  1. Hey team 17th Shard! I understand that the contents of the story deck Lost Tales aren't supposed to be shared / included on the Coppermind until the stories are officially released, but is it okay to have a spoiler thread for those who have read them? There's so much to discuss, I just don't know where to do it. Thanks!
  2. Jumping in to say that this is a FANTASTIC theory
  3. Good point! A valid option
  4. I thought that, but talked myself out of it because of the "dead being raised" aspect. I don't know if that phrasing aligns with a reforging of Adonalsium. Definitely an option though!
  5. I haven't seen a thread on this yet, but correct me if I'm wrong. In Endowment's letter to Hoid, she said... That, in addition to the revelation that Hoid introduced the humans on Ashyn to Odium, makes me question who Hoid is ultimately trying to bring back (if anyone). Any ideas?
  6. I think it's likely just a much, much stronger storing of Investiture. Essentially no new abilities, but a much higher power level.
  7. What do we think the REDACTED event is? I honestly have no idea.
  8. Oh gosh, my bad. Ignore me
  9. If you click on the event it says "Not a TV/movie announcement." I had the same thought though!
  10. I'm mostly curious what the REDACTED event is - I honestly have no idea.
  11. Commenting so I can follow the thread -- I had the same question myself
  12. Well we don't yet know how the Fused returned after each death prior to the Everstorm, but there must've been a way. I assume they would do the same thing they did before the Everstorm, should the listeners have never summoned it.
  13. The Sanderson signings are going to be randomly assigned sometime this month. They said you'll receive an email when the time comes (if you get one). Not sure what to do with the Ball tix + storytime event.
  14. Everyone always talks about their big, epic favorite scenes from the Cosmere, but what are some of your favorite small or underappreciated moments? For me, two scenes in Rhythm of War come to mind. First, when Dalinar relieves Kaladin of his Highmarshal post; second, when Venli first uses her Cohesion surge in Urithiru.
  15. I felt like an Edgedancer when reading about the orders, and I was happy to confirm it in the test. I'm also a Hufflepuff, which feels like it matches the Edgedancer vibe. A huffledancer? An edgepuff?
  16. I'll be there! No cosplay, unfortunately, but I'll be sure to wear Kholin colors to the Worldhopper Ball When we get closer to the convention, we should plan a Seventeenth Shard meetup!
  17. I agree with you on this, though I was reluctant to include it in the poll since it's so different than anything else in the Cosmere. It almost feels like an effect of Investiture, rather than a way of using Investiture itself.
  18. See above for a poll on favorite and least favorite forms of Investiture to read, not to have.
  19. She's a Willshaper! She has the surges of Transportation and Cohesion.
  20. I love this idea! It's way more interesting than just getting 'luckier' by tapping Fortune. I wonder how specific it will be -- like, if Kaladin somehow created an unkeyed Chromium-mind, would the person tapping it would gain Kaladin's natural instincts with a spear? Similarly, I wonder what happens as you fill a Chromium-mind in this scenario. Do you lose that innate ability temporarily?
  21. Thanks as always, @Treamayne
  22. I have a question about a line from Marsh in TLM: What exactly is he implying here? Is he saying that the Set hasn't used Hemalurgy to create a compounding Metalborn? And what does Identity have to do with it in this case?
  23. Echoing what Quantus said, you should start with a pre-made module (the classic one is "The Lost Mines of Phandelver," which comes with the DND 5e starter pack). If you can't find a good group to play with, try hitting up a local game store or even finding a group online; with my friends, everyone wanted to try but nobody wanted to take the lead, so I had to step up and DM. Best choice I ever made... besides reading the Cosmere.
  24. Thanks for this context! I think if this is the case, then yes it could hypothetically work. The big caveat, in my opinion, is that it would be very tricky to make it "take." The only type of person I could see this specifically working on is a person living near MaiPon on Sel (as the stamps are less effective as they go further away) but has been to Lumar (in order for the person to have had an opportunity to be infected by the aethers).
