Do we have verification that each month has 10 weeks? If they do each have 10 weeks then we are looking at 19.27 hour days If they are 24 hour days we are looking at 407 day years
-
So the first epigraph of way of kings "The love of men is a frigid thing, a mountain stream only three steps from the ice. We are his. Oh Stormfather…we are his. It is but a thousand days, and the Everstorm comes.” Collected on the first day of the week Palah of the month Shash of the year 1171, thirty-one seconds before death. Subject was a darkeyed pregnant woman of middle years. The child did not survive. Does any one know how many days are in a standard Roshar year and anyone know what all the months are as well as there order? The reason I bring this up the journal entry in Navani's journal is dated 1174. 3x365 is 1095 so I'm guessing I'm thinking that her journal is from after the Everstorm arrived. my understanding is that a Roshar year is less then an earth year. Let me know what you think.

I don't think thats the case. I have always felt Gavilar's last word refered to the radiants ideals. Also in the reading we have confermation they did it to stop something returning no becuase odium told them to.
-
What if it takes effort for ivory to hide and he just had forgot to hide himself from her.
-
Some have guessed that the stone Gavilar had was a fabrial but, what if it was a key to locking surgebinding possibly a key piece of some fabrial that blocked the bond and prevented to parshendi god from returning. Maybe when he turned it off thats when the parashendi started bonding and when Szeth was able to gain his abilitys. Then as time went on bonds started to appear naturaly again.

I would like to point out I think he was seeing them before he cut the strap. Seeing them is what has made him paranoid in part I'm sure it is some other secret.

You could say Shallan's drawings are a reflection of the world just like a mirror.
-
I don't think he would want to be the last person, in a really messed up way that would create peace. If he is the only one left he can't hate anything or create hate in others then. I think his end goal is more complicated then total destruction

I don't think in shadesmar isn't the land is were the ocean is and there is ocean were there is land, not that it would really matter in a realm composed of thought. I agree for the most part I think that the knights broke their bond and the spren were trapped in the physical realm but lacking their bond completely lost there ability think. look at the difference we see in the 4 spren. Syl was mindless at first but drawn to the honor that Kaladin showed. The criptic once bonded to shallon seems child like much like syl at first. I would bet that jasnah's spren was the same way she just didn't start talking with it until it recovered more. Wyndle apparently was sent to bond were the other three appear to have chosen there own bond. It's possible Jasnah's spren took similar measures.

Storm-light might not be the only source of energy

Ya a sturdy cage on the top of a building is far more effective then any lever system. -
But lerasium is a soild drop of preservations power you would for all intents become preservation but that quote does tell me how to in a way reform a shattered shard. If you were able to store up enough stormlight without it killing you could become a replacement shard. That also leads me to wondering if an elantrian could channel enough power to reform the shard on Sel.

So a couple of threads got me thinking. All things in the physical realm also have cognative and spirital aspects but, the cognative realm can have things that do not exist in the physical realm and do so to with the spiritual realm. Objects or entitys fron the other 2 realms can move into the physical realm and have form there. So is it possible for one to go to the spiritual realm from the physical and interact there. Could you destroy someones spiritual aspect and what effect would that have on them. I just want to hear some thoughts on this.

Agreed koloss are not a good example for this theory but im sure the lord ruler would have tried to keep his minons from immortality just to prevent one of them from growing too powerfull and overthrowing him. Edit also aging and growth are not the same thing
-
It hard to say the heralds are immortal becuase they have investiture and not they have investiture to make them immortal. Those are to very differnt things.
-
True but i believe he comments on it at the time
-
Elantrian could still die from their wounds like if you bashed someones head in were the poor guy that got mugged in the begining of the book was still alive after having his skull crushed in.
-
I thought you had to burn the body. Anyway the normal elantrains and the corrupted ones have diffrent forms of immortality
-
Not able to be retrived is not the same as burned up. Also all energy at some point returns to a shard unless they use their power wrong. I agree that it does seem like high investiture slows aging but from the systems we see we also dont know that it was not intentionaly done. Inquisitors were made to enforce for the lord ruler and he would not want his servents to have to change every few years so making them age slower i could see being intentional. Elantrians were made so using that power to create a form of immortality seems logical Breaths are part of life so keeping a person alive after a point make sense. Drab people have children with a breath other wise with all the returned would burn through all breaths after a time.
-
I think 1000 stone lifeless charging at you is more powerfull than any rock you could toss at them. I just don't think the to systems compare well. I think a better comparison for power is 1 breath to 1 brom of stormlight

Storm-light might not be the only source of energy

If Roshar is one of 2 medium size contients its possible that life there was created there to survive massive hurricanes and now that there are the high storm normal weather is gone and replaced them and the plant and animal life just continued. But i think that the high storms have been around during the epochs. Dalinar comments that the house is next to a large rock out cropping or something to protect to from the storm wall -
I just want to point out 1breath is capable of reanimeating a human body so its innate power is reletive its all in how its commanded. They make a point to say that it changed war when they learned the 1 breath command to create lifeless.
-
Nicrosil metalmind I admittedly don't know much about it but, just because the metal can hold Investiture does not really mean the person would have the ability to store that investiture. Hoid does claim to be fond of his storm light so maybe he is using it to power his magic and that is why he didn't want Kaladin to take it.
-
True but not all things that exist in the cognitive exist in the physical. Great magic unleashed maybe it was a Fabrial bomb.

Storm-light might not be the only source of energy
Arook replied to Arook's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Is this a gut feeling or do you have some reason to think that? I am very intreasted to hear your reasoning -
I wonder if an Elantrian could power their AonDor just by having infused spheres around them.
