Roses by Rise Against Try "We are one" by 12 Stones for Bridge Four Whenever Szeth is on a killing spree: The Only Thing I Know For Real- Jamie Christopherson Die mother die by dope (just the main chorus required for the scene in which Adolin kills sadeas) Alive and well by rise against, this one part of the song perfectly represents the scene between Kaladin, Elhokar, Graves, and Moash I hate Everything about you: Three days grace- just the theme of shallan flashbacks Hated you From The Hello by Downplay- Evil Prof's thoughts towards David. The One Who Laughs Last by Downplay: Dalinar vs Sadeas after their confrontation at the end of way of kings. Save Me by Downplay: Kaladin in The Way of Kings Normally I can think of a lot, but this time I am struggling.

It is probably too early to do this, but out of these two organizations, which one do you think is overall more intriguing, more competent, has a better goal, and is overall a more preferable option for you to be a part of? Personally I like the Ghostbloods better, maybe I might join them, it depends on their overall intentions. Do Mr T and his followers count as a secret organization pulling the strings on everything? Ghostbloods or Sons of Honour?

Who wrote the back cover synopsys of The Way of Kings book?
Moash replied to rtfirefly's topic in Stormlight Archive
Wow, never heard of The Protector before! If there are three god spren with stormfather representing surgebinding and Nightwatcher representing old magic, would Cusicesh represent Voidbinding? I personally do not think so, but could he be an evil spren or something? -
I think my main problem was just the sheer amount of characters who were almost removed from the story, but then were not. For Jasnah it makes sense to me that she is out of the story before they get to the Shattered Plains, I disliked that Szeth died and got resurrected, and that Dalinar was on the verge of death but got saved at the last second. I personally wonder if it would have been better to kill off Dalinar now, much as I like him. It seems that all of these characters still have lots left to do in the story so if they could not die, I just wish that they didn't all suffer apparent deaths before being revealed to still be alive somehow. I would have preferred if Szeth was perhaps captured after being defeated, maybe Nale then gets him out of captivity almost immediately or something like that, instead of killing him and resurrecting him within the span of a few chapters. Szeth at the end as I recall finally accepted that the Radiants were returned and that his oath was worthless and he accepted death. I just think it would have been best to not have that many characters in one book apparently die. Jasnah was mostly necessary in my opinion, but Dalinar and Szeth could have perhaps been done differently so that it did not feel like the major characters had plot armour. Sadeas did die, but will anyone feel crushed by his death? At least he did not also come back. Maybe some people will take fault with my opinion, but I just wish Brandon had not done so many apparent deaths. Szeth probably could have been done a little differently and Dalinar to without damaging the story, maybe I am wrong and this was the best way to do it, but it still leaves the apparent death concept being very overrused, especially after it really felt like a big character was going to die in the buildup to the climax and during the promotional campaigns for Words of Radiance. I was fine with Kaladin and Shallan personally, some took fault with Kaladin's attitude, but i was fine with it and just felt frustrated at how much it was negatively impacting his life. Shallan was in my opinion much better than in book one, she had good chapters and flashbacks which I really enjoyed. In book 1 it was just that her storyline was not converging with the Shattered Plains and it felt annoying to leave kaladin and dalinar and go back to kharbranth. However her final chapters were quite good in my opinion and left me excited for how she would be handled in the sequel, and she exceeded expectations. It was mostly just the pacing of her story and that while Kharbranth was interesting (I do appreciate her chapters much more on the reread), I did not care a lot for it because it did not yet feel comparable to the shattered plains in terms of importance. Yeah for me I really just disliked the apparent deaths, and felt the ending seemed a little rushed with Sadeas dying, Dalinar becoming bondsmith, Renarin revealing he is a radiant, etc. I think perhaps one or two of the pieces at the ending should have been left for later, personally I wish Renarin got more of a developmental arc as his position in the Knights Radiant got built up in book 3. I think Dalinar becoming a bondsmith was necessary though, and perhaps the death of sadeas wouldn't have worked well at the start of book 3. The ending just had two many reveals and surprising moments, I think one or two should have been saved for later like Renarin being a Truthwatcher. Szeth, Dalinar and maybe Sadeas deserved to stay though due to the right timing of these important developments in the overall story. One last thing that I just wanted to say which is not criticism related, I am interested in the path book 3 will go because I feel it is not as clear this time around. Way of kings concluded storylines and set up many for book 2, whereas words of radiance wrapped up many storylines and while it set up the much broader conflicts, I do not have any clue how the characters will go about their journey in this one. We know the Voidbringers and Knights Radiant are back, but we don't really know what book 3 will be like. Kaladin is heading home, Dalinar is aiming to lead the Knights Radiant, there will be fallout from the death of Sadeas, Shallan is in the ghostbloods now, szeth is going to "bring justice to shinovar", Jasnah is alive, anything else I missed? We know what is happening with characters, but it is not as easy to picture what will happen. How will Dalinar go about leading the KR? What will happen with Shallan next? What is Jasnah going to do now? Where is Adolin's arc headed now that he killed Sadeas? What will Kaladin and Szeth do after they accomplish their goals (I do not see szeth in shinovar for long, I don't see kaladin at home for long). So its pretty interesting because while the Words of Radiance was mostly revealed in the ending of Way of kings, it does not seem as easy to guess where Oathbringer is going to go in terms of the storyline because all we know for certain is that the overall plot is now KR vs Voidbringers with all the subplots revolving around that at the moment. So I for one understand the plot of book 3, but am entirely unsure about how this book will turn out because it seems that we only know the overall plot, but there are a lot of smaller details and factors we need to know in order to determine the direction of this storyline. So with all that being said, what are your thoughts on the only things I felt could have been improved for words of radiance? What are your thoughts on the storyline of the upcoming third stormlight novel?

Personally I kind of wish he had not been cut on the arm by Szeth in the first place as I would not have liked him losing his spear arm or losing it and then immediately getting it back. Amaram to me was different than I thought, I expected him to have a larger role on his own, but he seems more as a kind of fake personality. I kind of understood his point of view back in book 1, but he felt almost slimy, he really came across as a complete sham in words of radiance, like nothing about him was honest or real. I dislike him, I wish we saw more of him though as he does almost seem pathetic at times in the book. I don't necessarily find this a bad thing, I was just surprised he was not as complex as I expected and I only wish he had more appearances and felt more like a major character rather than a background presence.

Stormlight Archive Book 3(+) Readings

I though the Jasnah chapter was a deleted words of radiance chapter? Is this actually a possible book 3 chapter? -
Who wrote the back cover synopsys of The Way of Kings book?
Moash replied to rtfirefly's topic in Stormlight Archive
Can someone explain the concept of these god spren to me? I have heard of stormfather and nightwatcher of course, but I have not heard of this third god spren. It just goes along with what I like about Roshar how it feels like there is so much hidden information that we all sort of start thinking about and uncovering. It really feels like there is an endless limit of information and factors in the story that is ranging with so much we do not know. I really do like that. With that being said, is anyone able to explain the godspren? I would really appreciate it. -
I got busy a while ago and kind of stopped reading, but lately with the announcements about the third stormlight, I have been getting very excited again and so I have been going back through both books 1 and 2 of the stormlight archive. I really love them and think they are great, but I would now and then wish some things were different as I felt the story could have been better had some different decisions been made for certain circumstances. I was wondering what you wished was different in the book series, what criticisms do you have for it? Yes it is okay for people who like something to discuss what they did not like as much and what might have been a better outcome instead.

I have a feeling his death will be a big thing to end Part 1 of the ten book series. I just do not see him going to the end, and for some reason can just imagine him going down near the end of Act I in order to shake up the story and the arcs of all the characters close to him.
-
I think that is actually a solid point. At first I was sort of disappointed it would be Dalinar, since for a long time Szeth was listed as the book 3 protagonist and I wanted to see more of him and see some development with him. However you are probably correct that it is better to see flashbacks of a more developed szeth rather than seeing them as he begins to develop. The more Brandon hypes up these Dalinar flashbacks, the more excited I grow.

In this case Deadpool would rek Steelheart and probably utterly enrage him while refusing to die in a fight, none of this is canon however but he is an utter psychopath who can't even die so him and steelheart would be funny.

What is your favourite individual story by Brandon?
Moash replied to Moash's topic in General Brandon Discussion
yeah it is nice to see someone else who found well of ascension awesome. It was just so intense and dramatic, many awesome characters introduced. Character development such as that of Elend which I liked (I forgive you... but my kingdom cannot!), straff was such a despicable and nasty person, his ending was very satisfying. Zane was a cool character and I liked Cett for being pretty entertaining with his attitude. The battle of luthadel was amazing and utterly insane, I recall reading it after finishing a french test back in grade 8 years ago and my hands were shaking as I was reading about the battle with the koloss. Book 2 was really amazing I thought, so intense and dramatic. -
Nope it is not bad By the way I know Brandon is not sure that Rithmatist will be a trilogy but it seems too awkward to fit it into two books, I feel that it fits the size of a trilogy fine. Unless Joel just defeats Nalizar in the next book but I would like to see more competitive rithmatics and a focus on the unknown in book 2 with book 3 being about defeating the wild chalklings and Nalizar.

Hey when did he do a reading of a cosmere story on Ashyn? I find that one the most exciting of the novellas in the cosmere as I like the idea he stated about Ashyn and it is in the galaxy of Roshar so I wonder if there will be any tiny tiny connections. what is the title of the video on youtube where brandon does the reading? I want to search it.

Spoilers below for words of radiance and extremely slight ones for wheel of time and mistborn I just wanted to see what everyone's favourite book by Sanderson is. I do not mean which series but which individual story he has written. It could be any novella, short story, etc (even the I am a stick one) or book in one of his series cosmere or non cosmere, wheel of time is included two but only the final three of course. What is your favourite individual story? For me it is tough as I really loved all three wheel of time books and I really enjoyed the way of kings but loved words of radiance ten times more. I also loved the first 2 mistborn books a lot, especially the second one for its intensity (most people seemed to find it not as good), the third was amazing but so dark at times it was tough. I think when it comes down to it I will choose Words of Radiance as I still cannot determine my favourite wheel of time by brandon (TGH was great I thought and advanced the story, TOM was awesome and did a lot of good stuff for storylines like Perrin and AMOL was the emotional and epic conclusion). I think I will choose words of radiance because despite it taking time for me to get into the series, the way of kings was bumpy for me and I had to slowly plug away at it over a month because I was busy and felt it was a little slow paced. Parts 4-5 were so awesome though that with all the plot points for book 2 I was really excited. I then spent lots of time on 17th reading stormlight theories+predictions and getting more excited. Then tor started building the hype train with all of the advertising for WOR with the glimpses of radiance, practically all of part 1 revealed in sample chapters which I read multiple times (gave me a problem later on as i still intended to work through part 1 when I got the book but it was like a third reread and there was all the unknown amazing chapters past part 1 but I had to work to get to them). There was also the way of kings rereads by tor and the analysis posts about the flora and fauna of roshar, etc. The cover of Kaladin vs Szeth also gave me major goosebumps because when Mr T sent szeth off to kill Dalinar I immediately thought about kaladin vs szeth. With all the awesome hype released I binge read the book in about 20 hours and it fulfilled and went beyond my high expectations while feeling like a truly epic experience that had almost zero disappointments. So overall book 2 of the stormlight archive is my favourite brandon book and I think it won't be surpassed for a couple years because I think stones unhallowed will be a little less insane in the sense that he won't focus on making an insanely massive and awesome book as he did for words of radiance because of the long delay between words of radiance and the way of kings. I think he will focus on fewer things in this book while still having tons of epicness. Then again that could make it better than book 2 perhaps. I am sure though that he will release an even greater stormlight book with an even more climactic feeling to it. anyway that is my opinion on words of radiance being my favourite book by brandon. What do you fellow 17th shard users consider your favourite brandon book?

Well on Friday Brandon said in the update on his website that a new State of The Sanderson update was on the way possibly next week. I just wanted to hear your thoughts and predictions to the likely modified list of great books to be written. I recall going insane upon seeing the first one in 2013 and doing lots of discussion and thinking lots about the order of the books while getting hype. We can also discuss the list when he finishes putting it together.
