  1. In each of Brandon's books, there seem to be a barely-sentient servant class that gradually is shown to be as much of a person as anyone else. The lifeless and Human spring to mind, as well as the Elantrians to a certain extent.
  2. I want Hoid to do some awesome I was just an illusion thing - he's sliced with a Shardblade, and his image crumbles to dust and appears somewhere else.
  3. Pwfah! Those Edgedancers, skating about! Real men get into cage bouts with gigantic animated hunks of rock, no prissy jumping about and ignoring gravity or messing about with illusions!
  4. I know. I just like Hoid.
  5. Hemalurgy is much more interesting in my opinion. Most likely, its the only way a Feruchemical nicrosil ferring could store interesting energies. Like the Dor, for instance. Think on that.
  6. You mean those songs they can all tune in to no matter the physical distance? And they use to coordinate in battle? Something like that maybe?
  7. Sure, why not? I think I prefer the idea that Blades are solidified spren or something, but whatever.
  8. Kaladin, why are you stuffing a gem up your nostril? I don't want it to blow away. Kaladin, we're safe. The highstorm's about to hit OUTSIDE. I know. I don't want to lose my gem when I go outside. What?!? Teft said it was part of an "experiment". Apparently I'm supposed to suck in air for as long as I can during a high storm. You're a storm-damned idiot sometimes, Kal. I promised him!(and Syl won't let me back out!) *sigh*
  9. It was Hoid. Whenever something mysterious happens that holds many levels of meaning, it. Was. Hoid.
  10. Cryptic - not dishonest, but thriving in complexity.Honorspren - not simplistic, but thriving in integrity. I would say that complexity vs integrity sounds about right. They both disdain the others as foolish. The cryptics call the honorspren's honour and integrity naive, while the honorspren call the cryptic's complexity and subtlety disingenuous.
  11. So the liespren are attracted to storytellers who enjoy creating needlessly complex stories and imaginary worlds? I think Brandon should start looking for weird patterns on his monitor.
  12. They are attracted to liars - and they force them to voice the truth. They change you for the better, in fact. One might almost say they CULTIVATE honesty.
  13. The surge probably replaces the displaced telomeres somehow.
  14. I bet there's a Form that lets Parshendi do that...
  15. I wonder what happened to the crowds of Cryptics and strange shadow-wielders from before?
  16. Unless we literally mean Spiritual growth; growth of sDNA
  17. This would fit in well with their role as leaders and protectors, though someone's going to have to explain the Realmatics to me.
  18. Or they're interchangable.
  19. Or they're interchangable.
  20. I doubt that 62 days represents the beginning of the Everstorm unless the Ever storm itself takes a while to build itself up. 62 may just be the countdown to the start of a countdown to destruction.
  21. The law of supply and demand means that a truth from a liar is a lot more powerful, right? So liespren take power from truth given reluctantly, and surrounded with lies.
  22. Anyone with a mental illness with Feruchemical electrum could even regulate it to an extent - for example, by storing REALLY HARD when the voices start telling you to kill people.
  23. But WoK has enough to lay a foundation, and it's supposed to be a little overwhelming - but not so much it's apparently not-quite-hooks don't sink in.
  24. I guess you could wear a lot of makeup then.
  25. Unless the physical presence of the spren grows as the bond strengthens, allowing them to get up to more shenanigans as the KR grows in strength?
