  1. @Elbereth While I agree with you in general, there might be a place for the CC during future meetings. Since there will likely be a disparity between the numbers of the two threads, one of them cannot effectively pressure a lynch, and thus cannot get super useful information. I haven't voted this cycle because there isn't really much point in it, unless I want to get involved in the Court. However, if my thread (or whichever has fewer people) went for a CC bandwagon, it would pressure more people from the Court thread to vote, similar to the lynch on Joe during LG35.
  2. You missed @cloudjumper, Stick. He's inactive as well. I guess I have to agree with your village reads except Megasif, since you, Doc and Eternum have all been soft-cleared in my mind. Maybe we should pass the Medium role onto Stick while Doc is gone? I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make though, since the Medium has a "neutral" win con that shouldn't affect us too much. The only thing we probably need to watch out for is an elim protector, which I doubt we have right now.
  3. Mediums (and Small Large), is there a way that we can further your win condition while also bringing the Forest closer to victory? Or does that not really work?
  4. @Flash I never said I thought you were an eliminator (more than anyone else, that is). If I did, why vote you for Medium? But your claim about picking Stick as protector is Not Alignment Indicative, since if you are an elim it's an easy lie to make.
  5. I guess the problem with your reasoning Flash is that you are the only one we have to trust that Stick was your intended protector. You could very well be saying that to "prove" that you must be village.
  6. I don't take any offense. It's an art that I seem to have mastered without really trying to. I guess my opinion behind all this is that Doc and PK are not both eliminators. Their interactions so far don't make sense in terms of staying hidden. I think what I have against PK is probably just a playstyle difference, since while I disagree with his actions and posts, they don't make tons of sense for an eliminator. PK's first vote for Doc to be Medium, with the explanation given in that post, doesn't make sense to me from a village perspective, especially given that we don't know what approach any player is going to take to a game before they post at all. This doesn't really make sense, in light of how games usually play out. D1 lynches aren't random. They aren't as informed as later lynches, but we have 48 hours of player interactions to try and hit an eliminator. And we have D1 lynches most of the time, so not participating gives the eliminators (from a village perspective) more influence over events. Also, everyone can and should be voting in both arenas. I don't know, if everyone dies in the game but me, then I win. So killing people gets me closer to winning. Voting some random person medium doesn't help me win at all. That's how I see the two sets of votes. But this might just be a difference of opinion. As far as Doc for Medium, I still prefer Flash, which is where my vote is now. Straw is still a good vote for me because he doesn't seem to be trying to solve the game. Also, I'm a bit suspicious of Stick's lack of commitment to his vote on me, but his plan to confirm the Medium alignment seems way too village to me, so I'll lean village on him.
  7. My bad. I thought for sure the Medium had a survival win con.
  8. Well, yeah, but the non word for word bit is already in the rules; survival. For this to be a useful strategy I think you would have to copy-paste.
  9. @_Stick_ Your plan to have the Medium reveal their new win con is against the General Rules, since it would require copying text from a GM PM. Edit: Straw, being unhelpful is suspicious, since villagers want to help their team win.
  10. It's not voting early that is suspicious, necessarily. It's having a specific person picked out early in the game that you want to give powers to. Since PK had already done something that I found suspicious, I think my vote on him is perfectly justified. @Straw As far as we know, there isn't too much reason to kill the Medium, since they are neutral. So there is not too much benefit in Ysengrin using his protect on them. PK, thanks for giving some justification behind your Medium vote. I don't really recall Doc's behavior from games I've played with him. I will say that Flash was very active last game, and I trust him to be the same as a Medium. Based just on what he has posted this cycle, Doc doesn't seem like too bad a choice either. I honestly don't mind killing somebody that is likely a villager this cycle. That's half the fun in these games, isn't it? Killing innocent folks with no (or at least few) repercussions. Straw. Your posts haven't really been helpful so far. Araris glided among the shadows of the trees. Unfortunately, these shadows weren't useful for much except hiding. Perhaps you could club someone over the head with them, but there was no elegance in that. He had examined the darkness behind blades of grass first. Some of these shadows were long enough to serve as a weapon, and they certainly pierced the light effectively. However, they were too flimsy, moved about by the slighted gust of wind. Soon Araris came upon a boulder that cast a great round shadow at its feet. He felt its edges, and then sat back to watch the darkness. The shadow was sturdy, full of the essence of the rock that cast it. The shape was wrong, though, and it seemed each of the rocks in the forest held a similar form. They had been left to the wind and the rain for aeons, and no sharp edges remained among them. So, Araris continued his search.
  11. From his position on the side of a tree, Araris frowned at Lord Coyote's words. How would humans hide in the forest? Surely Ysengrin would have sniffed them out easily. No matter. Any trespassers would likely be sticking to the shadows, and Araris knew the shadows like the back of his hand. Well, it was hard to see the back of his hand, since it was always pressed against something, but surely it looked the same as the front. While most people thought of shade as, well, flat, here in the Forest, darkness was not confined to the dirt and trees. The air itself was full of the essence of shadows, and things that weren't started to be, in the corners of your eyes. This was his home, though, and he was safe among the shadows. Soon, the same would not be true for outsiders. Araris set out in search of just the right shadow. After all, if the Forest had intruders, he would need a sword. @A Joe in the Bush What happens if the Medium dies? Does the Protector just lose the game, since they have failed their win con? I'm going to hold off on voting for the Medium for now. I'll consider from the people that seem to want the role that are also contributing to the discussion. For that matter, I'm going to start with a vote on PK. There is a lot of power that can change hands between the Medium and the Protector. I don't like that you are willing to support a specific person this early in the first cycle.
  12. Fitz, in Robin Hobb's books, beginning with the Assassin's trilogy. He just seems like a very real character to me, with a lot of really well developed relationships through the 9 books he is in. Araris from Codex Alera is pretty cool. He isn't given that much screen time, but he does have an interesting backstory and character development. He's really friendly and a master duelist. Gandalf and Samwise from LoTR. Gandalf's magic is cool, but I like how he relates with all the hobbits, and the advice he gives while questing. Sam is just an awesome friend. Logen Ninefingers from the First Law Trilogy, mostly in book 2. I like the effort he goes into bringing his group together despite them disliking him.
  13. Sure. I'll sign up. I'm not sure what is up in this world, so I'll just be myself; Araris Valerian, the Knight Ferrous. I vote for Joe! Joe in a Forest sounds way better than Joe in a Court, and it's closer to your username anyways.
  14. Well, I'm having a hard time keeping up with LG 36 right now, and I really don't want to sign up for a game that I will be inactive in. So, I'll sign up if I manage to bring my activity level in LG 36 up a bit.
  15. @Orlok Tsubodai It's my bad that you don't recall anything about me, not yours. I've been struggling with a lot of RL stuff, so keeping up with this game has been hard for me. I have been sending in actions regularly, and I haven't given up on myself. Also, I'm curious why you think Cloud asking for people to reveal essence marks is an elim move. That sort of post doesn't seem super helpful to them. Yeah, the information from people revealing could be helpful, but I doubt an elim team would use a ploy like that to try and get information. It puts one of their members out in the open too much.
  16. I'm actually rather sad that Aman was a Scavenger. Killing him took a lot of the discussion out of the game, but he is dangerous enough without being a confirmed villager. @The Flash thank you for the effort you put into keeping that going, by the way. I think you made this game more fun for everyone involved.
  17. Well, now you know that Wilson is a Troll. If that is an option, always choose it, unless it means that she's breaking a deal with you.
  18. Good game everybody. Thanks Haelbarde for running things. Also, @little wilson thank you a lot for spicing up the last cycle. That was way more fun than it otherwise would have been.
  19. Yes! I'm evil. Now I can thwack people with impunity! While I'm here, I'll toss my vote on Yitzi. I would like to point out that I have already made a statement that should be pretty alignment indicative, depending on how you judge it. If I was lying about misunderstanding the format of the game, then I'm an elim. If not, then I'm village. Mostly because elims get docs, and thus would know how the game works. I'll try and come up with at least one other suspicion before the end of the cycle. But I'm feeling kinda blegh, so I'll have to see.
  20. I doubt even that "doctor" is a wording that would come up in an SE game. Surgeon, maybe, from Stormlight, or Lurcher, from Mistborn, but the word doctor doesn't show up in Sanderson's works frequently or even at all to the best of my knowledge.
