  1. Mistrunner is conflicted as to whether she should accept the offer of an alliance or scream "NOOOOO!" like Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.
  2. ...I do this all the time...
  3. Maybe they need to hear from this guy.
  4. Thanks to you both. It helped. And a pug would be nice.
  5. Okay, if this happens, I'm totally going to commandeer the bookmobile.
  6. Just- school, mostly. I've got some really bad teachers and a whole lot of work piled up. *hugs back* Thanks.
  7. I can't deal with life right now. It's not working right.
  8. Ten, all the way. He's great. And them facial expressions. He's got 'em all, plus some. That's a hard one, though. I loved the star whale one, but Stolen Earth (and all the little allusions to it throughout the season) was really good. So I'll say my favorite was The Stolen Star Whale. Depends on where I am. If at school, a hefty textbook for whackage of zombies or a desk to make a barricade, if at home, a bag to stuff food/water/possible weapons into.My friends and I had a comprehensive plan for this, but now that I've moved I'll need to reformulate it. My survival depends on what type of zombies they turn out to be. If they're the slow, moaning, arm-swinging type of zombies typical to popular culture, I think I could, for a while, at least. I can run pretty fast, I have pretty good survival skills, and I can travel light. However, the real question is whether I could survive without books.
  9. Bandwagon ho!I know I said something about it a few days ago, but for anyone that missed it... How old do I seem?
  10. Twenty-something?I'll join Twi's cheerleading team!
  11. *hugs Twi lots* You will make it through this. Okay? *hugs again*
  12. I'm the resident... uhh... thing? I have absolutely no idea.
  13. All. The. Time. I'm always attempting to formulate the perfect thing to say should someone ask this or say that or whatever.
  14. Mistrunner greets Stormgate with an enthusiastic handshake and plate of bookies. "Welcome! How was the journey up the mountain? Not too many billy goats attacked you, I hope?" She paused. "And the thing about surges and Heralds and stuff... Well, we're working on that. Rusting inconvenient, not knowing what your magical abilities are." She looked around the room, noticing Ally. "Heyo! Welcome back, I think, if that other Allomancy wasn't... you... I think... Ah, well, anyways. Anybody want to help discover their magical powers?!" Mistrunner waggles her fingers in a strange attempt to look magic-y.
  15. I keep having to remind myself that likes don't really mean anything whenever I venture over to Facebook. (•_•)
  16. Today, playing with nieces, I discovered that Neice 1 had a key ring. She asked what it was for. I gave her the boring explanation, but then told her it was Sauron's and that it made people invisible when worn and mean if they kept it too long. She kept sticking it on her finger and wanting to give it back to Sauron, insisting he was nice. Eventually Niece 2 got ahold of it and I convinced her to drop it into the fires of Mount Doom. So, to conclude, I'm a bit worried about Niece 1, but at least now I can call Niece 2 Frodo. And in other news, now that Thanksgiving dinner has been eaten, it is officially the Christmas season! Christmas music, yahoo! Carol of the Bells by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I say no more.
  17. ...when you're me. More seriously(?), when you have to keep reloading the homepage, searching vainly for new replies to things.
  18. The reference is from A Series of Unfortunate Events, but it's a real (and really big) type of pasta. The foreman at the Carnivorous Carnival threatens to whip people with it.
  19. I sing to myself all the time! I used to sing with a friend- we were boss at Les Mis marathons, did parts and everything- but then I moved, and now I sing with a pretend person doing the other parts. "But then I moved" seems to end a lot of my sentences lately.
  20. Music snobby rant ahead! In the church we're in now (after the move), the organist has been just awful. Well, he isn't terrible at playing, exactly, but he makes a lot of mistakes and for prelude literally pulls out all the stops on the organ. For those who don't know, that means it's really, really loud. It feels like the organ is violently attacking you when it should be reverent, soft music. Skip to choir practice. Apparently the person called as the music chair only really does the choir at Christmas. We're singing hymns straight out of the hymn book and a few songs out of the Children's Songbook. Just straight, no arrangements, nothing. The choir director/music chair can't read music. When the men were practicing, they were just doing the melody, and a few asked if they should try to do parts. She replied, "No parts for now, just harmony." 0.o The women went to another room to practice the number we were singing. It was really good. We had a very accomplished lady on piano who actually works with youth on vocal stuff. She was great- she added in some dynamics, made sure everybody was singing straight and together, etc. then we went back in for the runthrough with the pianist who will be doing it for the performance. This is the same guy who plays organ. It was bad. Apparently whenever other people play organ or piano for church things he gets really upset and once stormed out of the chapel. Since that happened everyone's walked on eggshells around him and let him play whenever he wants, which is always. Ugh. It's terrible. There are several people in the ward who can play very well, but they can't because they have to be nice to this one person who can't let other people can play sometimes. Ugh.
  21. Did anyone watch the OU/TCU game last night? I was there. Ushering. As a Venture scout. And then I got to sit on a wooden bench with the other scout ushers and crane my neck to try and see the screen showing the game and freeze my fingers off in the below-freezing weather. It was fun!
  22. Ever heard of a tagliatelle grande?I've heard getting hit by one is an unpleasantly sticky experience.
