  1. I don't know. I'd lynch you, Bugsy, without any discomfort at all. Someone must lead, so that others can follow.
  2. LYnch or LOse. Nobody on here really uses abbreviations, but Randuir just came from the Mafia Championships where everybody talks like that.
  3. @Bugsy I am aware that we are all pirates, but you are the only person that actually called yourself a pirate. Since you chose your name before alignments were assigned, I'm not sure how me mentioning it could be an elim slip. Regardless, Dread Pirate Cummerbund. @randuir There doesn't seem to be too much reason to speculate on elim numbers. the 20% and square root rules both land us solidly around 5 elims. LYLO would happen at Day 9 I think (8 mislynches and 8 elim kills leaving 6 villages and 5 elims). But that isn't reliable, since Miracle Max and Dread Pirate Roberts can speed up/slow that down. Then there are the dagger and rum abilities, which could further influence when LYLO happens. We can probably start worrying around cycle nine or ten if no elims have been killed. Fade spoke to the gathered pirates in a whisper, although there was no subtlety to the volume of his voice. "Don't twust you. Keep secwets to mysewf. Don't twust me eithew. Don't want youw secwets." Another voice suddenly echoed from the heavens, causing all present to cover their ears with the volume. "Pwactice Pwivate Message Safety you foows!" Fade gestured vaguely toward the voice in the sky by means of agreement, and then wandered off.
  4. Araris was slightly taken aback as he saw what passed for a healer around here sticking body parts onto a corpse, that was apparently still alive. I am definitely not on Carna any more. "My name is Awawis Vawewerian and..." Araris frowned. "My name is Awawis Vaw ... Bother." He retreated behind a building and made some minor adjustments to his appearance. Araris came back around the corner and could hardly be recognized as the same person, with matted hair covering most of his face and an ugly brand partly hidden underneath. He had a broad, witless smile on his face, and spoke slowly, slurring his words a bit. "My name is Fade. Me hewp?"
  5. Well, RP-wise I am totally out of my depth, perhaps to my own personal shame. However, Araris Valerian will have nothing to do with any pirates, including Dread Pirate Cummerbund.
  6. I'm kinda surprised again at the reaction to my lie about House Urbain. Hopefully we can all be less trustworthy next time.
  7. Very good game everyone, and a lot of thanks to Straw for running it. I'd also like to see the other docs, primarily to see what was going on in Venture.
  8. Well, that would be telling. But if said people want to shoot themselves in the foot then I can't do much about it. And it might be only 1 person.
  9. I'm pretty sure there are some people voting for me right now when it isn't in their best interest. But I'm not entirely sure who they are.
  10. You know Ripple, after what I went through to inform you that Itiah wanted you dead, I'd think you'd be a little more considerate. I'm almost 100% sure that Dalinar Kholin has the Secretive role (seeing as he hasn't voted in thread at all), which would make him a much better kill target than me.
  11. It's kinda funny how you all want to lynch me for saying something you think is true, after last cycle, in which you wanted to lynch me for lying.
  12. Mostly because there is a bit more to this game than killing people. The dynamics of this game would be different if we were given a list of the members of each House at the start. In the Ball PMs for example, say I want you dead. It would be risky for me to try and get multiple Houses to vote for you through that PM since I don't know if your House is present to reciprocate. But if I knew the House of each player, then it would be easy to find a PM where a House is absent and use that to work against them. Claiming House Urbain meant that nobody would know who I was working with, regardless of which Houses were revealed right away. If I didn't claim anything, then people would have suspected me of working with people that I wasn't. And it wasn't supposed to be a public claim. It was more of a way to start a conversation with someone, and the lie was a precaution in case the information was leaked.
  13. @Mark IV What do you mean by suspicions of me? Really the only reason to kill somebody specific in this game is for their role, and it's been demonstrated that either you guys have no idea what my role is, or that my role is now defunct. I suppose I'm the only person that thought of lying about my House, which is why I got voted on in the first place, but that seemed like common sense and I'm surprised that nobody else did it. It also seems like Itiah has a PM ability. Removing PMs deprives that House of the ability to do diplomacy, which means that large vote blocks like the one that killed Arinian are less likely to happen. Seems a lot more threatening than a possible injured Thug.
  14. Bort, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I don't think I've ever tried to subvert the win conditions of an SE game. I think you may be referring to the Urbain Revolution in MR6, but I was dead pretty really on in that game and nobody was (at least in thread or the dead doc) upset about what Gamma, who is the SE semi-official head of House Urbain, did. Also, as has been noted, while I may be responsible for some deaths this game, what I've done is equivalent to sending in a kill order (one that isn't guaranteed to hit, albeit). That's different from threatening a player. If I want somebody dead, hopefully they won't know about it until their name shows up in the writeup. As for my personal playstyle, I have definitely seen too many GMs frustrated with their games getting broken to want to try and subvert win conditions. There was a "faction" game recently where each House could only have a single victor, unless you ate them with a Kandra. D1 somebody proposed that we sit around and farm enough atium so that everyone would win. I adamantly opposed that, because it was a clear subversion of the game the GM intended (and because it would be really boring).
  15. That was Night 3, which was last Night cycle, so yesterday.
  16. It was Arinian, in my House Doc. There was no timestamp.
  17. I'm not sure what there is to distract from. I was practicing PM safety, something that seems to have fallen out of favor in the current meta. Paraphrasing a message I received: "Itiah threatened me with a vote from 2 houses unless I reveal the name of my House, my social role, and my allomantic role. If I do, then Ripplegylf will be killed instead." So @RippleGylf, you and your House should probably back killing Itiah. That doesn't sound like a very fun situation for anyone to be in. I'd rather be lied to, which is expected in SE and especially in a faction game, than to be threatened like that.
  18. Your point actually doesn't stand, because the extra life from pewter goes away. So if I was a thug, I no longer have a useful allomantic ability. I still understand that you might want me dead, but I think your reasoning beyond me not being in your faction is very flawed.
  19. Because I spend a lot of time thinking about things and not really getting anywhere. And because I like to say "bother".
  20. I actually have zero idea about how I survived that attack. But I think I have an ally to thank for it? Lurchers/Mistborn with Iron cannot protect themselves: So @MacThorstenson, if you want to kill a lurcher/mistborn you should look elsewhere. If you are tired on Winnie the Pooh being in every thread of this game, then leave your vote where it is.
  21. @Cadmium Compounder That's really the only reason to vote for somebody in this game. However, some players have stronger roles than others, and I suspect that there are better targets for you to lynch than me. I know that Itiah has been threatening players in the night with a "coalition", which doesn't sound very fun. Walin has also hinted that he is a seeker/informant. All I've done is talk.
  22. I have no obligations to anyone in this thread to be honest about my House. I think the fact that so many people know of my claim to be in Urbain is a great justification for the claim. Why give other people information about who I'm working with? It just so happened that Elariel was the last House to lose a player, so the ploy didn't accomplish anything. House Urbain is one of the Great Houses of Luthadel, not something I pulled out of this forum, and I definitely had no intention of ruining the game by working toward a separate win condition. It was just a way to conceal information, and I'm seriously surprised that nobody else tried the same thing.
  23. There are at least 6 I guess.
  24. Aman. I agree with Steeldancer.
