  5. i'm pretty sure they include any stars or stellar remnants. that would be sorta dumb sooo are brown dwarfs stars or planets.
  6. yup. same studio as the live action One Piece
  7. You've won the day 8 times. I've won it 6 times. Last time you won was August 3 2022
  8. gadgets are indeed fun. Who is your favourite Mistborn character (can be either Era)?
  9. Yeah exactly. I compartmentalize the parts that have to do with the convo. Like rn I'm talking to my mom about her being a guarantor for a place I'm renting. So like, I have to explain time management and all that. She does understand a bit more because she works with kids who have ADHD and autism, but yeah. I get it. It's hard and I still dunno how to explain everything. Maybe try to write everything down? I should make a little pamphlet I give to people. That would be funny and also useful.
  10. adrenaline masks pain incredibly well. you can have multiple wounds and not feel them
  11. needs more trees. I have 16 hours to myself and 8 hours to sleep. It's not fun being unemployed, though.
  12. This makes total sense to me. I have the same problem with lying and saying "I'm fine" to other people. I do not have a solution yet. Sorry. I will let you know if I figure it out. Currently, I compartmentalize my problems so I can explain the relevant parts. Of course, other parts get in the way and confuse the person I'm talking to, so the answer they give may not be satisfactory. This is super natural with AuDHD, I guess. I assume you have trouble explaining everything, and you don't have the words to do so?
  13. I believe you misunderstand the IAU definition. Orbit clearing does not mean the planet has to eject every single asteroid. It means the planet exerts gravitational influence on the asteroids in its orbit, moving them into the Lagrange points where they can maintain 1:1 resonance with the planet. Also, your mass cutoff is relatively arbitrary. Planet-ness is a continuum from dust to rubble to asteroid to dwarf planet to planet. If you create a mass line, you will make edge cases. This definition would no longer classify objects by structure, formation, and dynamics, but would classify them by two thresholds chosen for convenience. This is extremely weak as a scientific definition. Also, exoplanets already count with the current IAU definition. They're just called exoplanets because they aren't in the Sol System. You can check my full explanation in the ALIENS!!! topic thingamajig. (AKA I can't find it and am too lazy to) All in all, Pluto is not a planet. It is a dwarf planet which is the precursor to being a planet. Just don't argue with the IAU laws. They do know what they are doing. ...why? We don't need this definition. yeah. it's a theory (that i subscribe to) ALSO EVERYONE. Exoplanets are indeed planets. I dunno what makes y'all think the IAU said they aren't. They orbit stars.
  14. Fun Fact: The last beheading in France by guillotine was more recent than the release of Star Wars: A New Hope

The Roman Empire lasted from before Jesus to the time of Babe Ruth

The Holy Roman Empire was not the Roman Empire of yore.

But this was a beheading by fricking GUILLOTINE.

  15. The Grey Wake slipped out of hyperspace and began its descent toward Takodana. Clouds rolled across the viewport as Voss keyed on the comms. “You awake down there, Maz Kanata?” Maz answered almost immediately. “At my age? Sleep is a negotiation.” Static crackled briefly. “You sound miserable. What happened?” Voss exhaled slowly. “I need to talk to you about something.” “That sounds expensive.” “I’m serious.” Maz was quiet for a beat. “Ah. One of those talks.” “Yeah. Just not over comms.” “Hm.” He could almost picture her leaning back in her chair. “You being chased?” “No.” “Shot?” “No.” “Good. Then whatever it is can wait until you land.” The Grey Wake shuddered lightly as it cut through atmosphere. “I’ve got your shipment, by the way. Repair parts from Ord Mantell. And the alcohol.” “Did my Whyren’s Reserve survive your flying?” “Barely.” “That poor crate.” Maz clicked her tongue. “Bring it to me immediately so I can rescue it from your custody.” A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “I really need a glass myself.” “Oh, now I’m concerned,” Maz replied. “Usually, you pretend to have standards.” “Not today.” “Mm.” Her voice softened slightly. “Alright, dear. Land the ship. Drop the cargo off. And come find me when you’re ready to talk.” Voss watched the forests of Takodana emerge beneath the clouds. “Yeah. I will.” “And Ryn?” “What?” “No disappearing into the woods dramatically first. It’s irritating.” He huffed out a tired laugh. “I’ll try.” “You’d better. Love you, child.” He closed his eyes for a moment as the ship continued downward and sighed. “Love you too, Maz.”

  19. ohhh. yeah. You use the parallax to measure distance. I prefer lightyears to parsecs.
  20. parallax? (a parsec is a measurement of distance) Yeah. I believe the satellite Gaia used this technique to calculate the distance of over 1 billion astronomical objects. really cool stuff there. we got to measure stars up to 30,000 ly away from us. Here's a map Gaia made. absolutely insane.
