I like the theory. Actually, recent infromation says that Syl defied the leadership in even coming to the physical realm to bond Kaladin. She has been here (in the Physical World) only a little while. She defied the Stormfather

That was before the Recreance. Now.... Reread the Lift interlude with Nalan, the Herald, as Darkness. That's a common theory. Also see Ym's interlude.

The 'Conflict' between Honorspren and Cryptics
18th Shard replied to Macen's topic in Stormlight Archive
I noticed this too. So is Cultivation in charge of the Cryptics, as the Mother from the Lift interlude, and the Stormfather... um... well... whoever he is, in charge of the honorspren. Hmmm, and Odium is in charge of the stormspren...the desolationspren that makes storm form for the parshendi. Uh-oh...- 51 replies

So when someone said Darth Kaladin, I had this weird image of Kaladin going crazy after fighting Amaram and Hoid going, "Oh, there's another one that we lost to the dark side. I had hoped he would turn out better than that Anakin kid."

Most useless: Elantrian during Reod.

Just as a FYI, the first couple of chapters are elsewhere in the WOR subforum. This includes Jasnah's and Dalinar's from above. Edit: and Kaladin's. Can't forget Kaladin.

If Awakening requires you to impose your will over an objects natural tendency, a weak-willed Awakener could have a rope refuse his command and decide to strangle him or something.

I believe Syl is a bindspren, which is a subset of honorspren, IIRC.
-
But between desolations they go to a living hell. They don't get to enjoy the benefits of immortality.

Allomantic aluminum/Feruchemical electrum. You can be really determined... and that's it.
-
Actually natural forces (like gravity) were represented by spren from cultivation, and ideals or emotions (like honor) are of Honr
-
Perhaps Cryptics are the princes of the cultivationspren kingdoms or groups.
-
So thanks to the Words of Radiance chapter releases, we know spren that exhibit emotions are honorspren, spren that follow natural patterns or phenomena are cultivationspren, and then there are voidspren. I suggest the three magic systems involve bonding the three kinds of spren with a nahel bond. prhaps there are alos three spren kingdoms.

AonDor works worse farther away from Elantris and then evn worse away from Arelon. However, Elantris is a giant Aon Rao. That's whhy magic is so powerful.

So, if the Parshendi use one of the three magic systems as mentioned in the Ars Arcanum, they are using Surgebinding, Voidbinding or a "more esoteric" system. Surgebinding: No. Reread the book if you have questions. Voidbinding: Humans can apparently do it since it is considered evil from the Hierocracy as well. Parshendi are not humans. This leaves the third system. Cultivations, as Surgebinding is probably Honor's and Voidbinding is probably Odium's. So if this is so... maybe Sprenbinding is Cultivation's system.

Words of Radiance in the New Year (Resolutions and Wishes)
18th Shard replied to The Rooster's topic in Stormlight Archive
Resolution: to pay more attention to pictures. I didn't until I read theories based solely off the charts. -
Man I really hope that "The Stormlight Archive" gain space in the popculture (like Game of Thrones) so we could gain some movies, series, games, animation, etc about this serie. That would be awesome =) If one little picture maked my day imagine when they annouce that After the hobbit Peter Jackson will do a 3 part film of the way of kings, or some major animation company will do a serie =0 Hahahahahaha =) 3 part... Compare Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit (6 Movies) to just Way of Kings. More like a very long series of movies... for one book.

"Gavilar's" death happened in Kholinar. Tearim could be guarding the queen or someone back in Alethkar. Elhokar is at the Shattered Plains in WOK.

Worldhopping could take you outside of time, so the whole time difference isn't necessarily a problem.

Has anyone considered that the saving and destroying are not two things? If this is from the point of view of spren, perhaps by saving the world they destroy the spren?
-
About the Parshendi being the Voidbringers, maybe Odium learned from Ruin. He changed some texts just a little...

I would like to say we are all assuming the consumer of the lerasium knows as much as we do. What if they know how to manipulate lerasium to rewrite his spiritweb in a different way than the default setting.

What would happen if you duralumin powered aluminum? Hm.... Those of you who are better at spontaneous theorizing than I, theorize away.

I always thought the Curse of Kind referred to his being Aimian in general, not anything special, but that by being Aimian, people mistrusted and feared him.
