  1. I wish it were raining outside.
  2. Adblock Plus (a Google Chrome extension, probably on other browsers as well) is my best friend.
  3. I've actually found one that works pretty well, called Curel. Problem is we seem to be out, so I might investigate some of these further. Thanks for the advice!
  4. Heh. If I could, I would -- I've had no piano lessons to speak of; all of my musical knowledge came from very basic theory in school (pitch, rhythm, etc.). Most chords and interval stuff still largely eludes me. It's my cousins who're the musical geniuses, not me. Unfortunately.
  5. Playing the piano on a rainy day is lovely. Unfortunately, I don't know many proper songs, so I'm sticking to hymns -- which are just as fun, for me.
  6. First time in a while I've used up my quota.

    Blame the gallery.

Why, hello there, new phone wallpaper.
  8. Yeah. Or the rest of me. On the other bright side, should I ever want to do a Doctor Strange cosplay, I've got the hands down.
  9. Yeah. It's just, I either forget or don't do it often enough. Either way, lotion or no, I end up with dry hands pretty much every winter. Cold + dry =/= good.
  10. Dry hands. Dry, cracked, and bleeding hands. Which I get every winter. Looking forward to the warmer weather (which I don't usually do; I loathe summer), is all I'm saying.
  11. Ahh. Sounds interesting. xD
  12. Yes. Yes it is. There's a whole series of them. Er, no. What is it? Also, changed it again -- because why not?
  13. Nope. Now it's this. Don't actually know if I'll keep it. But it's certainly hilarious. ETA: Yeah, I'm not keeping it. A bit noisy for what I'm looking for at the moment; also, the accent color isn't my favorite.
  14. Speaking of... DO we want to keep doing this, or should we wait until we get more people?
  15. Ubdating my computer! How exciting.

      Rather, how mind-numbingly painful.

(Yes, I'm aware of the contradiction in terms. No, I don't care. Ow.)

  16. On the contrary, that sounds quite interesting.
  17. That is actually really cool.
  18. There's also the Everchanging Book of Names, but as far as I know it's Windows-only and a bit old. Excellent software, though -- I still use it from time to time.
  19. At my grandparents' while my mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother watch the women's session of the LDS General Conference (I'd stay home, but I figured I should tag along -- even if they'll be occupied for two hours, the company's nice).

Good thing I convinced my mom to bring her laptop. Now I can sneak off to the basement and write.

      And write I did -- over 500 words. :D

  20. Ooh, I'll add them to my list. Ah, fanfic. I've been wanting to write some for years now. Maybe using it like this, as a way to practice, will help. Thanks for the advice. Actually, I'm reminded a bit of Wayne when he's slipping into a role -- he tries out different motivations and voices until he finds the right one, and then he proceeds to infiltrate enemy territory with ease.
  21. A good way to go about it. I just have trouble with characters in general. Though recently, I've been able to assign dialogue based on "hmm, how would this character feel about this, and how would they say it?" So I think I'm getting better. We'll see.
  22. Yeah, I'm a lot more flexible when it comes to worldbuilding and plot, but characters? I have this weird idea I'm trying to kick that if I make them up as I go along, then that trait isn't "real", or "valid" or whatever -- that just because I made it up on the spot, with no particular reason, it can't be a "real" part of them. It's stupid, I know, but...
  23. That... is a lot smarter than the whole "ZOMG I MUST HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT BEFOREHAND OR IT IS NOT VALID!!1!" thing I've been doing, actually.
  24. I believe (not 100% sure, as this is just hearsay, so please do correct me if I'm wrong) that in the military, they require you to make your bed every morning, the philosophy being that even if you had a horrible day, you could come back and say "well, at least I did something right." It's a philosophy that I quite like.
