Coverage of the Mistborn Board Game from GenCon
Kadrok commented on WeiryWriter's article in Brandon and Book News
This is going to sound crazy, but does anyone else want to merge this game with the MAG? Like, use the game as the framework for the "outer" or "meta" game to a giant playthrough of the MAG? Everyone plays as members of different houses and we fill in the resolution of the "Problems" with actual MAG gameplay. Claincy or Hero, I'm looking at you as the narrators most likely to be able to pull this off!- 23 comments

I like how Feruchemy is foreshadowed in a random throw-away line in Chapter 5 of Mistborn: The Final Empire: Yeah, it's not a huge thing, but it was still cool noticing that and realizing I'd completely missed it on my first read through.

Shadows of Self Cover & Release Date
Kadrok commented on Windrunner's article in Brandon and Book News
Or Wax and Steris or Wax and Ranette or Wax and Wayne in drag. Probably Sliverism, Survivorism, Pathism and Neo-Trellism. EDIT: My bad. It's not neo-Trellism it's just Trellism which is neo-Trelagism. I was reminded of this by reading the linked thread which pretty much says all of this anyway. -
Yeah. Four exclusives would really be much neater, because we could go Electrum-Lerasium-Aluminum-Duralumin. Can we make it?
-
That was my thinking as well.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

Granted. You're driven mad by the revelation. Also, please watch this instructional video, if you haven't already. I wish to retrieve Brandon Sanderson from the sunken ruins of New Zealand. -

Aw, that's sweet. To be fair, there'll eventually be internet access. It'd be like that time I stopped coming here for a while, only when I come back I'm on MARS! As for your friend... wow, I'm so jealous! Wish her or him the best for me. I'll see if they're taking applicants again once I've finished my PhD. Anyway, back to watching the Night -

Granted. You become totally sober, and can never become intoxicated again. I want the skills and motivation to become one of the Mars One colonists. -
Hoid is using his bead of Lerasium as a Metalmind
Kadrok replied to Kadrok's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I've heard that theory before, and am inclined to agree. The person who said it before, suggested the Well of Ascension was producing Lerasium beads in much the same way the Pits of Hathsin were producing Atium beads, albeit at a much slower rate. -

Yikes, so many counterspells flying around. Is everyone playing a blue deck? -

Wow, someone dug up this old thing. I had a similar idea in another thread. I also build on that a little here, suggesting a reason why there were Lerasium beads left in the Chamber. -

That actually sounds pretty awesome. You can get a lot done in three years, if it's the right three years, and the since you keep all your memories, you're effectively immortal and can build on what you've learned in all the previous cycles. You're essentially immortal, especially since you said you'd spend eternity trapped in the loop, never capable of breaking free. I assume if you die you get sent back to the start of the three years? I would do so many Graduate Diplomas, it's not even funny. Granted. Unfortunately you need it to walk now, since your curse is crippling. I want what jasonpenguin got in the quote made earlier in this post. -

No need to thank the Nightwatcher! She just gives you what she thinks you deserve... or whatever happens to be lying around... or whatever is amusing to her at that moment. -

Granted Captain Noble Sacrifice. Perhaps this bead of Lerasium will brighten your day. I wish for absolution. -

Done. As I don't know your culture, and therefore what impulses are applicable to your particular situation, I just removed them all to be safe. Does that count the impulse to breathe? I want a pony made out of diamonds. -

Interesting wording. You are granted the bread to bring the liquified remains of your granny. Whether you choose to pour her or not is up to you. I wish for a giant pile of cash. -
New Mistborn: Birthright Release Date and Platforms (Updated!)
Kadrok commented on Chaos's article in Brandon and Book News
I'm also in the "can't afford the next generation" crowd, so I'm relieved it will be released on 360. Also, it's been three years already?! Wow. It seems like just yesterday. Tragically in these three years I've only seen two games I would like to play among the next-gen line up, and neither I like enough to justify getting a next gen console (I got my 360 for Bioshock and Borderlands 1).- 22 comments

Then I can only assume that my Time Rift still preserves some elements of the present. Sorry. I tried. EDIT: Wait. I have an idea. Have you always had the screen name "The Only Joe" or have you changed it at any point (even briefly)? -

Granted, but it's burnt beyond legibility because it's from a Post-Apocalyptic nightmare future. I wish for the motivation to stop procrastinating. -
Mental speed. Just so I can do several things at once with Super-multi task. If I can learn to work an X-Box controller with my feet, I could play Co-op with myself.
-
Awesome! Built by whose order? I must have missed that detail. I tried looking up Palaneum on the Coppermind, but to no avail.
-
I'd be Lurcher/Sparker (or Allomantic iron/Feruchemical zinc... or Pulling Metal and Mental Speed). Lurching is just fantastically useful for reasons I'm outlined in several other places, and Mental Speed is amazing too. Also, with enough Mental Speed you'd be able to effectively manage bullet pulling in a firefight, adjusting the trajectories of shots just slightly so that every bullet coming at your allies misses. Plus I'd use it to win reaction games. I'd store in front of mindless television, or during boring conversations that I'm expected to appear to be listening to, but not expected to contribute to.

Exactly! Iron is clearly better than Steel! I personally hate the idea of flying around, so the Iron-fly-nerf doesn't bother me. Losing bullet deflection is a pain, but I'm rarely shot at, and if I am going into a warzone, a bullet proof vest and redirecting things to my chest should suffice. Beyond that, I lose shooting bits of metal at people... and that's what guns are for. As for what I gain... everything you said! I fell in love with Iron a while back, and I'm still going strong. So we have no Nicrobursts yet... which means we have someone choosing to be an Aluminum Gnat before choosing to be a Nicroburst.
