  1. Calamity appeared in the sky 2 years before people started to become Epics. Why then didn't scientists study Calamity? why not send a drone to take a closer look? I assume Calamity's appearance was a huge news article, but I can't imagine what did they say. "Yesterday a strange red light appeared in the sky. No one knows what it is and there are no plans to find out. In other news..."
  2. Umm actually no, you don't have a right. Otherwise, since when in our universe do people have super powers? My point is that Brandon's books, Cosmere or not, are fiction. And just like he can decide people in our universe can get super powers, he can decide shards can hop into our universe. There really is no grounds for comparison.
  3. Guys, I don't actually believe Calamity is a shard, I'm just trying to play devil's advocate here. If we take all WoB we can surmise with a 99.99% accuracy that Calamity isn't a shard, but it's definitely not 100% (and not because Calamity seems to behave like a shard -something WoB agreed with- but because there isn't WoB that he isn't a shard. It's that simple).
  4. To that I can say that if Calamity wasn't a shard he probably would have pointed that out here. Dunno, to me his answer seems pretty vague. Suspiciously so. @Titan Arum: Are you seriously trying to compare our universe to a fictional one? how do you even measure the power of black hole against that of a shard? regardless, we know worldhoppers can hop between worlds via Shadesmar without having to actually travel the distance of point A to point B. And if worldhoppers can hop between worlds, who's to say that shards (which are much more powerful) can't hop between galaxies or even universes?
  5. Point taken. I still wish we had WoB that Calamity isn't a shard. A quick google search reveals many people that wondered the same thing. Seems an easy enoguh task for Brandon to just say it isn't and be done with it.
  6. Still not answering my second question. Calamity could have universe-hop. @Titan Arum: Our universe doesn't have entities as powerful as Shards.
  7. Then I find it odd there is no official WoB stating Calamity isn't a shard, considering I'm not the first one who's been wondering it.
  8. Guys, you're not answering to what I asked. I know Earth based stories aren't in the Cosmere, I just asked if the Cosmere is A. a galaxy within a universe or B. an entire universe. If A is true, then that means that even though the Rockoners isn't in the Cosmere galaxy, it could be in another galaxy within the same universe. (Which means that Calamity is a shard that escaped the Cosmere galaxy and travelled to the Rockoners' galaxy.) If B is true, then that means that even though the Rockoners isn't in the Cosmere universe, it could be that Calamity is a shard that found a way to escape the Cosmere universe and get to the Reckoner's universe. I've yet to see WoB on 1. That the Cosmere is an entire universe as opposed to just a galaxy within a larger universe and 2. that Calamity definitely isn't a shard.
  9. Has Brandon ever specifically stated whether the Cosmere is in fact a whole universe or is it the name of the dwarf galaxy in which his Cosmere books take place? Because if it's the latter, then that means it's possible that other galaxies in his universe include the worlds of the Reckoners, Alcatraz, etc. Which may mean that Calamity is in fact a Shard that managed to galaxy-hop to the galaxy in which the Reckoners books take place. And even if the Cosmere is the name of the whole universe, it's still possible that Calamity is a shard that managed to universe-hop. Is there a WoB that Calamity isn't a shard?
  10. 1. In Reckoners #1 David tells the Enforecement guy he shot in the leg that knew from the Factory that there are Epics that can heal others and that he shouldn't go to them. But why didn't Steelheart have one of them heal him? 2. Also, what's good was killing everyone in the bank so that people wouldn't think he could be harmed? after all, lots of people saw him with a scar afterwards. Did he try to spread the word that he got the scar before becoming Epic or something? 3. Why did Steelheart have Nightweilder shroud Newcago in eternal darkness anyway? I understand why Nightweilder would want it, after all sunlight is his weakness, but why did Steelheart want it?
  11. Fortuity reminded more of a Chromium Twinborn- luck compounder.
  12. 1. Mistborn books 2. Warbreaker 3. Elantris 4. Stormlight Archives 5. Reckoners Haven't yet read Rithmatist and Alcatraz, but I'm planning to. I don't expect them to reach the top 5 though.
  13. true, but once they stopped burning their tin they would feel less pain than normal people. of course, that would make them easy pickings for Daredevil. p.s. can't skilled tineyes choose to ignore some sensory inputs?
  14. Well I don't have the MAG. And I didn't know there are named combos there. Could someone maybe write them down for me so I could update my table? As for Connector, yeah my bad. Will get right to it. Edit: Changed Connector to Reflector and added all Atium combinations.
  15. Yeah, but I was talking about a blind Tineye vs. Daredevil. Not Spook.
  16. I've alway wondered about blind Tineyes, and how they can they theoretically be equal to (if not greater) than what Daredevil can do. What do you tnink? would a blind (savant) Tineye even have echolocation? and would he ever need it if he didn't have it?
  17. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Took me overs 4 hours (not continueslly, but still). Near the end I nearly run out of words, but if given enough time I could maybe up with combinations including Allcomantic Atium+Feruchemical Atium. Does anyone actually want these added though? After all, in Mistborn Era 2 Atium a is legend, and I doubt anyway has access to it. Then again, I might have do it anyway. No life, remember? Btw, if I could choose I pick either being a Regenerator (Gold Compuder) or a Sentitel (Brozne Compander). I'd love to never be able to need to sleep (as I hate sleeping). Then again, won't Gold Compounding also negate to need to sleep? and eat? and drink? and sleep? makes some of the other compunders lucklaster in comparison...
  18. Hmm. If a Smoker Smokes a Nalthis person with Breath, would they appear Drab? Also, a non-crossover question: If a Nicroburst uses his power on a Ferring tapping his metalmind, would the effect be as if Compounded? One more thing: Can Breath be stolen Hemalurgically? and what about storing it in a Nicrosilmind?
  19. Vasher uses Stormlight instead of Breath. And if regular Breath can be Leeched, I don't see why a divine one couldn't.
  20. If so... imagine unleashing one in Nalthis. He could single handedly kill all Returned with a touch. Not to mention disarming Surgebinders of their Stormlight. Another question: What would happen if a Nicroburst used his Allomancy on someone with Breath? would they gain more Breath or something?
  21. Won't that require a Boon? and if so, how did the Nightwatcher know what Breath was anyway?
  22. Comounders are in red. Atium Twinborns have a grey background. Click the image to enlarge it. You can also see it here. And yes, I have no life.
