  1. I'm keeping my vote where it is. Danosaur coming on to just say that he's not a GA isn't really convincing and it took us voting for him to get him to even say that much. I'm fine doing Clanky's set up, but there was talk of protecting the Bankers by putting people in the streets. Did that get vetoed? Cause I don't mind the idea of another layer of protection for our Bankers.
  2. It finally makes sense why you've been wanting to stay away from everyone. You're saving it up for when you can go for the secondary win. Possibly why you're willing to be scanned as well. It allows you to kill off one of the few people in another gang that can kill you outright. Not holding it against you; I'm just saying. Seems pretty nice that you picked somewhere where the rest of your gang wouldn't likely go and then urged everyone else to stay away from it. Also explains why you want Rae returned too. Honestly, I'd rather go for Danosaur over Dragon. He's been active elsewhere, but hasn't checked in here except for orders. Seems like a pretty common tactic to me. I'm saying this even though I suspect he's part of my gang. He's checked my PM with him multiple times and still hasn't said anything. And we can't trust him to put in orders for the Banker scan since he won't say one way or another. If he's willing, I'll switch my vote. I'm off for the night, but I'll go with whatever everyone agrees with in the morning. If people want Dragon (sorry for getting the gender wrong!) scanned instead, I'll change my orders to somewhere other than the Pub (which is my current location).
  3. Well sparks. With Wonko being a GA, that basically kills my suspicions. I kind of doubt that Aman wound up voting for Wonko and that they're on the same team, considering how close the vote was. While I'll wait to see what happens as far as anyone double claiming, I doubt Clanky would come out first if he knew that there was another out there. That means we should focus on the Gov Building. Both Elodin, Dragon, Danosaur, and myself have all been in there for both kills. I know I didn't do it, so it's got to be one of the other three. Danosaur has been basically inactive other than putting in his location order. I have a PM with him and while he's read it, he hasn't responded at all. Elodin has been fairly quiet and he's constantly questioning other people's ideas without adding in his own thoughts, but I've always gotten the impression that he was at least trying. Dragon came right out of the gates this cycle, going after me, so that makes me think that she could be our GA. Pretty simple plan after all; keep me alive and then throw suspicion on me since I haven't been attacked yet. Also, I volunteer to be scanned via Lopen's plan as well. I'll go ahead an put in my orders for the warehouse, if everyone agrees.
  4. Here, let me help you out one last time with this one: and and,(ə)n/ conjunction used to introduce an additional comment or interjection. "if it came to a choice—and this was the worst thing—she would turn her back on her parents" I'll break it down for you as well: As far as the hit on Blade goes, I think that the GAs, as Lopen and Clanky (what a weird coincidence!) pointed out, must have guessed that she was a Banker. and I believe that's the only reason I wasn't attacked last night. Do you see now? I never said that you or Lopen claimed anything as a reason for why I wasn't hit. I used a conjunction to connect two lines of thought on the same subject matter. That's how linguistics works! Your focus on this means you still haven't actually answered the heart of the suspicion, which, again, is that both you and Lopen seem to be working together pretty closely and that you had prior knowledge of the reasoning behind the kill. Why are you avoiding that to focus on a fiction? We get to pick locations every day turn. We don't get another round of PMs for two cycles. How does that make sense again? PMs are far more scarce this game than switching locations is. Clanky, Clanky.... You seem to be having the worst time understanding the general concepts of linguistics. Between this and the "and" situation above, I have to ask why you're struggling with this? Is it intentional or do you truly not understand it? This one is at least a little bit fairer to you. I didn't explain what I meant by the last part. I was going through your arguments one by one. The second "due to your plan" was about when you said that people had abandoned my plan for yours. I did never say that. You are the one who keeps pushing this idea that I did. I've not said anywhere that you said, "hey guys, let's not do Meta's plan. Let's do this instead." So you can stop pushing that narrative. The first "due to your plan" was about how your plan makes sure that the GAs become an integral part of the gang structure and made sure that they give and receive PMs. They are not connected trains of thought. Thus why they are separated into separate paragraphs. So, hopefully that clears that up and you can answer my actual questions rather than focusing on perceived and blatantly false accusations.
  5. Why is it that, even after it's been clarified before, people still think my plan was for the gangs to continue traveling together after the first night? You keep on saying this as if it would still be in effect! It was supposed to be only for the first night, so we could all learn our gangs without wasting our PMs and/or points, so those things can go towards finding the GAs. It's like you're trying to force the idea that it was in the interest of the GAs when it was anything but. Due to your plan, you actually may be in contact with a GA. There's no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. They are spread throughout the gangs. Your plan was to use the PMs to contact most of your gang. It's almost guaranteed that they're going to get a PM from someone. Granted, they have their own PMs to send out and you may have wound up PMing one without your plan, but your plan makes them an integral part of a chain to keep the gangs together and you don't see how you've given them a far better position than before? At least before your plan, it was still random. They might have gotten a PM or they might not. Your way practically makes sure they do. I never said that it was due to your plan. It's "ridiculous" for you to even think that. And finally, I never said you did say anything about me being attacked. You seem to be going to great lengths here to twist what I said. I only said that you and Lopen both made assumptions about why Silverblade was attacked. In a way, I was agreeing with you. I just think that you came to the conclusion because you had some additional knowledge about the kill, so if you really want to address something, go after that. I'm not going to keep repeating myself about my plan and it's intent, considering you seem to be quite confused by it entirely, but I am going to point out this; That was Lopen's post on where the gangs should've been meeting up last night. I even responded to it: The entire idea was to make sure that all the gangs had a place to go that would give them some benefit (another reason why I don't understand what you're all going on about with my plan). So while you are correct on the headquarters of each gang, you're still wrong. So you're trying to find the Banker of another gang? Am I reading that right? How is that supposed to make it any better?
  6. Okay, I'm back back and I'm going to go over all the stuff I missed, just in case. Let's start with the vote on Phatt. First off, why is no one talking about that bandwagon (that cost us a Commander in one of the gangs)? All throughout the day, it was never brought back up, even though it seems pretty clear to me that it was a sudden push on a player for very little reasoning. In fact, the only real reason given was that they didn't want to kill Lopen; someone that I'm not sure isn't a GA as is. Then there's this from Clanky: The problem here is that he said this at the beginning of the night turn. And that it's blatantly false. Even before his vote, Maill clarified what happens in a tie vote: So either he missed it, even though multiple people brought it up before his vote, or he's lying about his reasoning. And yet no one called him on it. Why not? I'm thinking that the GAs hoped that we had just missed it and they weren't about to bring up themselves. Beyond that, a lot of what he's added to the conversation since hasn't been all that helpful. As Elb pointed out, my plan was only for the first night and it was side tracked by Clanky's plan to use the PMs; a plan that will guarantee that some of the GAs will wind up getting a PM from someone else in their gang and can use that to leverage more information. As far as the hit on Blade goes, I think that the GAs, as Lopen and Clanky (what a weird coincidence!) pointed out, must have guessed that she was a Banker and that's the only reason that I wasn't attacked last night. Well, that and the possibility that I would have protection, but since we're all still trying to figure out who is in our respective gangs (something that wouldn't have been the case if we had all followed my plan), if I were them, I would've still been willing to chance it. Bankers, be careful about who you wind up revealing to! As I said above, with Clanky's plan, the GAs likely will be in contact with people within their gang. They very well could be who you already have a PM with even! I'd also like to address Aman. You're mixing up a lot of information in your posts. First and foremost, you didn't like either of the plans laid forth on the first day. In fact, your reasoning for one of them was basically that it hindered the GAs too much! Part of our job as Villagers is to try to make things as hard on the Eliminators as possible. It's what causes them to slip up and let us find them. Then, you were unwilling to take part in the vote, but if you did, you'd come down on the side of siding with Lopen; which, as I've said before, was a suspicious turn in the voting, IMO. You messed up the meeting locations of the gangs for another and then tried to use that to cast suspicion on me: The Gov Building was the location for one of the gangs to meet (Yes, I'm a Blood Tyrant). I went to where my gang was supposed to be because I believed it was our best bet to solidify the gangs in a way that left the Bankers free to use their points to hunt for GAs. Also, to answer your question about activity, I did say that I was likely going to be less active early on even before the game started. As I've said a few times now, I should have a lot more free time from here on out. As far as your concerns from the previous night: I was the one to suggest that all the gangs work together, remember? How does my plan benefit the faction aspect more than catching the GAs when my entire plan was to catch all of the GAs first? Also, how are you going to say that my plan was making the GAs' job easier and then go against a plan based on the fact that it makes the GAs' job harder? I'm not saying that I'm suspicious of you just yet, but you do seem to be twisting things into pretzels here to paint me as suspicious. I'm also very curious as to how you supposedly know who your Snitch is, but don't have a PM with them yet. If someone told you that in a PM, then they wouldn't be able to have a PM with the Snitch unless they were the Snitch. Unless you got that information from another Eliminator? So, I think that about covers everything. If I missed something, feel free to ask away. I'd typically wait until the day turn before going off like this (or at least wait until nearer to the end of the turn), but I've already been gone for longer than I would've liked before saying anything (plus I still have a trick or two up my sleeve, in case the GAs do want to have a go at me ). EDIT: Aman; how are you supposedly in contact with your Banker when Silverblade is dead? Are you claiming you have two Bankers? Either you're lying or the person claiming so to you is.....
  7. Sorry I haven't been on, guys! I did warn you that I might be gone for the first bit here, but now I've finished up my final projects and I'm on Spring Break officially! I'll go over today and find out what I missed and we'll figure something out for tonight.
  8. I don't like it. This looks more like people are trying to save Lopen than anything. Why? What do we really learn from killing Phatt? At least with Lopen, we have some discussion between him and other players. We don't learn anything from Phatt's death other than who he was. I'm highly suspicious of this lynch train....
  9. While I don't have a problem with Captains finding out for sure certain members of their gang, it feels like a waste if we're all on board with the plan of each gang meeting up somewhere to start. We shouldn't be wasting points when they could go towards something more useful, like PMs. Of course, they could find out other gangs' affiliation, but that's still not as useful, IMO, unless you're going for the faction win before we find the GAs. What's wrong with difficult? Go big or go home, IMO. We can figure out how to make it work after the GAs are dead. At least then, we'll have eliminated one of the threats to us before we start backstabbing. Besides, seems to me that you're really trying to push for the faction war, which seems like a dividing tactic to me. Granted, as you said, I might just be trying to unify my own gang, but this still helps everyone initially. It lets them save up their points for other things, rather than spending time on figuring out who is in their gang. As far as your plan goes, it's not bad. It spreads us out and thus makes it easier to pinpoint who made the kill. My problem with it is the same one that happened in LG9. Not everyone will follow it (partially because some people will be inactive) and then the GAs will just kill someone in the streets; giving us no information on where they are anyways. Also, your plan doesn't protect me in particular, because there's no way to know that the people in the room with me have any form of protection abilities as is and if I'm right about you (and Strawman is inching up on my list as well for trying to get people to waste points), then it might be worthwhile for them to sacrifice one of theirs to get rid of me anyways. I'd rather take my chances with my gang and hope that we have a Bodyguard or Angry Guard among us. I was just going to use their headquarters as a starting place, but your way does maximize our efficiency, IMO. The Pearl District would be at a disadvantage if we're working together after all. If they start out stealing points from the rest of the gangs, this all dissolves into chaos. So, while I'm not removing my vote, I'm okay with this set up. Putting my order in.
  10. If we're all working together, then it doesn't really matter if an opposing gang member does that. Plus, we don't have to kill off all other members of the rival gangs, just their Epics. Besides that, if they don't go to their respective headquarters, then the rest of their own gang won't know that they're a part of their gang and they'll be less trusted in their own gang even (because they could be a spy from a rival gang trying to weasel their way into their gang). I'm actually starting to get suspicious of you, Lopen. You put forth a plan early on, but then you're trying to subtly block any other plans. Perhaps that's because you're trying to guide everyone to a plan that works out best for the Eliminators? EDIT: You can consider this an answer to Elodin's concerns as well.
  11. Another idea: we're trying to find out who everyone in our gang is, right? So why don't we have each gang dictate their headquarters as their location for today? We see who is all in our location, right? So if we did this, then everyone in your location is a part of your gang. Granted, there might be a few people who either don't send in orders or who pick a location that they're not a part of that gang, but if we're all working together as is, then this shouldn't be an issue and even if it is, our Commanders would sniff them out fairly quickly. This sets us back on being able to make full use out of some locations, but it does free up the Bankers even more.
  12. If the game ends whenever just one of the gangs gets their win con, then this could be a very short game. What if we get lucky and off a GA today and they were the only one in that gang and their rival gang doesn't have an Epic yet? I don't think it works that way.
  13. So I've been trying to come up with a plan for finding the GAs and I noticed something. Based on the win conditions, technically, all the gangs can win together. We just have to eliminate the GAs within our own gang and then eliminate the Epics in a rival gang. I think it behooves us to all work together rather than to fall into side fighting. If we do that, then we're just opening ourselves up to be killed off by the GAs easier. So here's what I'm thinking, we focus on the GAs without regard for which gang their in. Once they're dead, each gang can offer up their Epics. Since the Epics are still part of their respective gangs, even if they die, they still win. This way, we can all work together without worrying about backstabbing and can turn the full focus of all the gangs to locating the GAs. I for one, if I turn into an Epic, would gladly offer myself up for the block after the GAs are dead. I'd rather be dead and win then be alive and lose. Thoughts?
  14. Spring Break starts this upcoming week for me, so I'll definitely be joining in the fun. I just haven't had time to really come up with a character yet. Let's see.... I'll be Megan (no relation). Her dad was a survival nut and since he always wanted boys, he taught her how to survive and shoot (I said, no relation!). She's a fiery redhead and she can be pretty blunt. Underneath it all though, she's a bit insecure. She doesn't feel like she fits in anywhere and so she's trying to find herself (No, really, stop. There's no relation). Maybe on the hardened streets of Portland? .......Okay, there might be a few similarities. *Note: I do still have a few things left to finish up before I can just really relax. I'll try to be on top of things early on as much as possible, but if I'm a bit less active than usual for the first cycle or so, forgive me.
  15. As Joe so succinctly put, anyone and everyone can run a game. We have a list of people who have already signed up in the post below the General Rules thread and we try to go in order. That doesn't mean that some jumping around hasn't happened and all of our GMs have been very accommodating when it comes to letting someone run their game during a time that best fits for the person. You can either have your name added to the list by posting where Joe directed you or you can PM one of us Mods and we'll get you added to the list. We have group PMs set up for our GMs as well, so that new GMs can get advice and tips from people who have already been through the process; so you won't just be going in blind. All in all, we've strived to make things as welcoming and easy on people who want to GM as possible. Their job isn't an easy one and without them, there wouldn't be nearly as many or as amazing of games to play!
  16. Well, unfortunately, it's well past time to lock this game up. So unless Phatt wants to reopen it at a later date to do the aftermath, I guess we'll never know if The Reckoners wound up defeating Perseus. That said, the bigger showdown for me was the one between the Reckoners and our Epic players! Congrats to the Reckoners for the win. You did David and the rest proud. I really like how Phatt combined the powers as well. That was a nice touch that I think really kept everyone on their toes. Now, as always, if anyone would like to try your hand at running a game, please get a hold of Gamma, Wilson, Alvron, or myself. Not only will we get you added to the list, but I'm sure we'd be more than willing to help out in any way we can as well! You can also ask questions and get some hints and feedback from everyone over here in our Art of Game Creation thread as well. With all the games that we've run so far, we have plenty of experienced GMs that can help you refine any game you're thinking about! Thanks again to everyone that played and we look forward to seeing you in future games!
  17. As I said in the Dead Doc, it's magic. I don't know how I do it, especially as often as I do. In all honesty, I attribute it to luck and dying early so often. When you get used to having only a few turns to figure out as much as you can, you figure out how to make the most of that time. I highly recommend everyone give it a try! Great game, everyone! I love nailbiters like this one came down to. You can almost feel the anxiety build up in those still alive. One false move, one incorrect read, and it's all over. No pressure! Good job El and Twei! Come up with an awesome name for the gang for all of us fallen! Mark, if people trust you after this, I'd be surprised (Only here can such a thing be considered a compliment ). Only two games in and you've been able to fool most people right up till the end! That's impressive. I'm kind of hoping you get a break in your next game and get a chance to play things from the Villager's side, but I also want to see your streak continue just to see what you'll do next. Thanks for GMing, Alv! Can't wait to see what you've got in store for the finale!
  18. I think it's about time we closed this game, so a final congrats to the Diagrammists! Personally, I really liked how this one played out. There's a lot of neat mechanics in here (like the ranking system) that I thought turned out really well. I'm hoping that we'll see something like that again sometime in a game I can play in (*wink. wink. nudge. nudge, future GMs*)! Wilson and Kas did a great job of balancing a lot of the difficulties in a faction game as well as a regular game and that's no easy task. So definitely a round of applause for our GMs!
  19. Aftermath: Cursed The next few days passed in a blur for the Koloss; not that most days didn’t. The only days that had any amount of clarity to them were the days when their bloodlust was high. They drew closer and closer to what their bodiless master told them was their destination. One of the smaller Koloss, one that they called Terris due to the bloodied, V-shaped robe he had come back wearing a few days ago, felt something close to anticipation as they neared the blackened area that spewed forth the seemingly never ending smoke. But even that strong of a reaction was uncommon. Finally, the day arrived. The blackened area, when seen up close, turned out to be the husks of buildings and the never ending smoke was coming from the charred remains. As the Koloss gathered roughly 100 meters from the boundary of the village, Terris could tell from there that no building had been spared. The dismal state of the village did nothing to curb their unseen master’s orders though. They were to march to this spot and then destroy and that’s what they were going to do. They started working each other up into a frenzy. There was no response from the village. The Koloss beat on the ground, throwing up snow and boulders all around them. They beat on each other, using the pain to drive them deeper into the bloodlust. Still no sign. A trap perhaps? A few moments more and it didn’t matter one way or another. One of the larger Koloss, within the full extent of the rage, picked up a younger and threw the fresh one towards the village. The young Koloss surprisingly made it the entire distance, but splattered against one of the building supports still standing. As if that one action had released the floodgates, the Koloss charged. They crossed the field to the edge of the village in seconds. There was no fighting back. Many of the Koloss started hacking at what remained of the buildings, determined to tear them down. Many more flooded the streets and alleyways between the shells, pushing further inward and looking for people to slaughter. They heard no screams of panic. Terris, near the front of the horde started to feel uneasy; an odd sensation for him. Where was the prey? Why did no one attack them? Koloss were used to fighting, but there was no one here to fight! Where they hiding, hoping that the Koloss would not find them? Eventually, the Koloss roared their way into the center of town and into the town square. What they found there made even the largest of them stop, the bloodrage subsiding as they tried to figure out what to make of it all. Bones. They had found a mountain of bones. There, piled all together in the middle of the square were all that remained of the villagers. Well, except for 4 people, but the people were marked by their headless master and were to remain unharmed. *** Clara sat on her new throne on top of the pile of bones. Kilven had helped her make it. After they had finished slaughtering everyone in Tyrian Falls, they had still had plenty of time to get one of his forges working again. In return, he had used some of the bones and joined them together to make her throne. It was truly a work of art. Ribcages lined the back of the chair so that it seemed to encompass the person sitting in it and there were skulls for the hand rests. From her vantage, she could see Kilven and Unknown sitting around the bonfire they had created to help keep the cold at bay. Unknown sat on the far side. He was having dinner with his new “family.” Since he couldn’t remember his own, he had “acquired” a new family from the bodies of his victims. El was one of them. On the other side of her mountain, Kane was watering his flowers. His new source of fertilizer was doing wonders for them, even in the harshness of winter, and there were already buds tearing forth from the ground. Clara shook her head. Such an odd bunch for Ruin to assemble. A Florist, an Amnesiac, a blacksmith, and a hard-on-her-luck Noblewomen? And she shouldn’t forget Mrs. Lippen, the Seamstress. Though she had died, she had been an important member of the team and her death had helped the rest of them. As she tapped one of the skulls for the hand rest, she wondered if one of them was Lippen’s. No matter and it wasn’t for her to judge who Ruin had picked either. It had obviously worked. They had singlehandedly taken out the entire village. The Koloss were unnecessary. The four of them were an army for Ruin in their own right. As the Koloss looked on at their display, befuddled, Clara smiled. She popped an almond in her mouth and waited to see what Ruin would decide…. *** Ruin’s attention was divided. He watched as the Koloss swarmed the village. The fact that they did not have anything left to destroy didn’t bother him in the slightest. His goal wasn’t the destruction of just one, insignificant town. He was also watching the events in Luthadel. Evidently, word of the crisis in Tyrian Falls hadn’t made it to the capital yet. Vin still remained there; safe amongst her friends. He needed to draw her out. He needed to remind her that it wasn’t over. With Rashek now gone, someone else would have to find the Well of Ascension and this gave Ruin the opportunity he needed. He just needed to give her a reason to begin searching. So it didn’t matter to him whether it was one village or a hundred. Sooner or later, word would arrive and Vin would come. Then, he could find his body. The dead stood in some strange place. It seemed to be made entirely out of mist. They couldn’t even explain how they knew that everyone else was there. They were all spread out at varying distances, their spectral forms hidden in the swirling clouds. Slowly, things started appearing in the mist. “Things” was the only definition that they could give them. They looked liked regular objects or buildings, but they looked as if they were made of more condensed versions of the mist itself. A light appeared in the distance. It sat at about eye level and it shone too brightly to stare at directly for long. Such an odd thing for ghosts to experience. The light pushed against the mist and the mist slowly gave ground. Except for the condensed mist. That mist started to become even more substantial and changed colors as needed. With dawning horror, the dead began to recognize their surroundings. It was Tyrian Falls as it had been before they had heard word of the approaching Koloss. They were back. As the mist retreated, so too did their memories. By the time Slart came running up to the edge of the city, out of breath, but frantic to let everyone know what he had found on his hunt, the only thing that any of the dead remembered of the time before was the feeling of dread. “Guys,” Slart panted between breaths. “You won’t believe what I found. Koloss. They’re camped a couple weeks almost due west of us. And I’m pretty sure that they’re coming this way.” And that’s a wrap! Again, sorry it took so long. Is it okay if I blame Sanderson for releasing a new book around the same time? Either way, sorry and I hope it was worth the wait. Congrats to our Spiked! They win again! And now, Tyrian Falls is well and truly cursed due to it. Three times in a row? Won’t you guys take pity on this poor village and save it from itself? I joke, but they really do deserve some praise. After the first day and Lopen getting lynched, I worried on whether or not they stood a chance! They definitely proved me wrong! To the rest of the Village, there’s a cure for every curse, right? Maybe next year, eh? If you guys have any questions, comments, or anything else for me, I’ll do my best to answer them here. Also, feel free to discuss and talk about the game amongst yourselves here as well! Thank you, each and every one of you for playing; not only this game, but all of them. Without you, there would be no games at all. Let’s have another great year of games and bloodshed and chaos! I’d say this game is set to start us off right in those regards! Master Doc Master Spreadsheet Mistborn Heaven Ruin’s Guide to Destruction Till next time!
  20. Working on it today actually. I had all of my classes decide everything was due last week and then I was distracted by some book that just recently came out (and I still need to read the new Novella!). It should be done tonight. My apologies for the wait.
  21. My apologies for my tardiness, but I'm in the process of writing the Aftermath. I will likely have it posted sometime tomorrow, but the Spiked win! .....Again! Looks like the Curse of Tyrian Falls continues to hold. Maybe next year?
  22. Night 11: Cat and Mouse Most people didn’t notice Exisa 90% of the time and he preferred it that way. So it was disheartening to him that they had focused their attention on him now! “Which way did he go?” “I think I saw him turn right. Let’s go!” Exisa breathed a sigh of relief from his hiding spot behind some crates. His shorter stature was paying off for him right now. It had all began early this morning, when he’d been the one to discover Lu’s body in an alleyway. He had gone to the rest of the village, but their paranoia now rivalled, if not surpassed, his own. They wound up accusing him of being the one to have killed here and was now rubbing it in the villagers’ faces by claiming to have just “found” her. Considering Exisa felt like everyone was out to get him anyways, this was just the kind of proof his twisted mind needed. So, rather than stand there and defend himself, he bolted. As he suspected, the villagers gave chase and a game of cat and mouse began; Exisa never once wondering if maybe he was helping to create a self-fulfilling prophecy for himself. For a village as beaten down as Tyrian Falls was, the villagers were tenacious. Perhaps they were devolving to based instincts, but as the day wore on and the chase still continued, their bloodlust just kept going up a notch. Exisa knew that if he wanted to survive, he’d have to leave. He had a number of plans ready for just such an occasion; he just needed to get to his house to gather a few things. He crept around the side of the crates. His luck wasn’t with him though, as at just that moment, Clara and Kane rounded the corner. They all stood there, uncomprehending the situation, for a moment. Exisa was the first to break the spell as he darted back down the alley and away from the two. They took off after him, of course, shouting the entire way and drawing the rest of the villagers. Exisa dodged between bodies and sidestepped more than a few swinging clubs. He ducked down one street and then another; barely staying ahead of the mob. As he went to round one corner, his foot slipped out from beneath him on a sheet of ice and he went sprawling. It was the break the villagers needed and they quickly fell on him; bashing him and kicking him in their blind rage. They were so busy with their search and their massacre that no one noticed that the Koloss had crested a hill and were so close now that they could barely be seen with the naked eye…. 23. Day 10: Curiosity Kills Lu had always dreamed that she would be a spy someday. The town only knew her as a busybody, but in her imaginations, she was a superb spy who knew everything about everyone. The only problem was that she could never keep her discoveries a secret. She had to show them off, to make everyone realize how great a spy she was. Tonight she was practicing her spying skills. She snuck around, clad entirely in black, watching for any sign of movement and moving so quietly she almost couldn’t hear herself. She peered in a few windows, but nothing particularly interesting was going on. She was about to call it a night when she noticed that she wasn’t the only one out and about. There was someone else stalking through the streets tonight. Someone else who desperately wanted to be a spy? Or was this her chance to really prove her skills and find one of the Spiked! So it was no surprise to her then when she decided to follow the shadowy figure. They weren’t exactly hiding, but they were also not carrying a torch. The skulker made a circuit of basically the entire town, with Lu following as stealthily as she could the whole way. She felt pretty proud of herself, since the figure didn’t seem to have spotted her. The figure ducked into a darkened alley and Lu rushed a little to keep up. She was halfway down the alley when the figure stopped at the other end and turned back towards her. With a rush of fear, but also a touch of excitement, Lu ducked behind a mound of snow and flattened herself against a wall. She was fairly certain that she hadn’t been seen, but the figure didn’t move from their spot. As she waited for the figure to move on again, she went to look around and was surprised when she noticed that someone else was now standing at the mouth of the other side of the alley. She was trapped between them; unable to move in the event that one of them would spot her in her hiding place. Her breathing hitched up a pace as her anxiety began to climb. Were they friends or foes? What would happen if they started fighting each other here and now? What if the new person scared off the skulker she was tailing? She was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t notice the third figure standing at the lip of the roof above her. Since she didn’t, she was unaware of the fact that they were carrying a large chunk of stone and positioning it above her. And she definitely didn’t realize that the sudden whistling sound she heard was said boulder falling towards her…. There was a sickening crunch as the boulder struck and then nothing. The two figures departed in silence. *Special thanks to Elbereth for her help with the write up!* Day 10 beings! You have 48 hours until the end of the turn. Lu was a Village Smoker!
