Whoa! Nice. Upvote! I'm going to have to do this sometime soon..... What if it was Kalak? O.o Brace yourselves.... Speculation is coming.

Eddie Dean from The Dark Tower series! He's fantastic, always made me laugh. But rose the occasion, every time. Tyrion and Arya from Game of Thrones, and Varys. He's just so shady, but I think honest in his goals. I kinda like Adolin from WoK, I think he has a lot of potential for growth. And of course Matrim Cauthon. He's the perfect character.

Nice! Upvote for sure! Axies was one of my more favorite characters too. I just think he's so unique and could probably provide a lot of answers for us. I was surprised there wasn't much talk about him on here, considering. But there is only so much we learned from his interlude. Definitely hope we see him again.

ha! Yay, that's my theory! I know it's unlikely. But just imagine how hard that would be for Kaladin to swallow... his dad got all hardened and P-O'd at the world after his son died and his prodigious son left him for war, of all things. Lirin should be very heartbroken, and righteously. So why would he not leave his town. There's nothing holding him there anymore, just memories and pain. So he goes to Kharbarnth. Goes to go do the good word. But then he notices as certain people are dying they make some weird sort of statements... or Death Chants! (buh buh buh). Honestly. It's a long stretch. I highly doubt this is what actually happens, but I could totally see how it's possible for Lirin to end up with Mr. T. Just unlikely. Fun theory, though.

Yeah... sorry for getting it a little derailed. But this is all good advice, and I really hope I can get some games going soon. It sounds like a lot of fun. I just want to mess around with allomancy and feruchemy. There's so much that can be done. Thanks again for the advice guys.

Not the most... exactly. Have quite a few friends who have done a lot of D&D before and I'd mostly be trying to play with them. One of them has read the first Mistborn Trilogy, too.

I seriously need to check out this MAG with some friends. Any tips on getting started?

So in awesome case scenario... Kaladin wins full Shardplate and Sword and gives it to Teft or Moash. That'd be pretty fantastic.

Really Good(or at least not Bad) Shard Ideas

Shard of Hygiene. To prevent those dirty barbarians from wreaking havoc with magic. -
LDS Influences on Themes (Theology Time)
Gamma Fiend replied to The Rooster's topic in General Brandon Discussion
As Kurk has said before... seeing my avatar next to the thread title when I'm last poster does NOT help with reading it correctly. XD -
.... that actually would make sense. Upvote for very possible theory! If Shardblades wounds could be healed, I would say Lift has the best chances.

I am working through Well of Acension at the moment again. I do think I remember seeing Ruin changing metalminds in the books. I'll post it up where if/when I come across the right quote

Feruchemical immunity to emotional manipulation?
Gamma Fiend replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Mistborn
Yeah I was thinking Feruchemical Identity would be a possible way of avoiding that. But it does mention Tindwyl wasn't one of the stronger Keepers. So yeah I believe it's more just her being very strong willed in her case. Buuuut. Let's speculate on the possibilities and uses of Feruchemical aluminum and other methods to prevent Rioting/Soothing! -
In 'The Well of Acension' when Breeze is trying to soothe Tindwyl she says "Push my emotions all you want Soother. My feelings are my own. You'll have no success there" Now it could very well easily be she just has a very strong personality and would be more resistant to Emotional allomancy than most people. I imagine that's how she was able to detect his touches in the first place. But she sounds very certain that his efforts won't work. Is there any sort of Feruchemical properties that would protect from Soothing/Rioting? Maybe a trick with a certain metalminds? Any other instances where Keepers are Soothed or rioted? (I guess we really only have Sazed and Tindwyl as an observation group so probably not too much help there) What you guys think? This have any merit or am I just reading too much into Tindwyl's no-nonsense attitude?

Ya know what sounds like a real horrible shard idea? Odium. Who wants to be hateful all the time? That shard would be a real bummer, man.

LDS Influences on Themes (Theology Time)
Gamma Fiend replied to The Rooster's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Yeah if this thread was 'LSD influences on themes' it'd be more likely talking about Stephen King and his books. Or coke and cough syrup.... Dude had a lot of drug problems. -
Yeah I definitely think it was the 'Quantum Spren' interlude. Those are very important implications. I really hope we get follow-up Interludes in following books, I am very interested in the development of that research.

It's actually 16 Shards. Hence we're the 17th. I guess Sanderson didn't think 12 was cool and complex enough. heh. But I got a Cosmere feeling from Ym's religion too. Reeks heavily of mysterious Adonalsium mythology to me. And there's not too much WoB on it overall. We only know bits of pieces so it's hard to say for sure. But we know Hoid knows a lot about it. We're waiting for that much anticipated Hoid PoV.

Kurk, we got another one for you!

I wonder if Taravangian pities the fools who don't know the Desolation is coming...

Theory: Adonalsium Proliferation
Gamma Fiend replied to askthepaperclip's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Waldo and Carmen San Diego wish they had the kind of reputation Hoid has. But for real. I like this theory. It's a good enough guess given the amount of information we have. We know Hoid is up to something that will upset some very Cosmere-aware people. I would assume he has some other Shard important items too. Guess we'll have to RAFO. XD- 30 replies

Cool ideas Swimmingly. And thanks for the input Name_Here I've been working and tweaking this idea for a while now, and it's been tough to get a balanced classification going. Was leaning towards One person gets one Wave type each, but as pointed out those are just different energy levels. And the whole matter of electricity and magnetism. I'm not exactly a physicist and I have no idea at what point what levels of energy turn into what property. I know when I get this system all balanced and fixed it could be so awesome. There's so much potential for cool stuff in this world. Middle ages with just very specific levels of advanced technology. The Steam Engine can be re-hauled and revolutionized to streamlined simplicity, just create the Water and Valve system and have an Infrared (IR) user heat away. Or teams. They could use Zeppelins as travel, if not Hot Air Balloon for quick transport. The instant communication with Radios would be phenomenal for war and politics, but also very dangerous. Realistically people with strong Microwave powers could just go fry peoples brains at whim. But people who Manipulate light will be the scariest. How can anybody trust what they see? This will cause very awkward contact-based greetings and rituals, in order to see if there's illusion happening or not. I honestly might need to shelf the idea before it gets too started. And plus: I recently read Brent Week's Lightbringer Series and man, we're barking up a similar tree. Of course I had no idea of his and there are glaring differences. Whereas he splits the Light Spectrum into different colors that create different materials (very, radically different from what I got, safe there) but then he also branches out into infrared and ultraviolet, for somewhat similar uses. And (book 2 spoilers)

I saw a random 2-season anime series called Wolf's Rain a few years back. I liked it, it was very well done. Plot wasn't drawn out at all, not many fillers if any. Really weird story. There are people who are really Wolves, but everybody sees them as people still. They're really just huge frickin' wolves though. Kinda weird. Can't remember the plot too much but I remember the ending was super brutal. (I don't like the sappy, happy ending nonsense all the time) But it was still a pretty cool Anime.
