  1. I feel a little vindicated by the presence of uber- smoking, though I realise that, and the fact there was a conversion, makes my declaration of being a regular villager more suspicious. So, before someone suggests it, let me refute that; it doesn't. Converting someone the night a villager comes out is kind of an obvious misdirection. I'm the obvious target for that, so I wouldn't be targeted; that way you could vote me off the island, and be down two men instead of one. And if I was the Inquisitor, giving up the ability to smoke after revealing myself is risky. If anyone wants to seek me now, feel free to; I'm not sure how many (if any) seekers remain though. The fact the inquisitor dropped his camof, auger ability makes me suspect not many.
  2. We hav slightly less time than usual, so first things first; whoever is online at the time should probably double check with Meta, if he forgot to say the power it cost. Given his 'mistakes' with tallying votes this game and last game though, I doubt it. I don't think he spiked anyone, but I think he's preparing too.
  3. The only explanation I can think of is that the Inquisitor might have a power to charge his own spikes, but I don't see how likely that would be.
  4. Ah, sweet irony, that one of those who has sworn to protect the Lady Feather would be responsible for killing the topic dedicated to her benediction.
  5. This, this, a thousand times this. I'm in the same boat as you. I just recently began the Wheel of a Time series, after trying to read it a few years ago- and dropping it because I couldn't get through Eye of the World. Common consensus seems to be that the series gets better, which is how I pushed through it, and in fairness, I did prefer The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn
  6. Seeing as how this is the internet, and is thus powered by a perpetual engine running off of references and memes, I figured I'd go the extra step and list all of the ones I could find in this thread to date. If I missed any, message me and I'll correct it.
  7. I thought that might be why he was doing it as well, and like you say, I was sort of looking forward to seeing the Night time phase, if only to see how my massive gamble paid off. Then I noticed a certain someone's name under the birthday section on the main page, so I can't blame Peng for wanting time extension to sort things out. I would too. But, since we have this time extended, we should make use of it. Should we assume the people who have posted here since Day 4 began, whether it's casting votes or declaring roles, are the 'core' group of players, with the rest Inactives? Or have I just missed seeing when a certain player was last online?
  8. If this is somewhere then please, let me know. So, I like to type out my posts in full, inserting the italics, bold or spoiler tags as I can to save time. The only one I've been having trouble with has been the color coding. I've found out blue, red and purple through accident, by quoting other posts which contained those particular codes, but it would be helpful if there was a list on here somewhere saying what, exactly, the coding for each color was; that way, I'd at least have a quick cheat sheet to fall back on.
  9. Following Pengs lead isn't a bad move; as the Mistborn, he's the only one who can't be converted, unless he's actually the inquisitor and we have no Mistborn. But that's why I outed myself, to try and prompt a bit more action here.Which isn't why I'm posting now, really. I'm posting because quoting Gamma gave me the color codes, so, to make it official,Quillion revealed himself to Peng, as per Lord Olliviers orders.
  10. Yes, but... I sort of trust one of our esteemed list makers to collate the data, and it gives us something to do to fill out time until Peng shows up. And if someone doesn't respond to this (or responds very late) we can start debating why- time differences? Reluctance to give out information? The inquisitor, not bothering to check the thread now that we're in a phase we've been rather quiet in? (Besides it bumps up my word count). But just because we're doing that doesn't mean discussion should halt while we wait. Yes, we still have time, time to maybe allow some slippages, especially with 36 hours to vote in tomorrow... but we need to start getting a ground work, most discussions don't start from scratch.
  11. I've told him before; this has been up for 5 hours anyway, so I'll leave it. Even if it's just to build up my reputation and character for whatever future games I play. This is still recent enough in forum history that I don't think many of us know each other and each other's strategies yet. I'm hoping declaring my intention might pay off somehow- either I'll be targeted, or I'll be deliberately avoided. Both of those would tell you something about the Inquisitor's plans. Now he knows who he can convert, who he can kill with impunity. Same hoes for you guys. Seeing responses to that might be... enlightening. EDIT And by him, I mean Peng, since... my whole reveal hinges on his backing me up. I just don't know the code for purple.
  12. I will protect your right to your opinion. Ah, Voltaire. So overused.
  13. I am Quivers poor attempt at a witty response. Welcome to the forum. It 's always great to see more writers about the place; I haven't checked the reading excuses forum (I'm terribly shy), but if you want something good, I'd seriously recommend checking out the Feather Writer thread in the creative corner. It has links tom if not all, then most of her stories, and she's a fantastic writer. Welcome again, I hope you enjoy your stay.
  14. I don't have much to add to the Shardblade/Honourblade discussion, but I do want to say this; I don't believe there is a compulsion for Szeth to follow the orders of the stone beyond any cultural imposed ones. We haven't seen enough of the Shin to know about their culture. If I recall correctly though (and I might not be, so please, call me out on it), Szeth is an oddity in Roshar. I don't recall hearing about another Shin anywhere else, beyond as a deliverer of death words in an epigraph. Their bartering tool, of respecting honour and devaluing products, is so alien that it completely baffled the merchants who visited them, and that's to say nothing of their landscape. Everything we've seen of them so far leads me to believe they are fairly isolated from the greater problems of Roshar, so I can see the oathstone working in that culture. If you're raised to believe something, it becomes ingrained fairly strongly in you, particularly when, as Szeth indicates, no following the rules is worse than damnation, it's non-existence. The other kingdoms of Roshar don't seem concerned about the Shin, and they aren't worried about them. That means that getting rid of a Truthless means tying a stone to the tail end of someone's wagon and telling them to go fetch. They aren't going to disobey that, and the chances of you ever seeing them again are slim to none.
  15. I had to do a bit of housework this morning. Had to get rid of a bunch of spirit webs in the ceilings- I hate spiders. The whole ordeals left me rather lifeless.
  16. So that a Scott Pilgrim look? You know, for some reason, I thought it was a tiny picture of Captain Marvel. It didn't make sense, of course, since the hair, the sword and the costume don'tmatch up, but still... whenever I see a tiny version of that, like at the side of topics saying who posted last, I keeping thinking it was something to do with the Carol Corps. Wierd. Mind if I ask where this Scott Pilgrim thingey is? I'm thinking of updating my picture to something else Green Arrow related, and might want to see if there's any kind of matches there.
  17. a spike. Thus, EDIT Fixed, roughly. Sorry about that guys.

    Spook

Okay so... when I see something I like, I feel like I ought to comment on it, but I really, really don't get art. So sorry if this is a bit dumb. I was going to ask where his Blindfold was, but you say this is Mistborn Spook, so presumably after Hero of Ages has finished. I have to say, if you are taking requests, I'd love to see your take on the Survivor of Flames, but I digress. There's something very Peter Pan-ish about the pose, I think, th way he's throwing his hand up behind him. I know he isn't smiling, but it does kind of look like he might be about to start grinning, which is really reminiscent of how he was in TFE. I like how the tassles of his mistcloak are almost flaring around the coins; that, and the pose he's in gives it a strong sense of motion. There's a part of me that thinks there should be some of the tassles whipping around the front of his body as well, but that might just be my own minds eye of how the mist cloak looks; if you had added them in, it might have looked too cluttered, or cartoonish. (Or, I suppose, like Batman's cape.) Anyway... yeah, that's all I have to say. I like it.
  19. damnation it, Delightful, now I'm going to spend ages trying to create a High Imperial lullaby. Wasing the rocking up in the theres, Being the I was the cradle top in. That doesn't sound right, and now I'm going to spend forever trying to fix it. THANKS A LOT, DE.
  20. Shard of Editing-because-of-concerns-over-content-violation-by-joking-about-a-shard-of-Slasfiction. Self-explanatory, really.
  21. The key word in that sentence was yet. Pretty soon though, you'll be getting the shakes, and finding yourself hitting up Tor and Brandon for just a little more. Fortunately, Brandon is the sort of dealer who churns out the stuff pretty quickly, and if you haven't read the other Cosmere books, then you have a pretty good supply waiting for you. I personally am not a fan of Elantris, to the point where I've never finished it, but if you want a quick fix, Brandon offers Warbreaker, another of his cosmere books and my personal favourite, for free on his website. I think we should all be grateful that Brandon broke bad.
  22. The number of Warbreaker fans is multiplying. I feel very, very gratified; for the longest time, it seemed like the default least favourite Cosmere book. Granted, I don't think Warbreaker is his best book, but it's certainly my favourite. Let me know if you're interested in having a conversation about it sometime.
  23. By all means, welcome to the forum. I hope you to see you talking around here a lot; it'd be a shame if the catt got your tongue, eh, wouldn't it? Get it? Cause your name is catt, and your excited to be talking, but when people don't talk, we ask if "Cat got your tongue?" That's the sort of witty repartee that makes me the Queen's Wit, and I didn't want to go the Shattered Plains anyway... Er... right. Uh. So. Welcome. Again. (And if you haven't read it, check out Warbreaker. It needs more fans around here.)
  24. Alright then, so I'm going to start off by airing my suspicions of people. After how heated the last game got, though, I do feel the need to disclaim this by saying it's nothing personal. It's also not exactly comprehensive; I have a fickle aim, and I can be liable to change my views every so often. But I'm hoping that, bringing these people into the firing line, I might at least be able to start a conversation to get our aim in. (I have a Green Arrow themed name and picture. I'm allowed to abuse archery metaphors every now and again) Roban I have to say, I find the zeal you have going against Hero to be a bit... well, overzealous. It's the sort of thing that kind of stands out, particularly since the person you've targeted has consistently not been killed, by us or the Inquisitor. In fact, if I recall correctly, I don't think many other people have voted for Hero this entire game, and I think it's one of the few people you've voted for. That could actually be good cover for an Inquisitor; become 'that guy' who is associated with a particularly voting strategy, and work your way into being overlooked. Hero Not that that gets Hero off the hook (and, by the by, sorry for not using your characters name; I can't remember the correct spelling without double-checking the vowel and consonant placement). I've been saying he's a tad suspicious because he was a part of that group of seven earlier, but then, six other people were as well. It's just a feeling I have at the moment, and given my feeling last game was to vote off Beetle at first, I'm inclined to listen more closely this time. Besides, how great a double-bluff would it be for the Inquisitor to have an avatar telling everyone who he was? If that was the case, I'd be inclined to let you win just based on sheer audacity. Kurk Right now, my biggest suspicion. As Aonar said, being the Inquisitor doesn't mean throwing everyone the wrong way, it just means not being suspected. You pushed for the mistborn-worship (literally now, I see). I can see how that would be a very dangerous position to be in, since if Peng turned against you then you'd have virtually no way to survive the wave unless the Inquisitor has some sort of Gold Feruchemy power, but you've been quiet and haven't really made yourself a target. I don't know who has been discussing what with whom, but if the Inquisitor got himself "in" as a part of Peng's solid bloc, then he's fairly safe. Oh, and I suspect this will come up, so I may as well add it now: Quillion So, I concede that I might be sort of suspicious. I was like Kurk, another one of those guys following Peng, which as I just mentioned is a good place for the Inquisitor to hide. I've been quiet for almost the entirety of this game, just signing on for a quick roleplay or to post "I'm following the Mistborn, sorry x. Then, someone is converted, and I'm speaking up a lot more. That, quite frankly, is suspicious behaviour. I could understand everyone turning on me and wondering why I'm directing people in these directions, so I'm going to try and prove I am, in fact, above reproach. My character is a regular villager. If he's unsnapped and waiting for the opportunity, well, he hasn't rolled it yet. That, obviously, doesn't really help my credibility much. If there is an uber-smoking power and I was the Inquisitor, I could have covered myself up. I told Peng I'm a villager, so what I'm saying now matches up with that, for whatever that is worth. But, as Meta so helpfully added in the description of the class, not all stories are about the person with the most power. I'm not asking you guys to martyr me- though if you do, I think I deserve at least a Kelsier-sized cult- and putting myself out like this is sure to draw comparison to Beetle last game, but someone had to start, and I haven't been very active anyway. EDIT This is the part where I start saying "Oh expletive, oh expletive, oh expletive" until someone replies, confirming I've either done the right thing, or handed you all a knife and taken my shirt off.
