...Ya know what? I'm just gonna drop this song here. (And okay, it's MLP-related BUT. There's zero actual refrences to ponies in it. I've said elsewhere, but it sounds like a "real" song inspired by the show, rather than a song written specifically FOR the show...)

You say 'Captain Marvel'. Are you talking the original Kree flavor, the photon-based Avenger during the 70's/80's, the Marvel Boy Morrison wrote who took the title during Dark Reign, or Shazam?

Money is a concern. A whole bunch of DC's books are moving to twice monthly schedules, including ones I'm planning on picking up. Odd's are pretty good my pull list will get culled very quickly. As for Watchmen... I kind of like it as a meta conceit...but the issue with that is, if we start looking at it in meta terms, we have to keep looking at it as such. Which means taking Alan Moore's contentious relationship with DC, the publishing rights and the fact that the guys who are ushering the Rebirth era are the same guys who made things dark to emulate him, and... Yes. There are...issues. But I'm cautiously optimistic?

Well, we have a Marvel thread, might as well open the DC equivalent. For those who don't know, Rebirth is the name of DC's latest publishing initiative, aiming at reintroducing old concepts and history back into the DCU. In practical terms? DC is releasing one-shots for each character establishing new creative teams and status quos for each comic. Basically, if you want to get into comics but aren't sure where to start, this should be the place. For those who are following this...anyone picked any books up? Superman Green Arrow

Considering Dan Slott sent the entire Superior Spider-Man run insisting that Peter Parker is really dead, for super real guys, yes.Comic book writers areliars. I believe nothing until it's printed on page, and even then, I am suspicious. Heck, Dick Grayson got ousted at Nightwing in a 'permanent decision!'...which is getting reversed next month. *shrug*

Well. Apparently: 1) In Cap's last appearance, he had a run in with the (telepathic) Red Skull, who used his mind control powers to disguise himself and gloated about wanting to keep Cap alive for,"my greatest victory!" 2) The reason for HydraCap is revealed in issue 2. So, yes, I'm saying it's a feint or mind control. 3)Stan Lee and Jack Kirkby wrote a story way back in the early days of the character where the Red Skull brainwashed Cap and Cap saluted Hitler. On panel. The story ended with the power of democracy getting through to Steve so, you know. Precedence.
