  1. I would like to announce that I just saw a trailer for Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright!
  2. The link in the first post takes you to an article on Tor.com, where you will find many questions in the comments. Post your list in the comments on that page.
  3. I considered that as well. The description is way too close to the creatures Kalak names Thunderclasts to be a coincidence, though. Also there's the fact that the Radiant says she doesn't know who released it, not them. Since they've already fought more than one, it seems more likely that the Essence is something separate from the creatures themselves. I figured that meant that they were all pieces of a larger whole. A Whole that manifests as several black six-legged beasties.
  4. You figured out that the earring was a hemalurgic spike before you knew what Hemalurgy was? That's pretty impressive... And Shiver... You saw... How?
  5. Well, I've read like the first three chapters of Scribbler, and that is an accurate summary. So, yeah Scribbler=Rithmatist. Also: Press Release? Where, when?
  6. No, Alcatraz got them back and gave them to Attica!
  7. On page four of Alcatraz VS The Shattered Lens, Bastille complains that Shasta got away with a set of translator's lenses. This is incorrect. Shasta got away with the book, but Alcatraz got the lenses back. At first I assumed this was Alcatraz being stoopid while writing the book, but it's never mentioned. In later scenes Alcatraz correctly worries about that book his mother stole. But then, in a later chapter (I think it was somewhere around chapter A+, but I could be incredibly wrong) Bastille does it AGAIN, talking about Shasta's set of Translators lenses. Is Bastille stoopid? Is Alcatraz, the author, stoopid? What goes on here?
  8. I would like to announce that I was just rehired for my old position and now have a stable income once again. Also: Alcatraz 4!!!!!! YAAAAAAAYYYY
  9. Oh, I played 3.5 for 3 years. Got my Gnome wizard up to level twenty four. I like 4th edition though. In 3.5, it wasn't until I was level 9 that I realized I was supposed to have a lot more spells than I did. And level 13 before really figuring out how my character actually worked. "Wait, I should be able to use HOW MANY SPELLS? ... FIREBALL!" I was playing with D&D veterans and I was a N00b, so while they just did their thing, I had to figure everything out while still trying to be helpful. Since I'm not counting on any one I play with knowing the rules, I decided the simpler 4E would be best.
  10. I used my Black Friday to purchase: The Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual (1, 2, and 3), and Player's Handbook (1, 2, and 3.)
  11. Last I heard, one of my friends is stuck on the final boss.
  12. Well, I didn't see it. But just in case some of you aren't following Brandon on Facebook/Twitter (crazy, I know), he reported yesterday that one of his fans on the east coast saw it. So, yeah, east coasters, call your bookstore and see if they have it.
  13. Alcatraz VS the Shattered Lens has been spotted on bookstore shelves!
  14. I beat Portal for the first time yesterday.
  15. I was wondering where you were. Wasn't this whole site your idea in the first place? Back when it was still Hoid's Compendium, I mean.
  16. Ah, all his projects involve people who are called Gods, but all for different reasons. The Elantrians because they are shiny and have powerful magic. The Lord Ruler because he was immortal, ruled with a god-like fist, and said that he was god. "Worship me or die." The Returned because they came back from the dead, can see the future, and can perform healing miracles. The only true Gods we've interacted with are Ruin and Preservation, and that series ended with the creation of a new god in their place. So while godhood, and all the different reasons one might be said to attain it are certainly going to be recurring themes, I think it unlikely that a character will find Honor and become the new Almighty. Or, if someone does, they won't be able to resolve the conflict the way Sazed was. Because Brandon already did that.
  17. Well, The Way of Kings is an actual in universe book, so it's possible. There's a chance you're confusing the two. Then again, if anyone can find a source for that, that sounds like a pretty awesome possibility.
  18. Well, it was originally going to just be a short story that he wrote for fun and then posted on his website if he liked it enough. When it turned out to be novel length is when Tor stepped in to publish it. So... Call it a side story? It's gonna be short for a Sanderson book, and will not technically be "Mistborn 4." Just a neat story to read while we wait for the next trilogy.
  19. I'm pretty sure Brandon said SOMEWHERE, that all throughout the Final Empire, on the North Pole, there were people living on the South Pole as well. The real reason we won't see the original characters, is that it takes place some 200 years after HoA. Which means...Marsh and Ten Soon! ...Then again, I think he'll wait for the next trilogy to bring those two back.
  20. *Ahem* WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :) ;D ;D
  21. You mean the one in the prologue? It doesn't seem likely. Especially since in the epilogue, he doesn't seem to know what's going on. If he'd been hanging around for several months, he would know that everybody thinks the Desolations are over. He also seems confused that they don't know who he is. So, no, I don't think he's the drunk guy that Szeth meets. Where ever he's been for the past 4500 years, it seems apparent that he got out just in time for the epilogue. Also, I concur with the Shalash theory, to get this back on topic.
