I think Shallan is very "fond" of Adolin, just like how Navani was "fond" of Gavilar. But she only lets Kaladin in to see her true self and she talks about how he has so much passion yet has it completely under control, much like what Navani said about Dalinar. Even though I'm a super fan of Syl x Kal, I can't help but notice all the blatant hints Brandon left for Kaladin x Shallan.

The thing I would have expected them to notice was how the helmet survived so many blows from shardblades. I wonder if it was even noticeable that his stormlight was healing the cracks in the helmet.

You know...Navani has a lot of experience with choosing the wrong man and getting the right one later. Maybe she'll have some words for Shallan lol.

Your favourite moments in WOR? (spoilers)
Fistsofrage replied to Aniki's topic in Stormlight Archive
Then she smiled. Oh, storms. She smiled anyway. It was the single most beautiful thing he’d seen in his entire life. “How?” he asked. -
“How about this?” she said, holding his eyes. “I promise, solemnly and by the tenth name of the Almighty, that I mean no harm to Adolin or his family. I mean to prevent a disaster. I might be wrong, and I might be misguided, but I vow to you that I’m sincere.” He stared into her eyes. So intense. She felt a shiver meeting that expression. This was a man of passion. This was a man of passion...where have I heard that before? Oh yes...that's what Navani said about Dalinar o.O I think I just unwittingly solved the Adolin vs Kaladin debate that was going on in my mind lol.

If Honorblades can really change forms, I hope that Kaladin does eventually learn how to use a sword. If only just for the knowledge. Hopefully his hatred of lighteyes wanes and doesn't hinder him anymore. The Versatility of the Honorblade could then truly be unlocked (especially if he learns other weapons as well).

So...question. What kind of awesomeness unfolds when a person gets surgebinding from both an Honorblade AND Nahel bond?! Is this the first time such a thing has ever happened? Kaladin > Herald? WHat? Edit: Ok, so I'm getting ahead of myself. But still...the only way to counter a group of stormform parshendi seems to be a one man army of Honorblade and Nahel bond xD. But wouldn't that be too much for book 2?

I'm not sure how I feel about the Adolin chapter. After weeks of reading "mature" Kaladin chapters, the older Adolin seems...childish? Hope I don't offend any Adolin fans by saying that, it's just the feeling I get from the chapter. Edit: And this feeling has nothing to do with his duel rituals, those were nice. Gotta love that brotherly bonding time.

Poor Szeth is being used to hype up Kaladin's status. After defeating him, his reputation will skyrocket, and his name will be known in all the kingdoms. Kaladin Stormblessed!

Why do I get the feeling Jasnah is going to die?
Fistsofrage replied to The Count's topic in Stormlight Archive
Jasnah dying would put everything on Shallan's shoulder's and explain why Jasnah doesn't really have her own pov. It even makes sense in a tragic way. But I really want love her character and would be devastated if she died here. Yeah, she has too much to do and is too strong willed to die here. It'd be like Moiraine dying early in WoT, -
Uh, we've seen his battle fields and the way he runs his camp. I think he needs more than a shardblade to fix things and preserve lives. His mind is obviously somewhere else. Seriously doubt he cares much for the common man.

Why do I get the feeling Jasnah is going to die?
Fistsofrage replied to The Count's topic in Stormlight Archive
Jasnah has spent most of her life in books and intrigue. I think she deserves to enjoy a little before she dies. Or learn to trust men (or a man). The list gets bigger the more I think about it... -

Excerpt from Words of Radiance: Chapters Six, Eight, and Nine
Fistsofrage replied to kobain's topic in Stormlight Archive
Uh oh. Speculation is afoot, what does this mean... I assumed that since Rock was still going to use the broam to buy spices that it was just a normal broam but is there really more to it? Or is this statement actually agreeing that i'm right...so ambiguous. Guess I'll have to stalk Rock a bit in WoK and see if I can find out. Edit: After much debate and confusion I think I'll stick with my original statement until further spoilers lol. -
The 'Conflict' between Honorspren and Cryptics
Fistsofrage replied to Macen's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, when light is present, darkness is also present. If you have a Batman, a Joker will eventually show up. So the thought that if the Radiants exist, then the Voidbringers will follow is not all wrong. I'm sure the lack of Radiants has something to do with why the desolation has been so long in coming.- 51 replies
