Fenna, New Hallandren Fenna narrowed her eyes further. That seemed a suspicious amount of information to have about her. She had heard that Coinshots and Lurchers could learn to identify types of metal with Allomancy, but she'd never met one who could do it, and this particular Lurcher was just a kid! She let that oddity slide, however. "That's not what I meant," Fenna muttered. "I wasn't talking about...spikes."

Thav hasn't done anything since he left the Silver Dagger. It's been a full day since then, so I guess I probably should have caught up on what he was doing, although I suppose this way we have a bit more flexibility. Thav knows very little about who he's looking for. He believes there to be multiple, but he's only met one (who is still alive): a Hemalurgist who is very Inquisitor-like in appearance. (This isn't a properly defined character yet, as I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to execute the idea. He could appear as an NPC, or he might not appear this era.) Thav has basically been looking for information. Anything regarding Hemalurgy is a good lead, and currently Perses is the best lead he has. So, given all that, it might be a bit difficult to tie this into Thav's background. Laonin would be unlikely to have the knowledge Thav wants or any connection to his goal. As far as your idea of someone getting attacked, we could probably work something like that out. I'm not sure if there's any player characters who could do so. The main characters who might be potentially antagonistic to them that I can think of are Leon (who's busy), Perses (who wouldn't have any reason to attack someone who is currently completely unknown to him), or some UFO character (and once again, I don't see UFO having the slightest interest in sending someone to attack either of our characters.) So, I don't think we could get another player to send someone. However, NPCs are still an option. I could have a group of Thav's unknown enemies attempt an ambush on him. Would that work? @KnightSkye (Moving us to the Collaboration thread.) I was thinking that Jerrin would head to New Hallandren and potentially offer his services to the police force in exchange for entry to the district. (Although I'm not sure how possible that would be. @Koloss17?) That could put him in league with Altin who made the same deal (this is all, of course, provided that @BridgeBoi likes this plan.) You would then have to figure out a way for Kaiden to end up there, which doesn't seem like it would be terribly difficult. Jerrin isn't exactly law abiding, but he isn't exactly a criminal either (OK, maybe technically) so they could probably at least work together, even if they don't get along.

Yeah, quite a bit. It's pretty easy to store.

Sure. Probably a good idea.

Mixing and splitting Investiture
Steel Speedster replied to Grubfriend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Physically, harmonium is a pure element, and so cannot be broken down into letasium and atium, but spiritually, it is a mix of Ruin and Preservation’s powers. -
(Might be better to go to the collaboration thread, but discussion seems to be hapoening here for now.) @BridgeBoi, would you be interested in a collaboration with one of my currently unoccupied characters? I was thinking they might head to New Hallandren to investigate Perses and get embroiled in what’s happening there. Maybe they could team up with Altin and potentially Kaiden @KnightSkye as well? @Karnatheon, if you need a character to interact with, we could try setting something up with Laonin and Thav. Not sure what circumstances would make sense, and we’d need some sort of plot hook if we wanted to make it a long term thing, but I’d also be cool with just a passing meeting or something. Whatever works for you.

Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar Fenna narrowed her eyes. “‘Like us’?” She repeated. “What do you mean ‘like us’? You don’t know who I am. How do you know if I’m like you and not like him?”
-
Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar Fenna started and turned towards the window, where young girl peered through. Fenna squinted for a moment, trying to place why the face was familiar. "You...you were at the Constabulary," she realized. They had technically fought on the same side, though they had never exchanged words, or even acknowledgement. Why then, was she here? It couldn't just be a coincidence. Had she followed her, or...someone else? "What are you doing here?"

Things got a bit messy with that scene, so I’m not sure who’s waiting on who. I think we’re doing good. I may have inadvertently held things up a little, but I should get a post done in the next couple hours. If anyone needs characters to interact with, I do have Jerrin and Thav who are not doing anything right now.

Who will become the first triple shard?
Steel Speedster replied to Atlas333's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Considering that the Elantris sequels are coming up soon, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if something happens with the Dor. I would certainly expect something highly Cosmere-relevant to occur. It could be as simple as Dominion and Devotion being repaired and becoming the third double-Shard, or a third Shard could arrive on Sel and combine with them. The question is, which Shard could it be? -
Which Shard would you want?
Steel Speedster replied to Steel Speedster's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think Dominion is dangerous, but I don’t think it would be nearly on the level of Ruin and Odium. I think lot of the dislike is just cultural. We don’t really like people being in control of us. The danger with Dominion is really apparent, probably only behind Odium and Ruin, but I think that a lot of other Shards could be a lot more dangerous in subtler ways. -
Which Shard would you want?
Steel Speedster replied to Steel Speedster's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Exactly. Part of the reason I made this poll was because I wanted to see what Shards people thought would be the "safest" to hold. I picked Reason, because it's probably one of the most neutral Shards there is. As a person who already is much more logical than emotional, its Intent wouldn't introduce any sort of completely foreign influence like choosing most other Shards would. It probably still wouldn't end well, but it seems a lot more doable to me than most others, even ones with Intents that seem more positive. -
Which Shard would you want?
Steel Speedster replied to Steel Speedster's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think it's funny that the only ones nobody wants are Ruin and Odium (which is completely unsurprising), and then Preservation. Preservation is the only one with no votes in either category. -
Which Shard would you most want to hold, and which would you least want to hold? And, no, you can't refuse to have one. No opting out. Nor can you pick multiple. You get one Intent and you deal with the consquences!

Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar Fenna breathed out slowly, turning away as Sunwatcher departed. Just a few hours, and she’d have to give an answer that could decide her fate. She could accept, throw in her lot with this dangerous man, and become strong. Or—she wouldn’t wait here to refuse Sunwatcher to his face—she could run. That was her whole problem: she was always running—never committing. Wasn’t it time to take a stand? To do take what she wanted? That pesky inner voice protested. Maybe, if she went through with this, she could silence it permanently. Otherwise it would continue to haunt her. To condemn her. Fenna slumped down on an old creaky barstool, dropping her stolen spear on top of the bar. @Lunamor

From my understanding, Scadrial is home to most of the same animals as Earth.

Which shard, if any, has an “evil” intent?
Steel Speedster replied to Entr0pic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would argue that all Shards are morally gray. None are pure good, and none are pure evil. However, some are much more likely to do evil things than others, Odium and Ruin being the biggest ones. I would say that Dominion is neutral in general. There is nothing inherently right or wrong with having power over others. However, it seems like it would be extremely easy for the vessel to tip to the side of tyranny. "Power corrupts" after all. Even then, I think it's less dangerous than Odium and Ruin. A corrupt ruler isn't as bad as a world destroyer, or an all-powerful entity that hates everyone. We barely know anything about Dominion though, so it's hard to say. I get the impression that it balances well with Devotion, and that combined they would be similar to Harmony. Most of the Shards seem fairly "safe", but their single Intent still can cause serious problems. Odium and Ruin, and Dominion to a lesser extent, are the only ones I would say are inherently dangerous. (Autonomy, by the sound of it seems like it should be relatively innocuous, but from what we've seen, that actually is not the case, although it could be because of the vessel more than the Shard.) -
Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar Fenna froze. So, she had been right about there being something odd about this Returned. He was much more dangerous than she had assumed. Part of her recoiled in horror at Sunwatcher's suggestion. Another part said that that was merely weakness--this was the path to power. The first voice was terrified of that dark hunger within her, but she had spent months silencing it. It was easy to ignore. "I--I need time to consider," Fenna said. "Come back in six hours. I'll give you my answer then."

Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar ”I don’t have any stake in what’s happening here,” Fenna said. “My ‘associate’ has the information you’re looking for. I was just along for the ride. There’s no reason for me to stay here now—I don’t need your protection. I’ll just make a break for the Mistwarrens once the coast is clear.” She felt a little reluctant to refuse the offer—she had been looking for someone to work with—but a Returned didn’t seem quite the right type. Aside from protection within this district, he didn’t seem to have much to offer. But there was something strange about him. Tracking down and attempting to bargain with known fugitives didn’t seem like something a normal Returned would do.

Fenna, New Hallandren, Abandoned Bar Fenna whipped around as someone spoke behind her. He was tall, with a powerful BioChromatic aura. A rusting Returned? She was tempted to flat out refuse his suggestion. Her last deal had lasted for all of twenty minutes, and left her on the run in an unfamiliar district. But it had been her idea, and she had been stupid to let Leon lead her into a fight with no plan. This could be different. “Go on,” she said, cocking her head. “I’m listening.”

Palava, New Hallandren, Chroma Street ”Storm it!” Palava cursed as there was a thud on the roof, followed by the truck lurching beneath her feet. She stumbled to the side and caught herself against the wall. She drew her gun, listening for any sounds to indicate where the person was. @Stormlightsong @SpiritOfWrath @TwinStorm

Yeah, I'm going to assume that the cops lost track of her after my last post. For simplicity sake, I'll say she's still hiding in that building. I'm good with either order. It seems to me like Eza might be less likely to approach if Vane is already there, but it's @Lunamor's call.

That’s an interesting idea. I don’t think we know whether or not you can draw Aons on a person. This is the section of the coppermind that would be most relevant: So, if I’m understanding correctly, your idea is that an Elantrian draws Aons as tattoos, and then activates them later, using them up. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) From the sound of it, if this were possible, the Aons wouldn’t go away after being used. Rather, they would act as a permanent effect. This seems like it would be extremely useful, which makes me a bit doubtful it could be done since we haven’t seen or heard of this. (Then again, just carrying around an amulet with a constant effect seems like it would be really useful too, and we haven’t seen that either.) Tentatively, I would guess that this isn’t possible (probably some sort of soul interference, just like how Allomancy can’t affect metal inside a person), but it also easily could be, so I dunno, maybe you would be fine to do something speculative like this.
