  1. ChayShan. I don't know, it just seems cool, while Bloodsealing... well, it's not quite human sacrifice, but it comes a bit close for my liking. Even if I did like that character from TES. Would you rather live in the Fractured States or the United Isles of America?
  2. Oohh. Okay. Guess I really am Slow. See, I 1) do not live where y'all live, so things are most assuredly different there, and 2) I've heard stories of the Horrid Midterms, but I either didn't have to take them myself for whatever reason or they weren't as intense here as I'd been led to believe.
  3. Oh, right. Those. Glad you passed!
  4. There's also the fact that, for the longest time, our state tree was the Colorado Blue Spruce.
  5. Seagulls are actually Utah's state bird. We're also landlocked. Though, for us it makes a little more sense that they'd be hanging around because there actually are two quite large lakes in the area. Also, there's that cool story where the pioneers' crops were being totally obliterated by crickets, and after much praying, a bunch of seagulls came and ate them all.
  6. Know that feel -- I literally (and as far as I can remember, I mean that) haven't had clear skin since I was like, twelve. It's the worst.
  7. Lately I've been reading Steven Brust's books chronicling the adventures of the assassin Vlad Taltos. Absolutely 110% recommended. (So far. I'm only four books in; it could take a dive at any time)
  8. I have no idea what that is, but I'm happy for you, so
  9. You seem like a pretty nice guy. Also you take care of cats and do coding -- all of which are excellent attributes in my book.
  10. Someone at church forgot the word "hobby," and now my new favorite was to describe it is "something you do on the side for joy." :P:D

  11. Oh, by the way, I have the playlist set up so that it stays more or less proportional and no one artist dominates: ergo, I try to keep to a rule of no more than five songs per artist. Thanks! And yes, sounds interesting. I'd like a look.
  12. @Sunbird, @Mestiv, @Darkness Ascendant, @bleeder, and anyone else who's interested: as requested, Awesome Songs on Spotify! Let me know if there are any problems. There should be 110 songs; I don't know how Spotify works totally so maybe not all of them will be playable? IDK. But I hope I didn't just totally betray you all with my terrible music taste. Also, if Spotify doesn't work for you, I should be able to make a YouTube playlist and a Google Doc within the next few days.
  13. Bringing this back because I actually love this kinda thing don't judge me Personal computer is still art from Ghost Stories, but I've been rocking this on the main computer for a while now:
  14. I know how you feel -- not totally, obviously, but. There've been times when I interacted with someone (online or in person), and then walked away and thought about how awkward, how stupid, and a lot of times, how hurtful I probably was with what I said. I resolve to keep that in mind next time and do better. And yet. The cycle continues. And, just so you know: even if you don't love yourself right now, we do, I can assure you.
  15. My Psychology teacher one accidentally nailed a kid in the head with a three-hole punch. I was not there, unfortunately; this was a story from years previously. ETA: As a side note, I am currently twitching, giggling at everything, and making all the typos due to recent caffeine consumption. Send help pls >:P ETA 2: Better now.
  16. Fair. But still, consistency has to be better than "who knows", right?
  17. To be fair, though, the gap between 1 and 2 was four years, while the gap between 2 and 3 is looking to be only three -- so it does appear to be shrinking. If that trend keeps up, and Brandon manages to find the most efficient balance of his time, we should be good. It's still pretty early in his career; he could easily fall into a workable routine and shave that gap down to two years by the time the back five roll around.
  18. Today is my birthday, and also Einstein's birthday, and Pi Day.

    Yay. :D

      Happy birthday Slowswift!

      Have a very irrational day!

  19. Awesome! Though I don't know how much of it'll be new to you... This playlist is more the mainstream stuff that I like, though it encompasses many genres (rock, pop, electronic, etc.). A great many of the songs I first heard on the radio.
  20. Look forward to seeing you there! That is, assuming we get this going consistently again.
  21. So, in a status update I made a while ago, I said... Well, that playlist is at 108 songs and counting. What I'm interested to find out is, when I've finish curating, would y'all like to see it? The link's probably gonna end up in my sig regardless, but I'm curious to see if people trust me enough to give them music recommendations.
  22. Oh, good. What should we call it, do you think? Except for that one time when we were all starving but lunch was delayed because we forgot about DST.
  23. Daylight Savings is inhumane. Time should not be under the jurisdiction of the government. I'm gonna write a manifesto and start a cult.
