  1. Huh. Just realised I was voting of the poll forgetting. Quiller's eyes perked at Dyrings words. Someone else he could have to take into account, and make certain to report back. If the rebellion in Luthadel had shown anything, it was that the skaa were motivated by a single leader, but this group had lost theirs. He licked his lips. If there wasn't something -someone- to bind them together, what were the chances this entire crew would just fall apart? He had a feeling that Lord Ollivier wouldn't like that one bit... Anymore than he'd like you running a skaa gang? he reminded himself. He bit the nail of his thumb. No, Ollivier wouldn't like that, either. Maybe the old man had that in mind for later, to direct the group to his own ends, but now would be too soon. And, Quiller was sure, too presumptuous on the part of a mere agent. Instead, he started looking through the rank and file, to see who was likely to step to the mark- and noticed her immediatly. "Of course," he mumbled. It was in the nobility to lead. If that woman with her Terrisman stewart were a real noble, she'd seize control of the situation. He took out his page again, and waited to add notes. EDIT: You know, I agree with Aether, that rescinding the vote would be a good idea... but I can't help but notice he didn't mention Leo taking away my vote. Which would set off Mob-rule anti-mob rule in my direction, you cunning fiend! I may be reading too much into it, but I did warn you I would suspect everything you said after how I got played last time ; )
  2. The Shard of Slashers Before you asked why I was so concerned. It is for the following reason: Jason was once a kind and generous man, and you saw what became of him. Freddy, on the other hand, was among the most loathsome, crafty and dangerous individuals I had ever met. He holds the most frightening and terrible of all the shards. Ponder on that for a time, and tell if your insistence on nonintervention holds firm. Because I assure you, Freddy will not be similarly inhibited. Extract from a letter sent to Sunnydale. With Freddy's previous record, it is theorised that this letter was written by Nancy, and directed to someone with the ability to destroy a shard. EDIT: Word of Brandon:
  3. Mister Nagement. Just remember which side to fire upon; these creatures can be infused with Heamulrgy, but I doubt that means they'll be any gentler to you than they will be to us. Officer Shogun, co-ordinate with mister Nagement. Repell any intruders. The Survivor didn't like Inquisitors in his city, and I don't want them on my ship. Awakeners, I suggest doing some clever things with breaths. 'Shoot at the things trying to kill me' or whatever. Elantrians, use seons, or aons or whatever it is you do, but do not engage. Hemalurgy is messy, so for immortals, it'll probably hurt. Someone take over on the helm, and try evading them; if their sliding in and out of Shadesmar we might not be able to outrun them, but I damnation sure don't want to just sit here and let them hop aboard. And Commander Penguin- be ready to initaiate the WoB Self-destruct sequance. If we can't win, they certainly aren't.
  4. I was actually going to ask yesterday if we could get the time period shortened a little, since I thought the 48 hours were dragging a little, so I'd be all in favour of 36 hour Days. And having looked over the posts here, I say we give Peng a night or two to prove that he is a Mistborn. Speaking of preparation for the future though... Quiller sat back during the discussions, eyeing everyone, and making surrepitous notes. At one point, one of the crew threw up the blame at the feet of the nobles, and he stiffened; but nothing came of it, and the suggestiong was quickly silenced. For now. Still, he was the only one to actually speak up. Everyone else seemed to have reached the same conclusion as Lord Ollivier. Well, not exactly the same, he reminded himself. They probably don't want to kill someone who doesn't deserve it. He just doesn't know what to do. It would be best not to say that to his face, of course. It would be better if he could bring back some valuable information. So the obligator pulled out a pen and a sheet, and began scribbling in a code, starting with the one who had spoken against the nobles. Skaa, dirt (ash clean? Ver) Eyes on street, lk? No-nob, L.dell connect. Survivor(?)- L.O.
  5. Preservations perfect pompadour
  6. Firstly, wow, I cannot spell when I'm tired. Featger? Seems like a time autocorrect should. I've had a brief look at their website, and looked over the free rules they posted. It does seem interesting, albeit it definitely a game to play with people who already know the source material. I've been annoying a few people on the forums about RPGs, and my main concern is not being 'in' to it. I've only ever played a single session of a game before (which I can't remember the title of- it was a fantasy game whose book had very anime-like artwork) and while I found it fun, I'm a little wary of spending lots of cash on something that might never be used.
  7. Quiller stood at the back of the hall, trying not to retch. He had discarded the hood upon entering -let them know who they were dealing with- but as well as the tattoo's circling above them, there were bags hanging below. He hadn't drank the wine the night before, but he'd stayed until the last had gone, trying to find something he could pass along to his master. Lord Ollivier had sat behind his desk, his fingers steepled with a look of cool dispassion. His hairline was receding, and beneath the tattoo's, his eyes had seemed distant. "Is that all?" he asked as Quiller gave his report. "Yeb ser," Quiller said. His nose still stung, but he tried not to let it show. " I bean, yes, sir. They just talked and drank all night." "Of course they did," Lord Ollivier murmured. "But was there anything... unusual?" Looking at the body hanging off the hook, Quiller grimaced. This would qualify as unusual. Instead, he'd squirmed. "There was... one thing, my lord. A woman." Ollivier fixed him with a stare. "Skaa have women too," he said dryly. "No sir. I mean, they do, sir, but she wasn't a skaa. She looked noble." Ollivier frowned at that. Quiller made his way around the room. In normal society, he would have been invisible, but invisibility wasn't what he was here for. He was here as the representative of the Canton. "Act as my agent in this matter," Lord Ollivier had finally said. "Observe them. Find out what they know about the inquisitor. But don't trust any of them, and don't take action into your own hands again." He fixed Quiller with a stare. "If they show you disrespect, beat them. But kill no one. Find out about them." "My lord, a group this size... It may be difficult to keep track of them. Of their movements." He smiled, long, and thin, and cruel. "A group this size," he said, "is one with expendable bait." "Even the woman, sir?" Quiller had felt uncomfortable asking that then, and he felt it more so now. He didn't know why a beautiful noblewoman would be here, of all places, but he disliked the implications in lord Olllivier's words. "If she is one of us, Quiller, she will be under my protection. If not, she dies. You are dismissed."
  8. Sit?!? The representative of high lord Olivier just got knocked out by a thug, and you dare command me to sit. Proxy didn't see the blow coming because, well, who would? So one moment he was sitting, trying to be inconspicuous, the next, his nose had snapped against the wooden floor. A few moments must have passed in the interim, because when he rose, he was sure he saw more people. Though, on consideration, it might have just been the blow. "Bu," he said, struggling to his feet and glaring at the man who had displaced him. "Why did bu-" Then he noticed the bag bouncing in his aggressors hand. "Unhand that immeb... Immep... Right now," he said. He could taste tin in his mouth, and blood dropped down from his chin to the floor. "I'bm warning you. Bu don't know who bu are dealing birh. Skaa." And if the man insisted on challenging him, well, he was ready to show them just who he was. Lord Oliviers messenger was not to be trickled with. Theoretically. I'll probably end the interaction stuff soon then. I just figure I'll end up using Proxy to avoid the obligator tattoo problems, and besides- I want my plot hook back!
  9. Coated with atium EDIT Sorry guys, forgot to refresh before posting.
  10. I don't know what you were Shogun, but given the circumstances, your our new Tactical Officer. Congratulations. Now I suggest you blow this Catsquisitor all the way back to Damnation.
  11. The proxy scanned the room. Who am I even looking for? he realised with a jolt. Lord Ollivier had told him to find a crew leader by the name of Modeft, but which one of these was he? He wanted to stand up, demand on the authority of the Canton that things begin. Instead, he sunk lower in his seat, and waited.
  12. Lift is a... wired character. Details below.
  13. I'm so used to the people here reading the interludes, I forgot someone might not have. Sorry if it.sounded like an insult; it was just a jokey compliment.
  14. A man tugged his cloak closer around him. His eyes darted beneath his hood, and his hands fidgeted restlessly with the bag at his side. It wasn't a bag of coins- he wasn't going to bring that into a skaa bar. But it contained instructions for the provision of money, orders signed and sealed with the mark of the Canton of Orthodoxy. His signature wasn't on it, but the papers had been authorised by Lord Ollivier. The man in the bar was not Lord Ollivier. Lord Ollivier rarely ventured out of the canton these days. This mission had been given to an underling. Because Lord Ollivier couldn't be expected to do this, he thought bitterly. No. That might be dangerous. Or people might get the wrong idea. He fidgeted again. He was tempted to get a drink, march to the bar and show his tattoos and demand one if he had too... But he was probably going to need to be clear-witted if he wanted to ever leave this bar again. Lord Ruler. It's going to be a long night. Playing by Proxy; I don't have a role yet, but the Obligatory tattoos tell you what misting they are, so I figure Lord Ollivier needs to be offstage for a while.
  15. And so are the seeds of madness sown.Untrustworthy seeds, that led to us losing last time. Bad seeds.
  16. Er... Sorry. I can't tell from the tone if you're mad or laughing, or -now that I think about it- if the joke is relevant (I'm avoiding WoR spoilers). I'm just about the last guy who would use being a girl as a derogatory remark in the instance of the first. If you don't get the joke... Well, remember what I said. There should be a moment of clarity mid-way through the WoR interludes ; ) I should have made the Lift joke clearer, sorry about that. Trust me, I know the kind of excitement you're talking about.
  17. Oh dear. Let my rambling a here be a warning for future generations to behold: do not invoke the five minutes rule when you're exhausted. Does anyone know what the tags used to change text colour are? I write posts in the quick reply box at the bottom, and it's a pain to go back and edit colours in when I could just type it as I go.
  18. Exhaustion on my part, basically. I got Urteau mixed up with Luthadel and it escalated from there. If meta deletes those, I'll try making Ollivier an arrogant guy again. If he doesn't, I'll hand wave some excuse. He's been rather confused since he got that earring a few weeks ago...
  19. If you wouldn't mind having someone with absolute zero experience, I'd love to get some experience. For the moment, it might be a good idea for me to just stick with reading your stories though; again, as what is, in the common tongue referred to as a total no0b, I find the self more than a little overwhelmed at all this RPG terminology which I don't really understand. On that note, I looked at the combat arena and a shard bearer vs a thug and coin shot. That sounds interesting.
  20. in exasperation. "You're (And sorry for my major mistake in the elimination game thread. It's been some time since reading mistborn, and I got confused)
  21. It is entirely possible Lord Olliviers middle name is "Duchess". Serves me right for not bothering to refresh my mistborn knowledge lol.
