  1. I like to look at it this way. The human mind is complex and has many intents at any time. I don't think it's necessarily handling many intents that is the problem, but handling singular intents that is difficult.
  2. But if the stick never existed to claim he was a stick, would he be able to resist the change. Also at that point he would have to change to become a stick again. Quite the paradox.
  3. Well, we know that at some point someone was able to do it. We also know that the intents of the shards can be directed (We see this with Dalinar and Honor). Also one main plot point in Brandon's book is the acceptance that no one can be perfect, I mean the Sibling bonding with Navani was literally the acceptance that no one would completely embody the ideologies of something shaped by human perception.
  4. Dang, I did not realize it was that old. That's my bad. I've been reading the Wheel of Time recently and was just scrolling.
  5. The CoS cover really looks like they caught Chuck Norris (I guess) practicing for an upcoming boxing match. (Jake Paul's newest opponent?)
  6. The three ta'veren each casually explaining how the other two are much better than them when dealing with woman.
  7. Dang, I guess the girl that said she liked me must've taken up this shard at some point in our relationship.
  8. I mean in the Rosharan sense this might be bad, but Mind lending me your glove?
  9. This may be debatable about the Sanderson part, but ... when you attempt to embrace the void when your thoughts are jumbled.
  10. I think that he was referring to the fact that Dalinar was confused about where they were going. He understands that something needed to go to the oathpact, but something else is confusing Dalinar.
  11. Well that was an interesting choice.
  12. Sounds a lot like balefire doesn't it. Except you don't have to get as close for balefire to work.
  13. My favorite quotes are probably anything by Tien. He's basically my favorite character.
  14. When you take time to get a little further in your book before your basketball game just to calm down.
  15. I feel like it was heavily implied that Shallan would have the chance at becoming a herald at some point. It could just be her mom being literally insane, but it is certainly something that Sanderson wants us to deliberate on.
  16. I know that Dalinar (probably) isn't coming back. That's why the main characters aren't just going to become the new heralds!!! But Shallan is basically set up. It was supposed to be sarcastic.
  17. Unpopular opinion here, but I much prefer books where I can understand everything and make connections between other works. I much prefer the last two books.
  18. Sorry for this, but “The death is my life, the strength becomes my weakness, the journey has ended.” I have begun my anti-journey (because the journey has ended) of becoming the antithesis of a Windrunner. The second ideal I will attack those who have no way of protecting themselves.
  19. I'd love to see how Dalinar gets out of his current predicament. I mean him becoming a herald is definitely the next step in his story arc.
  20. After listening to Edgedancer with my little brother to try and get him interested in the cosmere, I believe that there could be a case made for the twins being Nale and Szeth. Throughout the series they are literally defined by a dark and light stereotype (Assassin in White) and (Darkness). They also have similar origins in the books (both starting out as assassins thinking they are doing what is right). The wall could represent the guilt, and the light could be finding peace with themselves. I don't think Kaladin is a good fit because fit seems he has already found the light, and it would be a better metaphor if he stood with the light and was encouraging his "darkened twin" onward. It seems Szeth and Nale were on a similar path throughout the first arc though.
