    Thanks! Yes! I applied to Deseret Industries, a chain of thrift stores my church owns. Actually, I wasn't even planning on applying, at least not today -- but all of five minutes into talking with an employment councilor, I was filling out an application. Here's hoping there's no paperwork nightmares... which, of course, means there will be. XD

    Good, I think. They were a bit understaffed, so the whole thing took like three hours, but I think it went really well. Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon...

    It's actually Reformed Gothic. I've got it pretty close to memorized, though translating back into Latin script is much harder than the other way around. And the text is Ezra Pound's poem "In a Station of the Metro".

    Agreed. Though, the discussion about whether or not religious adherence is due to a Big Brother-type thing is a whole other can of worms.

    Trying out a new signature! It's crooked and poorly-written (one day, I shall learn calligraphy), but it is a rough draft -- I'll put a prettier version up sometime in the future.

    Well, if all you've got is Microsoft Word to work with... IIRC, most of my teachers didn't care -- it just had to be legible, no joke fonts, etc. I had a preference for Book Antiqua and used it with no problem.

    Fonts without kerning. I mean, it's not really that big a deal, but it's so annoying when something like "AWESOME" gets rendered as essentially "A WESOME". Throws me off every time.

    Blame the web filters. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with wearing period dress or something, but... just about anything can be taken too far. Case in point, apparently, is this article.

    I find it interesting that, despite cutting-edge technology being developed every day, we still have this obsession with "retro" technology.. Like, smartphones are cool, but I'm suddenly interested in cassette tapes again.

    It's probably no accident "Sadeas", if pronounced a certain way, rhymes with... Happy to help. I never saw the prank firsthand; this was a few years ago and it's entirely likely that it was just someone with Photoshop. But yes, 'tis a special brand of cruelty, indeed.
