  1. I challenge you to a duel of unreadability.
  2. Wow, so many people. I guess I'll sign up as well. Lord Hadrian Penrod is joining the party.
  3. I was rather concerned both that Fura had fooled me so easily, and that it was possible to have enough information to make such a guess. Although it turns out the elims actually knew my elevations, so I was really just trying to be too careful (and failing epicly), if there is such a thing in SE.
  4. Good game everyone! Naming was way too fun in this game, even though I probably could have experimented more. I’m rather glad that Hael and Walin turned out to be elims, or this game probably wouldn’t have turned in our favor. I was unsure, so I used a combined seek/kill action with Wind and Iron. I was rather surprised that the elims knew all my elevations, which makes me wish I’d revealed to the thread and asked for counseling. Sorry Rath and Karnage for murdering you (well not really). I figured the less living masters, the better for everyone. Thanks to Wilson and Elbereth for GMing! Despite being more complex than what I usually go for, the rules were organized enough that they didn’t get in the way. Also, the write ups were consistently awesome. If it happens, I’ll look forward to the next iteration of this game.
  5. I'm more in a guilty until proven innocent mindset right now, and Lopen is definitely not proven innocent.
  6. I'm voting for you because I don't know your alignment, and because expelling everyone (and then assassinating all the Masters) would lead to a village win. I'm also not super comfortable revealing my field of study to the thread. I only wanted that last cycle because I thought (and still think) 2-3 of the masters are elims. I'm also kind of suspicious of Lopen, and your village read on him makes me uncomfortable.
  7. Here's the current sane non-expelled player list: El'the Elkanah (Edema Ruh) Burnt Spaghetti (Commoner) Devotary of Spontaneity (Noble) Rathmaskal (Commoner) Master Araris Valerian (Noble) Experience (Commoner) TheMightyLopen (Noble) Karnage (Noble) I'm fairly sure that both Burnt and Devotary are village. I don't know about Elkanah or Rath, but I'll give Rath some slack, since he's been gone for a while, and vote on Elkanah Elkanah. That's where my 5 DP are probably going to go.
  8. Well, I’m glad to finally have a Master that I trust . I’m rather surprised that someone attacked Lopen, given his claim of Arithmetics. Losing 30% of your cash seems like a steep cost for a failed attack. Also, the write up says that Lopen was attacked, but not protected. Given the “attempt to fly,” I’d wager the friendly namer took a shot at him, and as Burnt said, Wind wasn’t enough for a kill on its own.
  9. @TheMightyLopen Any particular reason you went for Arithmetics? That seems like a weak field of study for a noble. I guess I'll put my votes on Fura Fura. I was only reluctant to vote on him because he's roleblocked, but I'm not super convinced about any of the other eligible vote targets. It would be nice if Rath would show up at some point. Otherwise, re-expelling him would be a good way to dump DP.
  10. @Karnage because the village is sort of close to losing the game, we stand to lose less by revealing information. Yeah, Straw got killed for his reveal, but if all 3 masters reveal, I doubt the elims can kill all of them in a turn. Also @Elandera I think the lie detection might be fundamentally different on a village list of reads versus an elim one. The elims know all the alignments, so anytime they give a “read” that is incorrect, it would probably come up as a lie, unless they were careful with their language. I’m not sure anything in a villager read list would trigger a lie, since I might have done if it were possible. I guess I’ll trust Burnt a bit more for now (I’d forgotten about Straw scanning her). edit: on that note, @Burnt Spaghetti, you might consider using Wind to attack whichever Master you suspect the most. That shouldn’t mess with your sanity, and we sort of need to take down probably all the current masters. edit2: We currently have a 30% chance for one of the insane players to break out of the Crockery. We can probably bank on that happening at least once before game end.
  11. Hmm. If there are two elim Masters, that doesn't really give them the ability to expel students reliably without revealing themselves in votes. Three would be pretty bad (in fact, the game might be almost over if there are 3 elim masters). I guess I'd call for each Master to reveal their field of study and what they've been up to. Not sure what everyone else thinks about this I have some reservations about Burnt, so I probably wouldn't mind trying to expel/roleblock her again. I'd like to hear from Rath before I make any judgements about him. I basically agree with all of Elandera's reads.
  12. This post makes me rather suspicious of Karnage. Villagers don't need to "survive the lynch" in this game, only eliminators. Lopen Lopen Karnage Karnage.
  13. I know it’s sort of rude, but I’m going to switch my votes. Burnt Burnt Lopen Lopen. It seems clear that Lopen isn’t going to die on the streets. @Straw are you sure that an elim’s read list would set off your lie detection?
  14. Ah. I saw your list of things people could have lied about, but didn't make the connection to your abilities. Things make a bit more sense now.
  15. @Straw can you point me to where I said I thought an elim would try and become master namer? I don’t recall saying that, and given the built in insanity chance of being a namer, (I think it’s 20% base for the master), I don’t think an elim would go for that unless they could guarantee a physicker to help them out.
  16. @Furamirionind I'd been thinking the same thing, but: 1) Wilson is a troll (this is definitely a good quality for a GM) 2) The nobles I'm suspicious of are inactive
  17. I feel like I'm becoming more and more paranoid as this game goes on. I feel like my only solid village reads are Kynedath and Devotary, based on Hael's votes. I keep feeling like something is off about Fura, despite his high activity level and helpful posts. We don't have anything on Straw (and whenever I suspect him I'm wrong), but I'm mildly suspicious of anyone who becomes a master. I don't think anything he's said this cycle clears him. We need to catch an unconfirmed skindancer for that to really happen. I'd guess that Elandera/Straw is not a team. Also, since Fura is roleblocked right now, I'm not sure its worth expelling him. I'll echo the call for Burnt to reveal her elevations, if the elims already know them. Actually, I think a villager would have revealed right away. I'm going to put my votes here for now. I might move to Lopen if he shows up. Burnt Burnt. I'm suspicious of Lopen and GreenRover for not participating, but I kinda hope they will get killed on the streets. Reads: Straw - not sure, leaning elim Experience - not sure, leaning elim Lopen - elim GreenRover - elim Burnt - leaning elim Elandera - leaning village Fura - not sure, leaning elim Devotary - village Elkanah - leaning village Kynedath - village Karnage - leaning elim Italics are low active/full inactive. Bold are masters, cannot be voted on. Underlined is roleblocked, probably not worth a vote right now. So basically Burnt is the only option I see right now.
  18. @Elandera I wouldn’t say last minute lynches are unhelpful. They can force elims to react without having time to discuss in their doc. The main downside in my opinion is that not everyone is online during the last few hours of the cycle. I agree that Hael’s flip should give us some new places to look. Unfortunately, I think a lot of his reads were neutral (although it’s probably better to look at his interactions/votes, instead of his reads). We have 12 unexpelled players left and (assuming 6 skindancers), 1-4 elims to find. Assuming Bard was an elim, 1-3. Without going back and reading, I’d hazard that anyone Hael voted on in the last 2-3 turns is village, given the high expulsion risk. Analysis and votes to come tomorrow.
  19. I can relate. I get my motivation for analysis from a combination of 2 things: 1) Making a good vote is one of the best things I can do to help my team win 2) The best way to vote well is by doing analysis Bonus) Other people will suspect you less if you are honestly contributing to discussion So I would say don't try and make long posts just because other people are doing that. Do what you need to in order to feel like you are helping your team win. Also, this game is weird, because the lynch has much lower stakes than a normal game. The elims don't necessarily need to defend each other, and we don't get alignment information from an expulsion.
