  1. Hadrian sealed the last envelope, and then passed the stack to a messenger. His House had moved into Keep Hasting following the departure of Cett, and to show off their new station, and their total confidence in the face of yet another army, House Penrod was throwing a ball. The messenger set off with the pile of invitations. While the Penrods couldn't afford the extravagance that had been present in balls during the days of the Lord Ruler, Hadrian was certain that the nobility would appreciate a diversion. Also, after the Cett fiasco, it was clear that the skaa and the merchants were not a force to be trifled with. To that end, the ball was open to all members of the Assembly and any guests they chose to invite.
  2. @Fifth Scholar I think that is a great summary. Personally, if I'm going to be relatively busy IRL during some or all of a game (which recently has been almost always), the deciding factor for me to join is how complicated the ruleset is. I'll join pretty much any game with "standard" rules, with the basic mafia roles, some flavor, and maybe PMs. A separate google doc with rules was enough to scare me away from the spren LG. The rules could even be really complicated, but hidden, so that I as a player don't have to deal with an information overload at the start of the game. One thought I just had about concerns about signup length and RP: Perhaps GMs could extend signups and encourage players to RP during that time. I know that some players use the signups as a time to introduce their character, but perhaps the GM could take a more direct role in creating one or more settings for this RP to occur. This could take the form of pre-game day/night cycles with writeups or something else. I don't usually do much RP, but when I have, it has greatly enhanced my SE experience, especially when the GM actively used my character in the writeups.
  3. Fura, I bestow upon you the Staff of Aralis. May it be perfect for enforcing sensible discussion.
  4. I think this one looks a little too complicated for me. I guess I'll take a link to the spectator doc.
  5. To be honest, I'm pretty sure that Steel is lying about being immune to the elim kill. He just said that so that the spammers wouldn't target him. If he was telling the truth, then it would be practically an automatic win for us. @Seventh Saint I've been around every cycle enough to send in a kill order, even though I've been low active.
  6. Wow, sure is quiet around here. I guess everyone is already in mourning for me . Here is a list of possible original elims that Adavantos posted (I've struck out the dead ones): @May I suggest The Only Joe xinoehp512 Snipexe alVoidus |257|-| Araris Valerian Kidpen Walin Now, the game was not originally balanced around Walin, so he can't be one of the 5 starting elims we've assumed, although he could still be an elim. I'm not going to say anything more about myself, which leaves Snipexe, Kidpen, and Xino. Furamiriond confirmed that Xino has a redirect role, which I think rules him out as a starting elim. Kidpen has a vote manipulation ability, which should clear him. That means that I'd bet Snipexe is a spammer, if there were 5 to start. If Snip is an Eliminator, then it's possible the convert has used a trusted status to clear their theoretical partner. I'd probably want to start reconsidering the entire player pool if Snip flips village. I'm mildly worried that Snip didn't participate in either of the first two lynches, but he did say that he had a spammer read on Alv the cycle that Alv was lynched, and yet voted on another player. He has been somewhat low active and could account for the night that we missed an elim kill. I'm not sure if other people have thoughts on this.
  7. Well, I would take it very personally if you lynched me after the GM confirmed me as village. Unrelated to my role, and in my defense, I would like to point out that Alvron would still be alive if it weren't for me. I know that isn't much without any analysis from me to go on, but hopefully it is a consideration.
  8. I have an extra life that protects from anything. After that gets used up, only an elim can kill me. The flavor text is that I'm a First Time Player, so everyone will take it easy on me. But the elims would probably never waste a kill on me since doing so would 1) cause my role to be revealed as village and 2) I'm seen as suspicious by the village already. Actually, lynching me this cycle means that the Joe win condition becomes impossible , because I can't be targeted by any villagers following my first death.
  9. My travel is over, so I should be able to become a fair bit more active. I'll plan on looking through the list Aman provided of players that could be the last original spammer, and do some analysis of them. I also will mention that I will not die from a lynch or vig kill due to my role, which is kind of boring and has probably contributed a little to my inactivity.
  10. Thanks . I didn't have great reasoning for Alv, but I didn't have much on anyone. I wouldn't necessarily say I was tunneling, since I was definitely at least looking for other people to place my vote on. Walin is almost certainly not an original elim, although he may have been put in as a convert or something.
  11. @Renalvgade I had intended to give that same reasoning last cycle, but I guess it didn't come though my post. Also, while I agree you may have made such a post regardless of alignment, it was my thought that you may have been more likely to get involved in the first place as an elim.
  12. Sorry for my low activity guys. I just went back through the last day, and was totally ready to vote on Rae, and then I realized that Rae was killed during the night :/. Reading over what Fifth was posted since I voted on him, I've got a stronger village read. I'm going to vote on Alv again. I'm kind of lost in all the roleclaims (which I am usually against), and I still feel like his D1 voting pattern would be an easy way for an elim to hide. I didn't really find much of not in the D2 lynch, although I got confused for a while until I realized that Crimsn and Devotary were the same person. @Seventh Saint You missed Metabardnition in your player list, unless he has been cleared and I missed it.
  13. Adavantos attacking Elandera, who voted on Roadwalker Quote by Fifth Scholar: Emphasis mine I'm also somewhat convinced that Itiah is village, based on his N1 post. Player list (minus banned players and myself)(regular usernames)(bold is elim read, italics are village read/confim): Elandera Drought Xino Fura Bard Devotary Rand Steel Itiah Fifth Cadcom Lumgol Snipexe Alvron Rath Rae Kidpen Mailliw Aman Elephant Walin And now RL is calling, and I'd like to get something substantial up. In a couple of hours or so I'll try to look into the reasons behind today's lynch options.
  14. My vote on Alv D1 is what it is, and I don’t have any more to say on it. But based on both D1 wagons being elim, I feel like elim!Alv would have taken advantage of his normal “God’s of luck and chance” to bus two of his teammates simultaneously without actually changing anything. While Alvron may have done something similar as a villager (using standard terminology btw), I think it is more likely he would have gotten involved that way as an elim. Now again, I’m writing this post based off of very little info, and my lack of contribution is due to my having gone 30 or 40 hours without internet, and then needing to catch up on sleep. I’ll do my best to read everything today and make a more informed post.
  15. I haven’t had much time to catch up, but I did see that both wagons D1 were on elims. This makes me mildly suspicious of Alvron. I’ll work on reading the thread tomorrow and see if there is anyone else I’m suspicious of.
