  1. You would think smart people like us could come up with a "ghost" role or something for the first casualty. Maybe something like that should be added in the future. Aralis was upset. First there were rumors about a mythical army of inhuman beasts called Kolos or some such nonsense, and now somebody set the barracks on fire. Clearly someone was going to a lot of effort to get someone to believe their lies. Most likely, if anyone was spiked, it would be the people that were making the most fuss about somebody's carelessness with a cooking fire. "Why do we have to have our meetings in a dirty tavern of all places? There is a perfectly respectable town hall across the road that doesn't have alcohol, or this pizza stuff, or any other distractions. The sooner we find out who is spreading these lies the sooner I can gather a mob together and go chase that Rent fellow out of our home."
  2. Aralis was beyond fed up with Rent. With everyone in an uproar over the supposed army that was coming, an extra fool extorting people of the twon was beyond tolerable. "Hey there, Rent! Why don't you go mark up a zone over by those Koloss that are supposed to be coming. Maybe a mythical army will pay you since none of us has either the time or money to bother with your foolishness. In fact, there is a real law that states anyone that annoys a skaa elder must pay a fee of 1 boxing to the council plus an additional 2 for every witness to the scene. If you don't stop this nonsense then I'll see how large of a mob I can gather together."
  3. Aralis is the resident town grump, quite past his prime, and he doesn't really believe that Koloss are coming. Anyone that is fooled by that nonsense must be a spiked.
  4. I consider myself middle-aged. Isana stared out across the field. She was not a fast runner, and didn't really know any of the other tributes. Hopefully her anonymity would keep her alive at least until the group had been thinned out a bit. Those cows seemed like a decent objective. She could hide among them if any Game-maker creations came near and could survive off of the milk in the absence of better food.
  5. I guess I'll join you Mill. Isana from district 7 is signing up because the Hunger Games are more exciting than her life at home.
  6. Codex Alera, I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this, but I really like Antillar Maximus and Steak & New Boots. Riyria, Hadrian is is great guy, Royce is also pretty cool. Fitz Books, I liked how Chade developed between the first and second trilogies. Sanderson Books - Ham, Syl and Hoid as the Wit
  7. What exactly is your plan? I am fine with getting shardbladed this cycle since I would still have one last shot at using my guardsman power (I think). I am really considering claiming the spy role just to get a ketek written in my honor. At this point, I see no reason for the spy to not accept Ren's offer, so for that reason I am a little suspicious of him. I guess I'd like to hear from Torwel as well since that is the main person Ren has voted for the last couple cycles.
  8. @Kas: I didn't send in any orders at all during cycles 1 and 2 because I didn't want to waste my power saving a spy, which I thought was a risk large enough to try and avoid. If you want, I'll send in my order to protect Alv, but I'm not too sure how that is going to help, since the spies wouldn't target that person if they knew that's who I was blocking. My suggestion is that you guys give me the freedom to pick one in the group of Alv, Luckat and Newan, but right now my power is set on Alv. If the shardbearers don't die, then it is pretty much impossible for us to lose this game. Just between the people that have been confirmed good, we have enough votes to tie the lynch with the spies. I suspect then that I won't be a target tonight, unless the spies want to ensure that their next kill attempt goes through. I'll come back on in an hour or so and see if you guys are cool with me taking a little more freedom in who I protect.
  9. My role is the fourth guardsman, and I have not used my power successfully yet. The only time my order actually got through was last cycle, and I protected Luckat, since people were suspecting that she would be targeted by the spies. I have not received any PMs from anybody. The thing about misconceptions is more or less just me being careless; if you look back at previous games I've played I made similar mistakes. Regardless of all that, I didn't use my role early on because I didn't want to accidentally protect a spy. I also figured that I would have a lesser chance of being sabotaged if I stayed in the background for a while.
  10. Well, Jasnah already has 2 votes, so maybe she will come on and say something at least. What I picked up the most on was that last cycle Kaddar pointed out three people he was suspicious of for the same reason; posting vague rather than concrete suggestions. these people were Odysa, Aonar and Ren. Of these, Odysa has received a bit of attention, and I saw that she and Newan were at each other a little bit. Now that Newan is comfirmed to be clean, I'm going to vote for Odysa since Newan's arguments weren't biased towards killing innocents.
  11. I was more trying to say that acting erratic could be an attempt to fake being the Wit to avoid being lynched. The is my first game with a suicidal role, so I'm not fully up to speed on how people have dealt with that in the past. My mistake was that I just now realized that the Wit has to be a lighteyes. (Although, we don't have confirmation that there is only one heterochronic, do we?) Also, while the battle could become an issue if we lose 3 people, and I agree that the numbers are as good as they look, we are also going to get another shardblade and hopefully have a highstorm that gives us back to back lynches without a kill in between.
  12. @Maili: The main reason for my silence this game has been IRL stuff. Otherwise, I would be posting a bit more frequently. Also, I'm pretty sure that I mentioned in my last post that blocking me would be useless, and although that was due to a misunderstanding of the rules, it still applies. There are enough spies left that even a lucky block on one would not stop a kill during a skirmish. Also, this game doesn't really have as much of a numbers element to it, which is usually where I post the most. I am drawing a bit of a line between Kaddar and Odysa, since both of them seem to be acting a little off, which seems to imply that one of the two is the Wit. Most likely the Wit is somebody who has been active, and both of them have. However, the only thing that matters for is that if we lynch them then we don't want the person that votes first to have any role. I'm going to vote for Jasnah, since I think that we are at a pretty comfortable spot right now in terms of team numbers and we can afford to lynch an inactive to see if they are trying to hide their evilness through silence.
  13. Ah, that makes a bit more sense, both about Macen and the building up thing. (Although, since both the lynch and the shardblade kill are pretty much unstoppable, it shouldn't matter which one gets used for what except that we can all pitch in a bit more on the vote.
  14. Alinel Latrinus reporting for duty! I have been overwhelmed with things IRL lately, and there is so much people have been saying that I have barely been able to skim everything (4 pages today already before I got on). I do leave this website open as a tab on my computer, so I may appear to be on more than I am, but that's not too important although I myself pointed out that I was slipping under the radar a cycle or two ago. I was kind of hoping that more people would mention it a bit more so that I would have something to respond to each day, but whatever. I am going to vote for Macen, since it seems to me that unless somebody comes forth with a reason for protecting him, then there is a team of spies that just happened to have a guardsman. Also, can somebody explain the Odysa situation to me? I don't quite follow the arguments people were using or whether or not we should still suspect her. Also, Wilson, there was a 0% chance that blocking me would stop the kill, since there are already (most likely) some sabotage commands that have built up that will be counted. While I don't fault you for using your role, I also don't think the fact that you used it on me indicates that you actually suspect me very much.
  15. I suspect that the Panda is actually a lightweaver and that Jain is just a really convincing fake. You know, it would be really convenient if each person could put something at the bottom of their post like: argument for X and against Y so it would be a little easier to see what people are actually trying to say. Right now it seems that some people are suspicious of Wilson, and some people are suspicious of Odysa. Then there are those of us that are flying under the radar, like me (I hope at least one other person feels a little overwhelmed by all of the discussion that is going on right now). I'm not sure who to suspect, since the only confirmed eliminator that we have is Jain, and the only back and forth conversation he has had was with me. Also, there is only one other person in this game who knew that Jain was bad in the first place. I don't feel confident enough in myself to act right now, but for the next 3 days or so we still won't have any information from eliminator kills. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a better idea of who I think is tricksy.
  16. I feel kinda weird typing everything in black, but I thought that blue text was for out of game conversations and black was for everything else. Anyway, one problem that we had a little of is that it is going to be hard to find the eliminators based solely on the nighttime lynches, since there could be up to 3 different teams working toward different goals. Now, it is possible that the spies have been able to communicate between themselves through powers and then through codes, which could hurt us a bit, but it would also mean that they could end up working toward a common goal that we could sniff out. With a battle coming up, we are going to learn a bit of info but also lose several players unless the guardsmen get lucky. That's just some of what I've been thinking about. I don't really have any suspicions except that I still don't like Jain's reasoning, so I'll leave my vote there where it has a little meaning.
  17. I'm going to vote for Jain since nobody else has placed a vote yet and because you implied that the eliminator teams would either need to be new or trolling to take Ash down. However, Ash didn't make any claims that would connect her death to somebody else. Pretty much everyone that proposed a plan or something had a back and forth discussion that would at least give us a start for who to lynch next. Ash, on the other hand, was a fairly safe choice since we really don't have much to work with directly because of her death.
  18. Hey, I saw your posts Meta and agree that is a good plan. We might need to be careful if the lighteyes start dying off though, since the vote could be more easily manipulated by a couple spies.
  19. I'm here. and posting. The skirmish means that there will be an eliminator kill today. Alinel was walking walking back to camp when he felt a shifting in the bridge under his feet. While the bridge quickly steadied, Alinel's heart began thumping harder. "Meller! A spy for another warcamp would also be a slacker in the making of bridges. Come fix this or I'll report you!" Edit: Greened Vote
  20. Alinel Lenia is signing up, he is an exile from the Horneater peaks that chose to fight as the second son.
  21. Well, you know what they say; Great minds think alike! Actually though, you are kind of taking what I said out of context. I was looking at all of the possibilities that I could think of occurring in the game. That I didn't miss something that Meta thought of also just shows that my list did a halfway decent job. One thing I didn't think of when making that list however is that we learn when Hoid uses the conversion power, which makes it less helpful for him to save a use of that power, and is presumably why he used them all up already.
  22. @Maill: I'm not quite sure what you are saying, Maill, and I don't have too much time too deal with it tonight, but the only communication that I received from Meta was that Newan had been scanned and revealed as converted. If you are implying that I am the LB then you are wrong, but if you look at past games then you will find that I tend to make lists when I can rule out human action and break everything down to numbers. Last cycle I had a good opportunity to do that and I was also a bit confused over Luckat's death, first since I thought you did it on purpose and then second because I don't think she actually should have died. That was mostly why I never voted for Newan. He was already wrapped up and I thought I had found something else that turned into a dead end. I'm not too sure who to vote for but I will try to get back on one more time tonight and actually place a vote since I haven't done a great job of that this game.
  23. Yes! Thank you a lot for running this game; that was the most tense last couple of cycles we really could have had.
