  1. I think that is the true best answer. Hide it somewhere extremely inconvenient to reach and hope everyone forgets about it.
  2. As is tradition. I don’t believe that would work. Lashing it would require investing the rock, which would make the rock float. Also, I suspect the Dawnshard would also have the rock float, even if it’s covered by aluminum.
  3. Double posting is not allowed. Welcome to the Shard, and here is the forum/discord policies.
  4. Aradan Liese, Underground, Unknown Sprinting down the hallway, Aradan did not breathe hard. Nor, was he fatigued, or even a little tired. For that was the power of pewter. Glancing ahead, he saw guards file around a corner. About ten of them—all armed. I do not want to get in a big fight like the cavern. If that happens, I’ll probably be overwhelmed. “The exit, or at least what I believe to be the exit, is through a door on my left,” Aradan said, looking over to see if Eza had registered the information. Satisfied, he ran to the door and flung it open. Looking up, he saw a trapdoor with a lock. After a short burn of iron, Aradan flew up to it before it subsequently broke free. Grabbing on to the ladder, he climbed upwards. This looks like an abandoned building. It looks like we’re still in the Smokestacks—which is good I suppose. Looking downwards, he extended a hand to the prisoner and called, “Come up. Quickly, before they catch up." @Steel Speedster@Through the Living Mist@Lunamor@Koloss17
  5. I could be down with that, if @Steel Speedster is amenable to a three-way encounter, than we could do that too.
  6. What I mean by that is that people will want to poke around, figure out what happened, attempt to destroy the Evil. If this is successful, then you’ve hidden the Dawnshard at a place literally anyone can reach. It might be found accidentally.
  7. I mean, Harry also skipped a full seventh of his (magical) schooling… But wizards aren’t shown as particularly innovative anyways. (case in point: they still use quills and parchment) He’s also not going to know much advanced English either. I doubt he knows how to use commas, semicolons, or other punctuation correctly. I wonder if it might be better to assign Houses to everyone. I suspect Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw are going to be huge with only a few Hufflepuffs.
  8. Are you taller than me? I mean, 18 is still a teenager tbf. Harry Potter is interesting in that they don’t receive any education from before 11 and don’t receive any sort of secondary education. Their handwriting is also likely terrible, considering how they never have English class...
  9. I’d be worried that you’d end up with the safe losing integrity underneath the spore sea (although I have no idea how heavy spores are). On second thought, you could probably fill the safe with water if it is watertight, resulting in opening the safe being extremely hazardous. Yeah, uh. Good point. I would just chuck an invested rock into the aforementioned safe, but do we actually know how to do this? We only saw Change in a painting, but I don’t know if you can just put it in a random rock. Solid, but I wonder if the aluminum might block the Transportation, as you can’t summon a Shardblade in an aluminum room. That's bold, but I’m really worried what could happen if the Evil got a Dawnshard. They might attack each other (how do you know they wouldn’t?), or the Dawnshard might amplify the Evil in a really scary way. It’s true, no one is going to get close, except for maybe the Night Brigade. Considering how the Night Brigade probably has access to the areas near Threnody, this sounds dangerous. If you can fly in there, drop it, and leave, then someone else might be able to fly in there, grab it, and leave. There’s also a compelling interest for everyone to find out how to defeat the Evil, which directly mitigates most of the protection.
  10. In addition, as long as you don't steal either A or F Gold, they could just heal the damage. The aluminum blackbane bullets I mentioned in a now forgotten thread would be more effective instead of trying to spike them. (Essentially aluminum to stop healing and blackbane to cause paralysis)
  11. Bravo! Bravo! I love it. @Doc12, you're almost as good as drawing as you are taking advantage of new players as a sneaky mafioso. It's weird we only have sixty, fifth, and first years, but whatever. I'm exited to see half of them die.
  12. You could cover it with aluminum. By “steel,” I was thinking strong metal that could survive the pressure at the bottom of the ocean.
  13. How interesting… Here we go again. Given that I cannot trust any existing organizations, I’m going to be unlikely to have that much in the way of invested allies, other than maybe some rogue Metalborn. I doubt founding an organization is a great idea, as I won’t be able to oversee it forever, it might help the hiding place stay alive, and it opens the possibility for abuse in the future. As a result, I think the best approach is how the One Ring was lost. It is hidden in an extremely inconvenient place to access and everyone who knows about it has either forgotten or died. I’m assuming I can’t just pay a random villager to take it and then shove them into the Emberdark... At first I thought of hiding it on Threnody, but the existence of the Night Brigade makes this, put mildly, an abysmal idea, unless you can hide it incredibly well. I don’t really want to put it on Taldain or Nalthis, as they have some form of border control. Roshar and Scadrial are out for obvious reasons. The Selish CR might be interesting, but people can clearly access it in some way, there is a compelling interest to access it, and I don’t know what a Dawnshard would do next to all the Dor. Komashi’s out for a similar reason as Sel. I’ll found a protection organization of sorts on Northern Scadrial. Essentially nothing more than a couple of Metalborn and gunmen, and then set up a trust (so it can be tracked) to pay them to guard where the Bands of Mourning used to be, and I’ll even let them recruit personnel. I’ll tell them almost everything about the Dawnshard and its capabilities. After a couple of years, I’ll go to Sel and set up another organization. Unknown to them, I’ve already taken control of a pirate crew on Lumar and kidnapped a poor old villager with no one to remember him. I’ll pay this villager to take the Dawnshard, and then trap him in a steel safe, which will be dumped at the bottom of the Midnight Sea. I’ll then use a hired Elsecaller to transport back to the CR after killing the rest of the crew and sinking the ship. I’ll then kill the Elsecaller and spren with an anti-Stormlight dagger. I’ll then retire in the Roughs, knowing that the Dawnshard will never be found.
  14. Which Leo? Leokadius or Leonidas? Because I assure you, one of us is an 11 year old, and one of us is 17. Also, my character is very prone to duels and may be a bit too eager to fight.
  15. Aradan Liese, Underground, Unknown The scarred man lunged at him with what seemed to be a railroad spike. Quite strange, Aradan thought as he jumped out of the way. Moving fast, he threw one of his metal vials to the woman who was in the cell. Hopefully she’s trustworthy enough. Aradan pulled a pistol out of the bag he was holding and pointed it, along with the one he was already holding, pointed his guns at the scarred man and the woman who had been chasing him so inhumanly fast. How am I going to get out of this. “Stop! Stop. Or, I’ll shoot!” Without waiting to see the reaction, he grabbed the prisoner (Eza), and shoved through the two others in the room. Pushing her aside, he picked up and door and shoved it back onto the frame. Aradan then broke out into a sprint, pushing the prisoner along. “Quickly, now. I don’t want to be captured, or worse, stabbed by the scarred man. That vial has iron. There’s an exit up the hallway to the left." @Lunamor@Steel Speedster@Through the Living Mist
  16. It was an honest mistake, but it might be a fun rp moment now. What, like Big Leo Leonidas isn’t? I’m indignant at your offense. How dare you.
  17. Rumor has it that next year, he's going to grab his friends to skip school, run away, do a scavenger hunt across the country, and destroy all the long lost historical artifacts they find with a long lost magic sword.
  18. Okay, fine. I changed my mind. Due to peer pressure and the part of my brain that likes to read fantasy novels teaming up on me, Leonidas now has a cape. A long, extremely dark green one. It's big like Batman's cape, where it's almost a cloak or a robe. And, it's super nice and high quality, unlike little Leo's cape.
  19. I believe the answer is yes. This WoB suggests that you could just use the Shardblade as a regular sword, although chopping through even a weak metal would be harder to cut than you think. (although indestructibility helps)
  20. It's Rand, from the Wheel of Time. (Or at least, I assume it is. Cover illustrations aren't always known for being the most canonically accurate) Honestly, I'm going back and forth on the cape. I don't know how well it would go with a suit, but I'm a wizard, and capes are cool.
