Warbreaker is a tropical setting, but admittedly it doesn't come into play very often. Still, that doesn't matter because, in my opinion, it is the best cosmere book. ...Though for maximum effect, I recommend reading it after you finish the Mistborn trilogy. For... reasons. Anyway, welcome!

...Are you Derpy Hooves? Because that's the only logical conclusion I can reach. (What? A web user is actually a grey-pony with wings is totally a logical conclusion to reach! Look at the muffins, man!)

Huh. I guess the extinction of the Dodo's wasn't a fixed point in time then, if the dates are so screwy,
-
...huh. And I thought "I read Way of Kings during storms!" was an interesting story. Way to top me, Indy, Anyway, aside from that insanely interesting tidbit of how you discovered Brandon- seriously? Jungle exploration? You can't just leave it at that!- Warbreaker bring your second favourite book? And being second on,y to a very recently released book, meaning until WoR came out it was your favourite? And Jasnah being one of your favourite characters? Yay! ...so yeah, welcome?

I don't know about Kobold, but you know what I did in 1662? Only wiped an entire species out of existence. According to Wikipedia anyway (and with the exact date being unknown), 1662 was the year the Dodo went extinct, among other things.

Quiver replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
Another sad victim of the Pandaspren.Anyway! I... haven't thought much about the character Iimentioned before...sorry! I've been kind of busy....though, since you guys just lost a fighter (ie, Winter), would you prefer if I came up with something more combat orientated than "hippy priest"?- 314 replies

Another one?! This really is the Pandastorm. Well, I'm off to re-found the Pony Radiants. In the meantime, though, welcome! I'm not as active in the non-social parts of the forum as I used to be, but it's still cool to see new members.

Brandon Sanderson can kill Nighthound.

Jack Frost is inferior to Russian Santa. Still, welcome! I haven't read Steelheart yet (I'm getting to it, I swear!), but Way of Kings is a pretty fun book. I actually have to step in to recommend Warbreaker, because it's my favorite book by Brandon, I think it's his best book, and it's available for free download from his site. Anyway... welcome!

No idea but between your arrival and the other Panda-named member in the introductions forum, this seems appropriate: “Unite them. The sun approaches the horizon. The bamboostorm comes. The True Desolation. The Night of Panda's.”

First of all- yay!I've been looking forward to these. I'm sort of torn on whether I want to ask what changes you decided to settle on for the world (presuming this is the Mistborn Ruin/Preservation splinter AU you were asking about before). On the one hand, I love world building... but on the other, keeping it a surprise for us as well as them sound slike the best idea. Mind if I ask for more information on who your player characters are, though? You mentioned a "twinborn", a spymaster and mistborn, but I'm sort of curious about the rest of the party and what their characters are like personality wise... though of course, typing up all that information for eight players might take a while. So... uh.. sorry for any inconvenience caused. You will be rewarded with upovotes though?

Actually, the same thing has happened me a few times. So... you know that you can insert pictures using the tag. But there is actually another way to do it as well... see 'reply to topic' box at the bottom of the topic? Notice how it has a few options in the bar just above where you type? The icon next to the blue <> symbol is for images; click that, then copy the link into the bar that appears, and it will place the image directly in the post. The only problem is that images? Can be big. So it can make it a little cumbersome to move around if you want to go back and edit some of what you typed, so if you do place the image directly, you should probably make sure everything else is set first. Honestly, that why I tend to prefer just linking pictures more. It takes up less space, and let's you set up 'punchlines' for the picture. If you don't know how to link an image to the text, well... see that row of options I mentioned? Next to the numbered bullet points is a small chain. Simple type some text in the box, highlight it, click the link icon and paste the url in the prompt box. Ta-dah! Hope that helped!

Funnily enough, I was thinking of changing my avatar anyway, at least temporarilly; there is a pony-based image I want to use for the Rambleman and Dawnsinger ranks, but I've been looking for a cool Arrow-based picture for a little while- get in touch with my roots, you know? Lol Anyway, first spoiler is my kind of rambling in response to Chaos... and as a forewarning, I don't mean to offend or bother anyone with it. It's mostly just my thoughts off the top of my head, so... sorry if I do give any otherwise unintended slight! Second spoiler? Traditional Quiver Pony Ramblings lol

So... welcome to the forum, and enjoy your stay. The correct answer to "what is your favorite book" is Warbreaker, by the way.
-
Warbreaker? Another member who shares my opinion that that is the best cosmere book? Queen, will you marry m- ...You know what? I think we need some time apart, to re-think our relationship. Bantering aside, welcome! Brandon's books do have a lot of awesome female characters. I'm guessing you've read it, but if you haven't, I recommend Way of Kings; it's not his strongest book, but it does have some awesome female characters in it (such as Jasnah), so... yeah. Welcome again!

There is a member named Lightsworn Panda, leading a Panda invasion in the Oregon forum, and an inexorable Panda just appears? Riiiiigggghhhttt... I'll be over here, waiting out the Pandapocalypse. ...Oh, and in the meantime, welcome to our new bamboo munching overlord. Really glad to hear someone else who has read and loves Warbreaker; that remains my favourite novel of Brandon's to date.

"Thank you," the grey pony- Maud- said, trotting through the doors and into the hall. Her associate, Pinkie, on the other hoof... Her eyes nearly glazed over as her tongue lolled out of her mouth at the scent. "Mmmhhhmmmm..." She managed to say, a dopey grin grin spread across her face as- seemingly led by her muzzle- she started to weave her way through the crowd towards the source of that delectable, melted goodness.

"We represent the largest rock farm in Equestria," the grey pony said. She reached behind, hitching the saddlebags, opening the flap and presenting it to the guard. The bag was full of rocks. Big rocks, little rocks, and in a range of colours. The pink pony grinned, bouncing between the pair and pulling out a small stone, flecked in two shades of grey. "Here ya go," she exclaimed, forcing it into the guards hand. "Help yourself to a free sample- I mean, might as well, right? It is free after all!" "We noticed there was a distinct lack of rocks in the city," the first pony continued, as if her associate had never spoken. "We thought that Elsa might be interested in purchasing some." "We offer the best price," Pinky added with a grin, "and we don't even charge for shipping!"

The Emperors Soul? But not Elantris? That's sort of surprising and interesting.

Eight! Someone say Seven, so the countdown can continue! And Mailliw- YES. I'm a big Arrow fan if you didn't know; I'm also a big fan of Jack Harkness. So Captain Jack, playingb(arguably) the main villain in a show I like? Yes. I actually considered using Merlyn as a picture, after I had used Oliver for a while, but...never really found one Zi liked.

Those pictures only solidify my belief that, in something that takes them "seriously" as animals, unicorns would be downright terrifying. Anyway, yeah; awesome pictures, but thanks for the link to Sandara's gallery as well. Even discounting MLP ( :gasp:!), there is a lot of fantastic artwork there.

I regret... well, I regret a lot of things. But I only regret this a little bit. Newcago was wonderific! The ice coating the city streets made skating down them even easier and funnerer than it would have been if they were just plain old dirt roads, and those lamps lining every street were just amazing. Back home, if anypony wanted light after park, they had to open the lamps, light the fire themselves, then sit around and make sure the fire didn't accidentally spread and burn an entire town down- but here, they were just like pop, and on they went. It was almost like a sort of magic. And the ice coating everything made everything all sparkly! It was like the Crystal Empire all over again, except it was steel instead of crystal. Did that mean the ponies who lived here were Steel Ponies? Because the only thing more awesome than getting a new friend was getting a whole new species to be friends with! Yep, they may have just been passing through, but the salesponies had already decided that this place was fantastamazing, even if the grey pony didn't say as much. Really, there was only one thing missing, but since that was something that was missing from almost everywhere (and everywhere else didn't have enough of it to begin with), that was completely understandable. The two approached the entrance to the court, and approached one of the guards. "Hello," the first mare said. Grey coated with a purple mane, her voice was deadpan and even. "We're here to see Queen Elsa." "We're very excited," the second added, her coat and voice as vibrant as the first one was flat. She bounced up and down, causing the small saddlebags tied to her to bounce up and down with her, accompanied by a strange rattling noise from inside them. "But I mean, I bet you could totally tell that already, because this place is soooooo exciting to begin with that we can hardly contain our excitement!" "We'd like to talk to Elsa about rocks," the first pony added. She stared at the guard before slowly- glacially- blinking. Salespony!Pinkie and Salespony!Maud. Because why not? ..I really need to get working on a Quiver Pony OC...

It just amuses me that the pony most guys like and identify with is the one who used to be the most fashion conscious. (Though the collage missed her horrid "twenty percent cooler" dress from Suited for Success in favor of a Rarity fan edit? For shame!

This is hilarious, and my new headcanon. ...What? No one ever said General Discussion topics had to be serious all the time, right?
-
I just wanted to add that I will never cease to be amused by the fact that Rainbow Dash used to be known for this.
