  1. Oh, don't beat yourself up. We all do that from time to time. Except Kurk. That dude's a machine!
  2. A thought that suddenly struck me: I think I know why Darkness is killing Surgebinders. Let's take a look at that quote again: I don't this he's talking about what we think he's talking about. Well, he is, but what if the same thing also goes for the Soul of Roshar? Consider this quote: Surgebinders might be doing unhealthy stuff to the world just by being around.
  3. We have discussed some of this, but we ended up forgoing a conclusion until we have more information: 1, 2 and 3.
  4. No problem! =)
  5. I was wrong, and I've admitted as much.
  6. You're right to pay attention to his wording though. Brandon does that.
  7. Welcome to the site! And you'll find that there are a lot of people agreeing with you here. WoK and tES are on my first and second place as well. And since you find the SA cast so badass, who's your favourite of them?
  8. Welcome to the 17th Shard! We all want juicy new stuff. I am personally crossing my fingers for Jasnah / Kaladin juiciness!
  9. Just be polite and avoid double-posting (edit your own posts instead). Other than that, just ramble on!
  10. avec = with is correct, but I still have no idea...
  11. WHY DID BELA HAVE TO DIE!!!!!! *tears, man,TEARS*
  12. Wait, what now?
  13. A Chasmfiends shell!
  14. On a good day he might be able to utter a slightly more elaborate "if it pleases you, doth refrain from skewering me with your sword and end my pitiful existence", but as you say, a simple "Don't kill me!" would do the trick.
  15. I am fairly certain he was talking about the Geranid and Ashir chapter. Given that Fabrials are basically trapped Spren, and that the brightness, pattern the light makes and several other attributes are what decides the effect of any given Fabrial, this could have huge implications for future studies and inventions in the artifabrian community.
  16. It is generally assumed that the Stoneward from the Starfalls chapter used an ancient type of fabrial to appear so suddenly.
  17. Welcome to the 17th Shard! And I assure you, we are all prone to delve deeply into all kinds of subjects, so just post your theories, and we will come! . The Way of Kings is in my opinion Brandon's best book up to this moment. His other books are good too, especially the Emperor's Soul which might just be his best written one, and you've got the Mistborn books to look forward to. I'd recommend you to start there. Have fun !
  18. I doubt Shardlet was implying that he could chose. He was simply thinking that it was lucky that Szeth came to him on a "good day".
  19. I personally believe that any holder of a fully reformed Adonalsium would be able to keep his own personality. He wouldn't at least be destined to be completely overwritten, though the mere situation of being so powerful might do interesting things to the holder's psyche in itself.
  20. How do we know this? There are no clear chronological markers in the book from what I've been able to tell. I always felt like the dates of the Death Chants in the Epigraphs served to give a general time-frame, but that breaks completely down later in the book when the Epigraphs jumps months ahead in time while several chapters take place the very same day. You think he might have somehow been able to plan for it? If not, what do you think would have happened if he turned up on one of his bad days?
  21. It might not have been essential, but in his mind, having spiked a member of Kelsier's original crew - regardless of him arguably being the least important one - would undoubtedly prove useful. He'd probably try to spike the lot of them if he'd been given half a chance.
  22. Hey, I'm all in for a Bridge Four-way with Kaladin, Jasnah, Shallan and Tarah.
  23. Crem is dirt and earth carried in the waters of a Highstorm. It is very nutritional and farmers use Stormwater to water the fields to yield better and healthier crops, and Chull and various other crustaceans use it to form their shells. This also makes it dangerous to drink; you have to let it stand in a barrel or a container for a while in order to let the precipitate fall to the bottom, before you can scoop up the clean water on top and the crem itself to make pots and pans and whatnot. Another curious effect is that a layer of dirt will form wherever the Stormwater fall. It can even make stalactites on rooftops if you do not clean it regularly. And as Shardbearer mentioned, yes, because of its nutritious nature and important role in the wildlife of Roshar, some people believe it to be Cultivations body. See the Coppermind's article on crem for more info.
  24. I still want to know primarily if there were Cadmium/Bendalloy and possibly Chromium/Nicrosil Mistings in the final empire. EDIT: And if he doesn't RAFO that, and the answer is yes, ask if the Mists were snapping those as well.
