(crypitc spoilers) Making up Death Rattles.
18th Shard replied to Edgedancer's topic in Stormlight Archive
"You can not stop a storm from blowing by blowing even harder! Almighty! Why have you cursed us so?" -Subject was a lighteyed surgeon of some renown. Recorded 3 seconds post death. Interesting, Moelach can use the dead as his tongue. "Destroyer of evil and faller from winds, the truth beckons and Death shies away; Justice robs Mercy and yet the Desolation comes! The light bearers are cut off and the darkness of storms descends!" -

What if to Surgebind, Listeners have to use the Nightlight (voidlight I believe comes from Cultivation) in order to Surgebind. They could Surgebind, they just don't have the ability to power it. And vice versa (humans changing forms with nightlight-this will be the new official name, I command you-in the Nightwatcher sphere's like Gavilar's). I really want humans to be able to do what Parshendi do.

Darn, missed sign up. Here is what I was going to post. Flashback: TalNaat looked at Mabi, Clan, and Wark's accusations in silence. Xaneth had known he would be killed, and wanted to make sure he could make it to his hideout in the nearby buildings without suspicion before leaving. He'd even given TalNaat his metalminds, as part of his charade. TalNaat felt his body pierced in several places, and let the blood he'd created earlier that die flow free. He fell, limply landing on the stones beneath. He had quite a lot of skill at imitating dead bodies. That was why Xaneth had contacted him. TalNaat had some very small spikes, ones that he hid in the center of his femur. Even after he had been coated in molten aluminum, he remained, waiting for his employer's arrival. TalNaat had left a single long nerve connected to an ear in the world above. He heard the clink of metal beads near it. Atium, for the cache, thought TalNaat. "Here is your payment," came a voice from above. "Your contract is complete." Xaneth walked from Blackwood Cemetary, past Forage and Dyring's graves, toward a new city. TalNaat had done his job well. No one suspected his escape. In a way, this was true freedom. Gamma and Vizzini had done well with the information and plots he had supplied them with before his 'demise'. Another town ridded of Spiked. That was good, because the Canton of Inquisition had grown bolder lately. All of Xaneth's friends and family were dead, had been killed so the Inquisitors could have Feruchemical Gold abilities. By the Survivor, he would not let more innocents die. The Worldbringers needed to find allies. The world would need their knowledge in the days to come. Xaneth looked down at his new arm bands. Duralumin was his specialty, but he would need more than just Connections to stop the Steel Ministry. His arms glinted with iron, steel, tin, pewter, gold, and more. Xaneth looked at the graves of his allies. No more, he thought, no more deaths because I can't find the Spiked. No more lost to Ruin or Pahn Kahl. Yes, I am a world hopper. I am only observing. But my services as a storyteller are hirable.

I would never call Amaram an imbecile, because then I would have to explain what that is, and I doubt any of us have the requisite time.

What if the Ancient of Stones is Rayse, holding back Odium? The letter reply says rayse deliberately took up Odium.

I have told Gamut my occupation and told him to have his Seeker seek me. And I voted for Mabi purely as a emotional response to Clan's reasoning. I am not Spiked (it's not a very big Spike, not enough for Ruin to...you know control me)- 739 replies

The Heralds could also have a ton of investiture already innately within them. Yes they consume stormlight a whole lot faster. That doesn't matter because the Heralds are like Splinters.

Xaneth looked around, deciding who to kill. Mabi, he said. I agree with Clancy. Spiked are likely to be active at the beginning of the game. I also agree that Meta is likely unspiked, just an evil person. Venture Straff wasn't influenced by Ruin, but he was still evil.- 739 replies

I will vote for no one until further information. Lynching people is what kills us, not the spiked. If we lynch just anyone, we will be doing their work. To Meta: "Forming conclusions without any information is useless - Sherlock Holmes, paraphrased."- 739 replies

Ooh, Bartbug name your in the Lurcher's Inn. I'm sure dyring will like that. I was also thinking that there is a nice little parallel between "Good night, Don't let the Bed bugs Bite" and "Good Night, Don't Let the Bartbug Spike"- 739 replies

Nobles....so suspicious. He had seen Vizzini entering that empty building, the one that used to be a thieving hide-out...at least before Xaneth had exposed them. Vizzini's new headquarters? Several big men, the ones who were the dregs of society because of their own incompetence, had entered, then left later, pushing aside that large cask to open the door.- 739 replies

18th Shard replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Xaneth walked slowly to the square, not drawing attention. He knew what this meeting was about and he was afraid of the severity that calling a meeting would mean. After telling Cyrus of Asp's thieving, he strode into the square and stood at the one spot you could see the whole square from.- 739 replies

Well, even though he might be lying about godmetals, I believe I still need a good Walking Stick. It may come in handy if it had, say, a knife inside that could be ejected. I get it from you or if not, I can get the tinkerer to build one. I have the schematics.- 739 replies
