Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back
Mistrunner replied to Orlion Blight's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
While flipping through some old notebooks I found a line I don't even remember writing. "Ivory knew she would be dead in precisely four minutes, so she ate another chocolate." -

Fixed. Also, I had the same type of idea. Then I remembered that nothing good can come to Kaladin. Still, one can dream. To dream, the impossible dream... -

*big squishy hug*I haven't read what you've written, but I doubt it's as bad as you think. Even if it isn't as good as you'd like it to be, it's a draft, and if you keep writing you'll get better. I promise. *big squishy hug again* -

Was visiting family over the weekend. Niece #2 (AKA Frodo, because I'm a nerd) has her own sort of language that is a lot like German. In it I am called Da-Deutsch. -

What would I give to see one of my friends again. Any of them. To be able to talk and laugh and song random songs with someone. To have someone to partner up with in class. To be a weirdo and be absolutely stupid and not care a fig. Loneliness isn't fun. -

Random Fact of the Day! All blue-eyed people are likely related, as blue eyes are believed to have been a genetic mutation occurring in one person a very long time ago and subsequently passed on to progeny. Previous to this, all people had brown eyes. -
Mistrunner looks around. "Did everyone spontaneously fall asleep? Or am in in a bendalloy bubble?" She gets way too excited at this possibility and starts to jump around on beanbags.

For awesome Pinterest-ness (at least to me ) and being a part of all the fandoms. You're supposed to do it for the person above you, Stormgate.

And here I was thinking it was a nice discussion that just ended.

For a second, I was really confused, but then I remembered hemispheres and stuff. Yay! -
Reference to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

But dolphins are the second-most intelligent beings on Earth besides mice! They'd find a way out.

The newcomer sees this hat-wearing pony ride off into the sunset, stunned."You must be new 'round here, kid," a voice sounds behind him. He spins to see Mistrunner sitting on the porch, chewing on a piece of straw. "He's a legend. King of Kobolds, but here we just call him Kobold." "How... he's a pony! How can he be riding a horse?" "Like I said, he's a legend. He's got a 2:1 rep/post ratio and the highest rep count in the county- probably of the whole territory." "And who're they?" Newcomer asks as several others, some ponies, some not, make their way into view. "Those? Them's the sherif and deputies. Likes of Delightful- she does hugs and Forum Big Sistering- and Kaymyth- she's the mother figure of all Shard Territory. And there's the sparkly glitter goddess of pugs and and RPs, but I think she's indisposed over yonder in Oregon Territory."

I agree with a Delightful and Twi on this one. I don't think climate change is "the biggest threat" to humanity today, as some people like to claim, because, you know, there's a lot of people dying for other, more pressing reasons. I also don't think we know everything about this planet and how it works. But still, we should always be nice to the planet, because it is our home, and we should be good to it and not trying to kill it.

Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back

On this generation: I'm okay with it. After all, I have to live with it. I do think cell phones can be a problem, especially with how young people are getting them. You're in second grade! I'm twice your age and I don't have one! I can't see why you'd need one that young. And my biggest problem with this generation is its fixation on absolute safety. You have to wear a helmet to ride a scooter, elbow and knee pads to roller blade because otherwise you aren't safe. They closed off the train at Dennis the Menace Park (it's in Cali, and pretty darned fun) because some people sued for injuries. You can't climb trees or even climb up the five-foot tall slide at the playground. In fact, straight slides are too dangerous, so they install the twirly ones that don't work. You can't do anything remotely fun because it isn't safe. /rant That said, there's some pretty cool things done by this generation. Like the kid who built a Braille printer out of Legos and the girl who invented a phone battery that can charge in 30 seconds. This generation can be pretty darned innovative, and I'm rather proud of being a part of it. -

My parents never told me he was real either. They never had to. My mother has told me I was a very jaded five-year-old. Sometimes they'd jokingly act like he was, but only because we knew it was Mom's handwriting that said "From Santa." By the way, you can't make fun of Miracle on 34th Street either, because I will react in a way similar to what has been described by Twi. -

Am I the only kid who never believed in Santa? Was it the older siblings? Was it the fact that I was always jaded and suspicious? In any case, I always found it strange that other kids really, truly believed. The idea of Santa made no sense to me. How old was this guy? How could he possibly go all around the world in a day? Who is he to decide who was "naughty" and who was "nice"? Why would he pay for coal, a rather expensive resource, to give to "bad" kids? In other words, I was a cynical, depraved child. -
