  1. Or even just a fabrialspear that can block a shardblade, honestly.
  2. Friction would work, acting like a coat of oil, I think. If friction is the loss of energy when two particles meet, reducing friction would effectively reduce drag, as pressure wouldn't be able to disperse itself as heat.
  3. Do remember his whole scheme with the cut strap in tWoK.
  4. We just don't know anything, whatsoever, at all, about truthless except that one variety of them can use the Windrunner powerset, they don't need spren, and they can't hold Stormlight as well as KR. This is possible, though.
  5. The threat seemed pretty local; a spren could be assigned to scout duty and be sweeping the area. Given that the place she was going to was in earshot (screams alerted her), it's not a stretch even to assume she has her spren listening for sounds of distress while she fights.
  6. If I was a knight with a magic sword, I would name it. It might even become known by that name. The guy that grabbed it after I left it on the field would probably keep the name, so he could tell his grandbabbies that he owned Oathbringer.
  7. Shen is definitely tricky. I wonder if he'll be able to develop a sense of individuality without a song or a spren (by learning from humans, who do just fine without either.)
  8. Possibly, the "I'll hear you" referred to her getting her spren to listen in on Dal and report what he hears.
  9. I think that the whole thing about the songs is that distance is more or less irrelevant with them. Sort of like having a radio in your head.
  10. I believe it's actually Oathbringer, as if that matters. Knowing Brandon, it probably will.
  11. Mhmm. The hooks are gonna go in nasty and come out bloody, in my opinion. Someone gonna die, and it ain't gonna be pretty.
  12. Relying on your brilliance is a little misguided when it fluctuates daily.
  13. Your spouse would have some REALLY weird in-laws.
  14. Haha, nice. I wonder if Syl's shape is that of a KR she bonded to in the past?
  15. I bet that the KR had some kind of Zen training to speed up their heartbeat for ten beats.
  16. I vote that the Thrill be referred to as the murderous warm fuzzies from now on.
  17. No sweat, you warned all two non-spoiler-craving 17thSharders away well enough - just put spoilery stuff in the right damp corner of our forum in the future. Also, a belated welcome to the community!
  18. As has been stated: Stone = Hard, unyielding, heavy, strong. May also refer to some ability of theirs, to do with using stone as a shield. If they warded stone, they could have guarded an important stone, or, conversly, warded against stone by being the most effective Thunderclast killers/distractors.
  19. Ccstat, this post really belongs in the Words of Radience subforum. If you have a moment, please move it. Thanks.
  20. Kurk, he's obsessing over the warm fuzzies killing in battle gives him, warm fuzzies that shiver from the profane form of the god of hatred. He's pretty damnation evil already; but somehow I think the whole 'killing makes you happy' thing doesn't help.
  21. I wonder if sentient spren keep non-sentient spren as pets? Because I can see a whole Pokemon style thing happening if they do.
  22. I wonder if this could be another way to get around feruchemy's end-neutralness. You can store an attribute, then give it to another, who can then benefit from the boost at a fixed rate. I wonder which metals do this hemalurgically?
  23. Besides, he's pretty obviously touched by Odium. The way he reveres the Thrill is unsettling, to say the least.
  24. Yet she still takes the shape and behaviour of a windspren - how do we know that all windspren aren't unattached honorspren, or that at least some of them are.
  25. In each of Brandon's books, there seem to be a barely-sentient servant class that gradually is shown to be as much of a person as anyone else. The lifeless and Human spring to mind, as well as the Elantrians to a certain extent.
